Hi,
Not sure if this is the correct forum for this phone model....I can't rememeber the HTC codename for it!
Simple question - how do I soft-reset an O2 XDA SP? Is there a reset button somewhere?
Thanks

hi all
i have a big problem. my default.prop file was deleted from system dir and the worst part that it was factory reseted. is it posible to restore it?
Hey I did the exact same thing to my phone and even reset it. I finally fixed it with the x10I flashed and global 2.1. You can find it in the x 10 development forum.
They will explain how to use it there. Good luck and atleast

I dont know what has done this.. Now my phone isnt booting up.. Its stuck at Motorola M logo! Ive tried factory reset by holding X button along with the power, but it hasnt helped.. I used charm overclock to overclock it to 1ghz and vsel 60. I did THIS only. I mean I dont know if anything else is needed to successfully overclock the device.. I even tried to clear cache, but it didnt help. I have not done a backup also.. HELP!

Hullos all!
Being rather new to rooting (I rooted my old X10 Mini and my Xperia S), I am wondering about what to do and not to do when ICS rolls out in the near future.
Did a search on these forums and on google, but the answers I found left me with even more questions, so I turn to the Gurus here ;o)
Now to my questions: I have a rooted Xperia S with unlocked bootloader - what should I do when the ICS update rolls out? - I have a few ideas about what to do (I've typed those under my questions), I just need verification from the Gurus ;o)
1) Will I need to backup all my data and apps? (I probably should just for safety).
2) Should I accept the update from Sony
(From what I've read, it's a big NO - I should wait until a dev releases a pre-rooted firmware and install that with fastboot).
3) If the update (whatever method I need to use) is successful, will I have to reinstall my apps again? What about my contacts/SMS/other data - will that be deleted?
4) Not really ICS-related: Can I use factory restore on a rooted phone?
(I don't think so, solution is to reinstall the pre-rooted firmware).
1) yes for safety nandroid backup. Back up apps with titanium backup just incase you need to wipe data on flashing new roms.
2) No
3) flash both phones with flashtool there will be ftf ics roms for both your phones. You will not lose apps and data if uncheck the option in flashtool
4) yes you can factory reset while rooted or unlocked
5)

Thanks a bunch!
I used a program named fastboot to flash the ROM .img file.
I guess that using Flashtool is the way to go - didn't know it existed until now ;o)
Just head over to the Android Development Forum.. There's a sticky thread called [TOOL/LT26] [UPDATE 09/04/2012] Flashtool version 0.6.9.1 - Windows / Linux. There you'll find download links and so on..

I think it depens whether you are using .tar files for pda/modem/csc or .zip... tar files shouldn't need the .pit but please, someone correct me if I am wrong
Don't touch a PIT file unless you want a broken phone. Not necessary in this case.
Edit to add - If you have problems getting a successful Odin flash, find Hopper8's 'Odin troubleshooting' guide stickied in the General section; info in that thread should enable you to get it done.
Thank y'all ! My s2 is alive again! Thx for the reactions!!
Greetings

You can also unbrick your phone by installing a new kernel i think. Don't know if 100% true though
