Hi everyone, if these seem like simple questions please excuse my ignorance, im a bit of a noob in a lot of ways.
I have a Telus HTC Hero which is rooted with custom rom on it. I am going to Australia for a couple of months and would like to be able to just chuck a pre paid sim card in it to use while I am there.
2 Questions, 1st will the phone actually work over there? With the frequencies and what not. and secondly do I need to unlock it and if so how do I go about that.

It should work for voice calls and texts. I don't think 3G will work though.
You'll need to go to an unlock shop or buy an unlock code of an eBay seller to use an Australian SIM Card I think.

Hi my name is Rafael de Sousa,from Brazil. I have a Motorola Atrix at&t unlocked. I need config the Atrix like a router by usb and wifi, but I cant, because the cellphone ask for at&t account or call to 611. But I was in brazil and I don't have this account.
I need do this.

I think that this may be what you are looking for.

It should let you skip the setup for at&t and motoblur. Hopefully that is what you are after.

You could also try the Wireless Tether or Wired Tether apps if you are rooted.

You want to use your Atrix AS a router, right? Use this very simple, free app to accomplish that.

Phones should work with any network, but if the phone has network lock, then you can only use it in the network, it is locked to.
And you need to ask the seller about that, we cannot help.
Just got my new Samsung Galaxy S II from T-mobile. I need help with the mobile hot spot tethering as I cannot access it anymore. Looks like t-mobile is blocking access even using Tether apps from play store, still wont let me access internet through my laptop.
Is there a way to bypass all of this junk and use the mobile hotspot tethering service? Would it help if I root the phone or flash with a custome ROM?
I'm new to all this, perhaps can you guys walk me through? I just dont want to break my new phone.

Hello anyone able to help or to give me insight, My imei was blacklisted as this was an error and T-Mobile will not help me in anyway to unblacklist the phone. Does anyone know a way to unblacklist the phone or a workaround to get it to work on T-Mobile carriers? Thanks
