O2 Plus and ROM 20060426B1WWE - iPAQ rw6828, XDA Atom Software Upgrading

Hi...after updating to the new rom 20060426B1WWE, i installed O2 Plus thru O2 Connect and ever since i am having problems. like, when i reboot the phone, by default it powers on to Silent mode. and also, the device doesnt turn off when left unused (i.e., doesnt go to standby mode) even when it is set in the power settings.
anyone else facing these problems or any suggestions? i mainly use O2 Plus for the automatic profile support and the task manager features - any alternatives to these?

I had the same problem so when I went back to (ENG-20060123-45) teh problem is gone.

i had this too. Just use power button mate

I thihk this problem isn't depend from O2+

full screen apps keep minimizing in WM5

hey guys, any clue why my mda vario II would keep minimizing full screen apps?
so far have seen it for my games as well as tomtom navigator, which is definitely no good. for games i keep goign back to the main menu or just going to the today screen - same goes with tomtom where it runs for 2 seconds and then is back to the today screen!
some diagnostic questions answered:
> Has this just started happening?
Since my ROM upgrade to the latest HTC one (not WM6)
> Are you doing anything (tapping screen etc) when it happens?
With games, yes. with tomtom-no, it just minimizes.
> Did you install a new prog after which it happens?
Nope. also have no running apps in the background - did a reset, started no other app and it still does it.
> Have you tried anthing to solve it?
tried disabling connection / direct push etc, gotten rid of sbp plus and my theme.
> Does it do it i landscape as well?
yes.
Edit/Delete Message
i'm guessing this is a related issue - but my device does not turn off when its using battery source; it just remains on! its as though there's some activity taking place...
this is even though i've set the options to turn off ddevice if not used for 1 minute, turn off backlight if not used for 30 seconds. neither of these actually happen...

Power button not turning the phone but on

After an upgrade to dcd latest ROM 2.2.6 and Radio I have found that when my phone sleeps or I turn it off it doesn’t always turn back on I need to soft reset it. I am even tried an earlier Rom version 2.2.1 and still the problem.
This is a Telecom New Zealand phone and as for normal practice they don't give out their Rom's so I can't just flash back
With some playing I think I have tracked it down to only causing this issue when my data push is enabled ie, don't sync up to an exchange server and the phone works fine.
I am aware from other posts there are others out there with the same issue, can you check if this is the same with your phone. Turn off all your data connections and delete your exchange server and see if you phone then behaves.
I know people are saying it could be the Bootloader but if the above is the cause then I don't think it is in the loader and maybe dcd can help us track it.
I have tracked this problem down to when activesync does a Microsoft Direct puch while the phone is in standby. To connect to our work's mail server we need to also create a VPN connection (not using SSL) as long as I put in a wrong name or password causing activesync never to be able to sync then the power button turns the phone on everytime. If I also connect and sync (while phone is on) then dissconnet my VPN and and change password then the phone still works fine.
Does anyone has any idea where I should be looking, as I would like to have my Direct push email working.
Sorry to jack your thread, but I have a very similar problem. Sometimes when my phone goes on standby when I'm on the phone and my conversation is finished. I cant power back on my phone either. The green light still flashes, but the power button does nothing! Anyone have that same problem?
I've also had this problem. When I press the power button the phone would enter standby mode and when I pressed it again it wouldn't wake up. The only way around it I found for my phone is to install S2U2 and set it so it activates when the backlight turns off. That seems to catch it before it whatever happens to not let the phone wake up happens. So now when I press the power button, the screen cuts off and S2U2 opens. Hope this helps.
I have similar problems. Maybe I'll try using S2U2 ...
Same problems, doesn't seem to wake up if it goes to sleep while VPN is running... any fix?
I had the same issue when I flashed my ROM with the USB connection. It could be the bootloader. because I then used the SD card bootloader and re-loaded my ROM from the SD card and it resolved the issue.
I would recommend reinstalling from the SD card using the no2chem.

Data automatically turning on???

Ok i have a alltel touch pro, stock rom the only thing i have changed was the theme. i have diamond tweak and tf3d config and advance config tool all installed. For some reason I will pull my phone out of my pocket turn the screen on and the data will be on. I have weather, gps, and all other options that use data turned off unless i tell it to turn on. (or so i think)
Is there anything you guys know of that would be a reason for my data to be coming on automatically. it is killing my battery and it is becoming annoying to after having my screen off for an hour or so (sometimes more) to pull it out and the data be on for no reason.
any help please?
thanks
Jeff
I also had the same problem. My phone did the exactly same thing, but since I have a notification on my phone on when this would occur it I would press and hold the end key to terminate the data.
What I did to get rid of it was first backed up all of contacts, sms, etc..
and did a hard reset.
Got rid of all of the extras I had installed.
And reinstalled only the things that I needed.
for example net.3.5 tf3d config, personalizer.
If you don't have a back up program (make sure you have a sim card as when you back up you'll be backing it up into your sim) use PPCPimBackup.exe which you could find through google.
I'm still a noob to ppcs and my touch pro, but if you have any questions on how to do the following just let me know.
If you download advanced config tool you can set the data connection to turn off automatically. There are also a ton of other options that will help optimize your phone and save battery
Do you have an E-mail account set up on your device? If so, you may have set it to connect every so often. One other thing that comes to mind would be if the QuickGPS app needs to update the certificates, it will connect to the internet.
You may want to get a custom rom in your device. This will get rid of a lot of junk...
Good luck!

[Q] How to stop HD2 Connecting to TMobile Server

Hi
I have an unlocked UK Leo that has the tmobile software on it which I used on the O2 network (phone only; no internet).
Its just over a year old and has started trying to connect to tmobile on the internet. It tries about once or twice /hr to connect. Sometimes, if I haven't used the phone for a few hours, I'll have to cancel several of these attempts to connect. Worst of all, if there are several cancels waiting and the phone rings, the HD2 locks up and I cannot answer the call. Removing the battery seems the only way to get the phone to work again.
I could flash a standard ROM but HTC tell me that will invalidate the warranty (and its already been back for repair once)
So is there some other way I can stop these attempts to connect to tmobile?
(I cannot find anywhere to remove the tmobile connection and it is not listed in connections)
If there's nothing in 'connection' settings, then it has nothing to connect too.
I can't quite remember the way to go there, but in connection settings, there is an option saying 'edit my connections'.
Tap and hold the connection and choose 'delete'
In the other screen there's the same connection name again, but with the option 'delete settings'.
That should do it.
I don't have my phone with me unfortunately (I wasn't running WM 6.5. anyway anymore ), but this should be some sort of the way to go there
Its probably because something is set to auto update every few hours.
Peep/email/weather/facebook/3rd party app etc etc..........
Make sure everything that can update is disabled.
If you dont use the phone for data then you could use something like "touch tools" or a similar app to disable the data connection.
As you said, you coukd flash a new rom, you can always flash back to stock if you need to send it in for repair.
HSPL it and flash the 1.66WWE ROM (or any custom ROM you like) - That'll get rid of the T-Mobile UK guff. Install NoData - which can stop all phone line data connections, but leave WiFi still operational.
I think the problem of random phone data connections is to do ActiveSync, on the phone, starting up. The only thing I noticed that it stopped after the 'clock going forward' problem's soloution of stopping the automatic Time Synchronisation. Once I downloaded HTC's solution and restarted the Time Synchronisation, the clock problem was gone but ActiveSync randomly started up again. So I stopped the Time Synchronisation. ActiveSync will start up when I connect to a PC, whether to sync with the PC or use as a DiskDrive.
I don't use ActiveSync on the phone to check for mail updates, as I have set my phone up to do that for myself.
KrewsialNL: There is nothing in Start->Settings->Connections->Connections->manage existing connections. Sadly it does not stop it trying to connect to t-mobile server. That is the problem
conantroutman: Possibly. However, when it is trying to connect, Task manager shows only activesync running.
fred-up: Flashing a standard ROM is fine; flashing the original RoM if the phone is broken could be tricky depending on the break!!! And how do I get to keep a copy of the original ROM?
It seems when it happens that connection manager and active sync are (generally) running running but what started them off. AFAIK, all updating applications are switched off. Ive noticed a few times 'Direct Push' is busy switching itself off (green to grey) but have no idea what switched it on. I dont use Outlook and all data services are switched off.
Any ideas what might be triggering this or it is an evil TMobile plot?
You don't need to keep a copy of the origional ROM as you can download it from HTC's website using the phone's serial number.
If you flash it via the SD Card method, then the HSPL will be removed. You could also flash it via the PC and then run HSPL2 and select the SPL version for the ROM you download (1.66.0000 for the T-MoUK 1.72 ROM).
I can't tell you if it is a T-MoUK evil plot because My T-MoUK HD2 lasted a week before I flashed it to the 1.66 WWE ROM (after flashing HSPL). T-MoUK took another couple of months to bring out their version of the 1.66 ROM (1.72).
Have you got any Live services installed (MSN or Hotmail) as these use the Direct Push?
Not AFAIK.
It was all fine until (roughly) its first birthday and then this problem. I have not installed anything for ages so I am confused.
HTC escalated this over 2 weeks ago and I have, as usual, heard nothing.
I think its probably ROM flashing time.

problem after hard reset following official Tango/firmware update

Hi,
A few days ago, I updated my HTC Titan (bought in 2011 in France as a sim-unlocked device) to the official Tango update (+ firmware update) through Zune.
Then, after doing a hard reset, the usual setup assistant is displayed, but at the end of it there is a new step that wasn't there before the update (titled "Almost Done") telling me that the phone is going to launch some kind of htc specific utility in order to configure my data connection for my carrier. Then after clicking on "continue", I see a black screen for about 15 seconds (like when an app doesn't manage to load properly and WP7 kills it because it took too long to start), then the start screen appears (but I don't receive the usual fake welcome SMS from Windows Phone).
I can launch apps, but the capacitive Back button, Start button, Search button don't react (they cause the phone to vibrate, but WP doesn't react to these commands).
After shutting down the phone and restarting it, I'm greeted by the setup recovering screen (titled "Welcome Back") telling me that Windows Phone will resume my setup where I left it (that explains why the capacitive buttons don't react: they were software disabled because Windows Phone considered it was still in first setup mode. Same for the fake welcome sms I didn't receive). Of course the same problem happens again when I tap on continue, and when I restart my phone.
I tried several hard reset through the usual methods (either through the about menu, or through the menu displayed using VolUp+VolDown at startup). Still the same problem. I guess it's a bug that should happen on many Titan devices. I contacted the HTC support and they told me to send my phone back to HTC for repair
Of course Zune won't let me restore the backup because of the firmware update not longer compatible with the backup.
Did anybody have the same problem with a stock htc titan rom?
I'm also wondering what is the new "HTC Log disable" command on the "CUST APPSBL" screen? I'm sure it wasn't there before the update. Is there some kind of htc specific logging that is enabled by default (since it is a "disable" command). What is being logged?
Also, the red diode (indicating when the battery is charging) is being lit during startup, which didn't happen before the update. Does that mean something?
Hi,
It is quite normal for the new Tango ROM to display that extra HTC specific step, even though it doesn't work!
I experimented with the Titan a bit and found that as soon as the Start screen appears after setup, before doing anything else, long press the Connection setup app in the app list and uninstall it.
It will enable normal functionality.
If needed you can always download it again from Marketplace.

It happened to me too!!!
Moreover, after a hard-reset the HTC Market disappeared in the market!
I disabled the pin to the sim re-formatted, and connected to electricity, and aftew few times HTC market reappeared (!), immediately updated ALL the htc software (even the connection wizard) and everything is OK now... exept the possibility to install INSIDER (by Microsoft)... it is said that the app is not available for my device (!!!) ... I used it until yesterday on my Titan with Mango... I REALLY DO NOT KNOW

Yes, exactly the same problem happened after hard-resetting on tango. I simply waited a bit with the phone on the main menu and the softkeys not working. After a while, I received the WP7 welcome text, and the softkeys started to work again.
maTTeo
Hi all,
I made a new hard-reset.
As suggested by maTTeo I simply waited even with softkeys not working... I only disactivated the pin on sim so that the Titan could find an internet connection.
After receiving the SMS of woelcome on WP7, I immediately upgraded all the HTC apps
Everythings seems fine for the moment...
