After trying about half a dozen mono and stereo bluetooth headsets each with their pluses and minuses, I've decided to stick with a wired set.
Does anyone know if there's a solution available like the boxwave dual adapter that allows handsfree use as well as your own 3.5mm stereo headphones? Boxwave doesn't currently support the 8125 though I've put in a request.

I got adapters on eBay that worked fine, with microphone and volume control, much cheaper than the one on www.seidioonline.com.
I also highly recommend the Shure i2c-T headset that is recommended for the Treo - works great with Wizards - awesome sound (in-ear plugs with dual speakers in each ear), very sturdy - can use Voice Command but do have to press button on the Wizard to activate.
A long time ago I used to have a Nokia phone and bought a "Car Kit" which consisted of a new battery cover with belt clip, a car mount, and the speakephone base which even though it plugged into the cigarette lighter it still had a mic wire which I had to router behind the dashboard, up around the window and out just above the rear view mirror. The quality of this thing was amazing, I could hear people loud and clear and they could hear me perfectly over the loud noise that I get when driving my pathfinder.. Background noise is the biggest complaint I get from people I talk to when using wired headsets or bluetooth earpieces. I'm wondering if anyone can reccomend a good Bluetooth speakerphone device that I can use in my car? I prefer the portable type but professional kits are fine too. I don't mind spending extra on it if it's going to work and work well. I tried that Motorla visor clip speakerphone and it was awful.
I've seen some devices from Parrot, Anycom, and Jabra.. Does anyoe here have any experience with their speakerphone products? Are they any good?

I've had good results with the Sony MEX-BT5000 headunit and my Wizard. In addition to speakerphone, it also supports A2DP. Sony just announced the next generation unit (MEX-BT2500) which should also perform well.

Thanks for the info. Actually, I'm looking for something that's standalone or integrates with an existing car stereo, I'm not looking to replace my headunit as I've already invested and installed one with a DVD player/GPS Navigation system built in. Thanks anyway though!

Sony HCB-100 visor clip unit is great, not sure about integrating with your stereo though. I have steering controls so its easy to mute the stereo when a call comes through
Has anyone found a 2.5mm headset similar to the iPhone one? I want one that has a tiny in-line microphone (http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/hero-iphoneheadset.jpg). I listen to music on the train but I feel like a fool having the huge bulky microphone attached to my headset.
haven't checked it out but can't you use that one? or have you tried using a bt headset? i can play music through my bt headset just fine.
Playing music through BT would be a huge battery drain + huge hole in my wallet. I'm just looking for a headset that is 2.5mm with a thin microphone so it isn't too noticeable when I listen in public. I find the bulky microphone too distracting.
Guys I need to purchase another bt. Been using my Treo bt and it's getting kinda old. Read too many opinions on what works best. Thought about the Jawbone 2 but I hear it is too low. What is working well witih you? Thanks

Blueant V1
I just bought one for my pro, the head piece is the best fitting unit I have ever owned, the head set is also voice controlled

Haven't used one in over a yr, use to have a moto bt but it was a pos.
Jawbone2 all the way. I have had no complaints with it at all. My girlfriend would always get mad at me when I would talk to her over the pone on my bluetooth because she could hear all the background noise. Now she doesn't even know I am using a bluetooth. As for the volume no complaints. I did install a cab file to fix the speaker volume and I think they said something about bluetooth in there also.
Blueant V1 All the Way!
I've owned both the Jawbone 2 and Blueant V1. While the Jawbone has slightly better noise reduction, it has to be plastered to your face to work. No such problem with Blueant. V1, and it is voice controlled.

Guys if I go with any of these headsets where would I get the correct cab file for the volume that you have used that works and it doesn't still need to be tweeked? For those that have used the Jawbone do you have problems keeping it close to your face? For the others that use another BT device do yo have background noise issues and is the volume acceptable with or without the cab file up\grade? Thanks for the replies thus far
I use Motorola H9 MiniBLU Bluetooth Headset. I love it. I haven't had any background noise issues. didn't have to use any .Cab. I got it right from Sprint.com

It was on sale for $70 but isn't anymore. One of the coolest things about it is it has its own battery charger that you can put it in when your on the go and it will charge it with out being plugged in.
I haven't had any problems with the Jabra either. No background noise. Amazingly no static. I've even streamed audio from the kitchen counter to the deck with no problems (about 20 ft through two walls and a glass door).
The battery life seems to be very good. I charge it about every 3rd day with moderate use.
I also have not installed a .CAB file for the audio. I did however use the "Diamond Tweaks" prog to enable louder audio, which is probably all the .CAB file does.

Can be switched between mono and A2DP stereo.
Jawbone 2 is working aces for me. No complains at all.

I Work for a major Retailer and I've gotten to test many headsets with my Touch Pro during hour long conference calls, I think that the Jabra BT530 is one of my favorites; A2DP, 8 different Ear Gel's, optional ear loop, a great headset for those that get tired of that same old feeling on the ear.

The BlueAnt V1 is also a very good choice. Very good quality, both foam and gel ear tips, and it has the ability of firmware updates! What's not to love?!

I've used jawbone / jawbone2/ plantronics 955 and now the blueant v1. The blueant is the best of the bunch for me. Jawbone has a tendancy to rotate away from your face and fit was always difficult even though they gave you multiple earloops/gels (kind of tells me right there that fit may be an issue). Plantronics 955 was nice and compact but blueant is the most comfortable and is extremely clear. The voice activation is a nice plus but I find I do not use it much as I use ms voice command to reach all my contacts instead of just the contacts in my speed dial list.
I'm using the Moto H15. Functionality wise, couldn't be happier. My wife says that it is the clearest she's ever heard me on any headset. Design wise, I hate the clip. It's secure, the headset fits well and comes with additional molded ear pieces to customize the fit. But the plastic clip is a beast to remove. I'm always afraid I'm going to break or mangle it.
I had a Palm 800w and used the Plantronics 925 on it, sold it and bought my Sprint Touch Pro and still use it and it has always worked great for me.
i tried 3 different types of bluetooths on my sprint touch pro and everyone says i sound underwater also had 3 different pros. i even did a firmware update for my blueant v1. i am using my corded headset for now. are there any cabs to help with this? i saw a volume cab but i do not need this.

Jabra bt 8010 works like a dream for me plays the music and video audio through the earpiece and call quality is great, battery life last 10 hours long its a great earpiece id highly recommend
There are some external stereo microphones for IOS that plug into the headphone jack rather than the dock connector. For instance, the IK Multimedia iRig MIC Cast.
They claim that they work on Android as well.
Well, they may work, but do they provide better sound quality than the internal phone microphone, turning it into a decent digital recorder for music, for example? (with the right software, of course).
My question isn't really whether those microphones are better quality than the internal microphones, as I assume they are. But does the headphone jack on Android phones (mine is the Galaxy S4) really provide the input capability for better quality sound, including in stereo?
Of course that jack can transfer sound in both directions, headset and microphone, as it is a phone. For output, the phone provides quality stereo music output to headphones, as modern phones are also music players. However, the microphones on phone stereo headsets are generally low quality monaural microphones only suitable for phone calls, usually not better than the internal microphone, might be worse.
So the question is--is the input function of that jack capable of providing quality stereo input, if one has a quality stereo microphone attached? (No matter how good quality the microphone is, if that jack really cannot transmit that quality sound, but reduces it to a very low resolution and frequency-reduced monaural sound, no point at all in attaching such a microphone.
Anyone know about the input capabilities of the headphone jacks on Android phones. (If it varies from phone to phone, then how about mine, the Galaxy S4?)
