I have mda that have security password in it , how to clear that out?
What do you mean with security code?
Stefan
security code
I think he/she means that its asking for a pin code on device start?
Welldo a cold reset hold in power button and click the reset pin with the stylus at the bottom Left. You will lose EVERYTHING on the MDA after so make sure you back up with active sync. If that doesn't clear it reflash it with another rom

Hey guys,
I was just wondering if it was possible to reset the unlock pin, I understand it brings a little forgot pattern thing up if you use an unlock pattern, however it doesn't do this if you use a PIN afaik. I changed my pin because my little brother had figured it out and I didn't want him to screw around with it, but then forgot it when I tried to get into it later. Panicked for a while and then managed to get in with the bypass lock screen app in the marketplace. Before that I had tried entering the wrong pin like 80 times in hopes it would let me enter my google account or ask for a PUK. Unfortunately it didnt so I gave up and tried like 70 different combinations of what I thought it would've been. Now I've also used that disable lock screen app from the market to make sure I dont get locked out of it again, however I was wondering if it's possible to now reset the pin now I'm into the phone. If i can I'd like to change it to a pattern so I don't end up in this predicament again, I assume I have to factory reset, and if so is there a way to do a complete backup that includes everything except say settings, so it would manage to reset the PIN. It would be a huge headache to factory restore and do all of my customizations over again, not to mention re-downloading every single app.
Thanks,
Ninja
Now that you are in...
Can't you just go into settings>Location and Security and select pattern?

Build Number 23.4.A.1.200
I've recently updated my Z2 to the above build number. Around the same time, I also added an Exchange account through my work that forces a 6-digit PIN and encryption of the phone's contents.
I find the 6-digit PIN unlock is annoying as it is because I'm used to the pattern unlock... but I've noticed that every time I type the PIN in wrong the first time, the secondary screen (pic attached) comes up and I have to type the word "SONY" (only works in upper case too!) before I can reattempt the PIN again.
I've tried to search around online but can't seem to find anything at all about that screen...
Does anyone know how to remove this secondary unlock screen so that I don't have to type "SONY"? It pretty much means I have to unlock my phone with two hands. I'm not sure if it's part of the firmware update or whether it's a security setting forced by my company policy via the Exchange settings.
I believe the purpose of the screen would be to prevent accidental entering of the PIN 5 times, for example, while it's in my pocket and subsequently causing the phone to wipe the contents.
Appreciate any help... thanks!
Hello,
I'm pretty good at computers but when it comes to phones I'm a dummy. I set a password in my Galaxy S5 running samsung-stang5litre edition 5.0 I just bought this phone and it had this ROM installed. I looked up instructions online for this phone to remove it (settings are not working or showing for this ROM) for this phone model and there are no instructions for this ROM. How do I remove the password or do I have to reset this phone ? If I reset the phone will it still ask for the password ? The person who sold me this phone also changed how this ROM looks and deleted almost every program out of it before I bought it. Please help me.
Found help
Since no one answered back I contacted someone to help me. I'd have never figured this out by myself. I'm so glad for his help. This is what worked.
What you have to do to remove that pin, go to Settings>Lock Screen> Screen Lock> Pattern> Setup any pattern, then setup Pin Code with it after you setup the Pattern. (You already have a Pin set in, just use it). It will ask you to type it in twice.
Now Power Off and Power On the phone it will ask for the pattern, do 5 to 6 wrong patterns, it might time you out for 30 seconds after that, on the bottom right of the phone it will say "use your Pin Code", hit that button, type in the Pin which you already setup while you were setting up your pattern, then use that Pin Code to unlock the phone. Now Power Off and Power On the phone, you shouldn't have any pin or pattern code to unlock anymore.
This worked for me.
Hi. We've lost the Pin number for the digital dalance. This tool was super useful so I want to reset it. I reset factory settings etc but it's still asking for the same pin. Anyone know how I can reset the pin??
Thank you
I have wiped and reloaded my phone a couple times, and each time it asked for my pin when I was setting it up. Said something to the effect of "...phone has been used, Enter your pin number".
Is there a way to wipe it so that doesn't happen?

Click to collapse
Very surprised. What PIN number are you referring to? SIM pin number is obviously asked for each time a PIN protected SIM is inserted. As far as device pin / lock pattern... are concerned, they are erased by a factory reset.
The only important thing is to delete all Google accounts form the device PRIOR to the factory reset, otherwise the last used Google account is required during the next setup.
On Huawei devices might also need to delete Huawei account from device before factory reset.
Thanks.
May be the Sim, not sure. And I had not deleted the accounts before reset All the years I've been using smart phones never heard to do that.
Thanks again. Next week I'll be doing the reset, and I'll report back confirmation of how it goes
It's called Factory Reset Protection (FRP). You can google it. Basically, if a Google account is present on a device at the moment of the factory reset then the credentials of this account will be required during the set up wizard that follows the factory reset. It's a theft protection but in your case (sale) this is not something you want.
