Hi,
I'l like to purchase either a 1GB or 2GB card for my TyTn. Some of the local stores only keep the 1GB Sandisk and no 2GB.
The question I have is the one store only has the standard Sandisk 1GB Micro SD Card and not the Sandisk Ultra II.
Is there really a big difference in performance and what would one recommend as a card and where to purchase from over the internet?

FYI, I dont think there is a Sandisk Ultra II 2GB card available. And the Ultra II cards are supposed to be much faster (W/R, 9MB/10MB) compared to the regular cards.

microSD available many places
You will see the 2 GB Sandisk microSD available all over the place. eBay has them, as well as various vendors with internet purchasing.
Eventually, we'll see the "ultra" sandisk versions of the microSD. For now, I went for the 2 GB version available, because 1 GB is too limiting, especially if you use the TyTN for music.

Yeah, I've just see it when looking on google. Shame I only recently (well 4 months ago) bought a 2GB card. I can donate it to someone but I don't think I'll part with it yet.
I thought the Wizard required some sort of not yet available firmware upgrade before it could go beyond 2GB miniSD cards.
In fact, this link from SanDisk makes it sound as though our phones will never be able to use these cards:

I don't think so. Look at the compatibility list!

Maybe it would work by splitting the 4Gb into two logical disk 2Gb each?
By the way I don't know what to load to 2Gb, I have about 1,3 Gb free space in my miniSD. I mean is it so needed the 4Gb card? Any suggestions?
4 GB Mini SD
Well storage space I can always use. My Tom Tom map of Western Europe already takes away 1Gb. Some movies converted to divx take about 600Mb the rest is used for backups and cab files of the programs I use on my device. So 4Gb of storage would be a very nice option. Doesn't matter if this has to be split in two partitions of 2Gb each. I would love it

As far as I can tell, there are no REAL 4GB MINI SD's. They all seem to be fake... 2GB SD made to look like 4GB... Buyer beware!

ive used www.mobymemory.com before im sure a fair few on here have.
4g miniSD that works
I have purchased a 4G miniSD from http://www.emartbuy.co.uk/index.php.
It works. There is a small problem with access time, i.e. it takes longer to write to and access the card than the 2G did, but apart from that there are no issues.
All I did was use a card reader and copy everything from the 2G card to the 4G card, put it in the device and away it went, like nothing had changed. Except now there is twice the storage. YAY. The card is brandless and is probably a reflashed card, but I don't care because it works for me.
Hey if any of you are doubting the 4gb mini sd at mobymemory I can confirm it certainly is 4gb card and definetly works in the wizard.
This isn't a reply to your asking if it works. The listed price here was $78 (USD) roughly if i'm not mistaken. I'm sorry, but i'm not paying $78. I already paid $55 for mine and am just awaiting it's arrival in the mail. Hopefully I'll get it soon so I can pop that sucker in and flash my firmware till i see it. I want 4gb because I love movies on the go, and I have some nice tools that do about 4mb/min of video, now that's 1000 minutes of video... or if you load 2 hour movies: roughly 7 movies. At 320x240 stereo mp4 44100khz. Now to just find a bloody adapter for being able to pick up phone calls with my own earbuds, and now to find good earbuds...
I got my 4gb in the mail today! It's completely unmarked which I thought was weird, and upon first popping it in, my MDA would NOT read it, however, after popping it in my computer and reformatting it into FAT32 again (it was FAT32 when i checked it with the computer), it works just fine. Transcend 4GB mini SDHC Flash Card does not work on 8125
I purchased one from Newegg.com. 8125 did not recogonize the card, neither my computer card reader.
Any thoughts?

Have you checked to see if you can Rightclick the "removable drive" the card is in on your computer and see if you have the option "Format"? I had to format my card before it was usable in my MDA and computer.

You may need to update the firmware on your card reader.

4GB miniSD cards are fake products. Real 4GB memory cards are SD-HC (SD 2.0) standard compatible, not SD 1.0 compatible in agree with the SD Standard Association. Look a real 4GB SD HC memory card of the pioneer on memory cards in this link and looks the SD HC logo:

SDHC is not backward compatible with SD standard.
Beware of fake product, SanDisk is a reputable manufacturer and the pioneer on this type of memory cards.

Thanks for all the replay. Apparently I bought a SDHC card. It's not comparable with 8125. I have to RMA it, by paying 15% restock fee.

they might be fakes but most people have to format the m and use them as 2-2gb cards.

i heard 8125 had problems but the users got their card from ebay and 99.99% ebay mem sticks are verified FAKE! aka counterfeit.
so which one should i get guys? once i get back in an hour ill be upgrading my cingular 8125 to wm 6.1 (currently 5.0) is there anyway to run the 4gb sdhc? or do i have to buy the mini sd? and would both cards fit in the slot?
