Is there a way to configure the hardware buttons yourself, so I can choose which application to launch in stead of the default ones?

I've been using the autorotation feature on my x7501 for a while, and it's alright, but definitely not always needed. I'd rather a hardware button initiate rotation.
Is this possible?

Hello.
I use Hbutton application.
With this application, you can assign different applications to the hardware buttons.
For example I use the camera button to star the camera, PocketScreen, and Rotate right.
I'm not sure, but the rotation came with some Home plugging or task managers.
Is just that you explore the software.
just google Hbutton. I use the version 2.3.
Regards.
Thanks, I'll try out Hbutton, I've been wanting to use some of the other buttons for alternate tasks. [The OK button for one]
Under the "Buttons" program in Settings, all you have to do is set one of the buttons to <Rotate Screen>. I didn't see that option previously.
Hi,
I'm search for some d-pad app, which can show me virtual d-pad on screen. I found some, but it doesn't met my needs. I need d-pad for example for edit of searched value. This can be done by "arrow" or trackball - but we have nothing of these.
I also tried remap UP/DOWN d-pad keys on volume UP/DOWN but I can't set up volume during call, mute, configure volume...
My requirements
- I don't want see d-pad all the way. I would like bring-up virtual d-pad by some hw key (long/short search button press for example) or for example from notify or by tiny persisted virtual key on display
- it should be possible move d-pad on screen
I found only one app which is really is close to my requirements, but it works strange and have sometime FCs. It is called softkeys.
I do not understand, why for windows mobile exist so much virtual d-pads, services for handling key shortcuts even gravity control "d-pad" but for android nothing?
Is there any app for rooted xt910 RAZR which will allow to assign custom actions,
like for example launch another application,
to those 4 buttons on bottom of device, physical buttons:
Menu, home, back, search ?
There is something like that in some roms, but currently i am using rom without such function...
So maybe there is standalone app allowing for it?
I've tested & exhausted all I could find on Google Play. What I need:
1. A way to either record or script screen taps by x-y coordinate etc.
2. Assign different sequences of screen taps to different h/w buttons, i.e. Macro1 is activated by Volume+ key, Macro2 is activated by Volume- key, etc. Optionally, long-press detection would be very nice.
Can anyone tell me if this app or functionality exists for Android?
Thanks
For example, to the menu button, i want to assign Screen filter app. When I press and hold the menu button, Screen Filter will start working.
I'm using Resurrection Remix 4.4.2 rom. These are similar settings but it isn't allowing to set an app. Is there any way to do it?
In CM12.1 official, I at least can set buttons open camera or search assistant or previous app. Unluckily you can't select a random app.
