Speaker

Hi there!
Where can I find software to use the speaker when I make calls?
Dont think you need any special software. Just push and hold down the green button for a few secs while making calls. The speakerphone feature should automatically activate.

T-Mobile Ameo or HTC Athena Phone usage

Hi Folks,
I have just a simple question,
Is it possible to use the T-Mobile Ameo or the HTC Athena as a normal mobile Phone without the build in speaker or a handsfree like it was possible with teh HTC Universal? There are users saying yes you can but the German Press is telling that you can only make calls with the build In speakers or with a handsfree.
Thanks for help

I can confirm that you won't be able to use it like a normal phone, you either use the build in speaker or headset, however, there is a trick, if you turn the volume down, you can use it "just like" a normal phone
Thanks for the answer!
AMEO no good as phone
Just received my Ameo tried to use it as a phone - yes you can turn the volume down but not low enough that everyone around you can still hear the conversation. I had the volume turned as low as possible (the in call volume setting) which is a bit too loud to put to your ear also the sound comes out of both speakers. The option to turn on/off the speaker phone is greyed out.
Fortunately you have seven days to send you device back if you ordered it direct from t-mobile...I had the vario II before but that kept locking up with TomTom...TT works great on the Ameo but I still need a useable phone. I was hoping to find a registry hack to enable you to turn the volume down and to perhaps turn off the other speaker whilst on the phone - anyone?
Hi,
I got the same idea and searched allready in the registry to lower the volume.
I didn't found it yet, but i am a rooky with registry. I keep searching!
any solution yet? i hate to use those cyborg looking bt headsets...
Any workaround taht enables the use of the phone as a conventional one yet? Thanks.
there could be some registry hacks about the built in speaker's volume during a call. I've found them but modifying them doesn't make any difference. However these settings work on just about ANY other sound that athena could make (aplications, alerts etc), but not the in call volume
I haven't tried it yet, but the Style-I by LG seems to be the best option for regular phone use with the Athena

Blutooth & Mogul question?

I have a Beetle H-1 Blutooth headset (http://tinyurl.com/5muhs9), designed for hearing aid wearers. Anyways it has an inline call/answer/hangup button on it.
If i take the headset off and put in my pocket, even with my phone locked it will still call the last person in my call list if the call button is pressed. Is there any way to disable this? At this point I have to turn off blutooth on my Mogul to keep it from happening but this is a pain. Any assistance would be great, thanks!
BTW I'm running: DCD 3.3.4 & Radio 3.42.5
I've had similar problems with BT headsets calling out from the pocket over the years. My old Moto h500 would dial if you breathed on it too hard. Unfortunately, I've never found a solution that will turn off just the button features I don't want when I don't want them. The partial solution I came up with was with AE Button plus. I assigned the BT on/off function to a button on the phone to make the process easier. One problem is that the headsets don't connect quickly when BT is turned on in the device, usually I end up turning the headset off and on to get it to reconnect. My ultimate solution was to replace the headset with one that doesn't have easy to depress buttons, though I don't think this will help you. Maybe someone else will has a better solution? Good luck!

BT Headset Problem.

I use an, admitedly ancient, Icon BT Headset for calls while driving, and all works well with one annoying problem.
With all other phones that I have used this with, the Headset synchronises completely with the phone. By this I mean that once connected, the phone's speaker is disabled and all keypad sounds, tones and other noises come through the Headset. To answer a call I could press "answer" on the phone OR press the button on the Headset, and the same to hang-up. Lovely Jubbly.
However, with the Blackstone, I have to Slide to Answer the Phone and then press the button on the Headset to activate that. Pressing the Button on the Headset alone does not answer the phone but instead tries to activate the Voice Dialling function, whether or not there is an incoming call.
The only noises that come through the headset, except while "in a call" are the ring tones.
Now, I ask, is this a problem with the Headset or, is that just the way things are with the Blackstone and BT Headsets?
If it's just that mine is old and knackered then I will get a new one, but i do not want to shell out for something that is not going to fix the problem.
OK. How about I rephrase the question.
Most of you out there use BT Headsets of some description. Which ones work like a common or garden phone?
Any? None?
Just want some advice before shelling out on trying to fix a problem that may or not be fixable.
Before you go spending money, try this software. It is fully featured and free for 15 days. It is an alternate bluetooth stack for Windows Mobile. See if it fixes your situation.
thanks for the advice.
been away, so only just got the message.
have installed. will report back with how it goes.
