Hey folks,
Can anyone advise as to the relative speeds of the roms available?
I have an Orange M3100 and it's a dog, whereas other models SEEM to be faster (I've not actually tried them though).
Does anyone have experience of the Orange rom and one of the others (iMate, Qtek or whatever)? Really need to know before flashing the rom and invalidating the warranty!
Cheers,
F.
The only rom performance comparison I've seen so far is this one:

It's TyTN 1.18 vs Cingular 1.30

Now that Qtek, T-Mobile, XDA II-O2, and iMate all have relatively recent ROM Upgrades can anyone tell me which is the best, or the pros and cons of each?
There has been so much press about the new XDA II upgrade. Why, because it is the first O2 upgrade or because it really is a great upgrade?
Now iMate has a new one, how does this one fit into the mix?
I still have T-Mobiles 1.60 ROM. Is it worth it to upgrade to the 1.60.36?
I'm not a big fan of running around upgrading to each new ROM, and I have no intention on switching ROM Brands, etc. I will stick with ROMs applicable to my MDA II device.
Do any of the new ROMs really fix all BT issues?
In general is one of the most recent ROM upgrades the best?
I suppose I might switch if one of the ROMs fixed everything needed.

Hi...
Anyone knows what is the deal with TomTom on the Qtek 8500? I have gotten one of those cracked versions available practically everywhere, to see what it looks like, but hey I get the screen wich is smaller then the physical screen plus that everything is blurred...
Anyone any experience ? The version I have downloaded was for the Windows Mobile smartphones, at least that is what it said, Which is by the way identical to the one wich is made for Symbian...
You need at least v5.2 for it to work with the QVGA display. You can download the v5.21 upgrade from tomtom.com. But of course this will overwrite any "patched" version you have...
Thanx mate, going to try that, although the version I am installing it says is 5.20...
Has anyone got a cracked version of TT 5 Mobile for me v5.20 for WM5 based smartphones
Thanx

the animated clock is not a patch, it is a theme for animated today, so it can not be included into roms. i´ve got the mda touch plus too, using the niki project v2 edited... works very nice.. by the way: you dont need cid unlock. just flash hspl, flash the rom, and you´re done
quick question, what rom you guys using? i'm using the sedna one and it seems to work ok but i keep getting dropped signals, texts not getting through despite the other person getting a delivery report, straight to vmails etc
i'm trying to figure out which rom is the best for tmobile uk
cheers
u speak about a radio rom...
yes, sorry, should have made that clear
using tom's edited rom and using the modded sedna radio rom at the mo
Tried them all...
I'm on T-Mobile UK too...
Tried all the roms and radios, having previously worked with Wizard, Artemis, Touch and Kaiser...
The ROMS for the Nike are nowhere near as varied as some for other devices... some of the newer ones have some nice themes and stuff, but IMHO, I always seem to end up with a ROM from and established cooker... I've used Tom's stuff on other devices, and his current Editor ROM is at least as good if not better than anything else around. I'm just trying the Sedna Radio with it, but haven't noticed any difference from the old radio yet.
My requirements aren't much - I run Opera Mini from within a java manager, and the in-cooked Jblend works fine, and as well as standard mail usage, and I launcher for my simple today screen, my main other requirement is SatNav, and TomTom7, IGO8 and Copilot all work fine - TomTom7 is less visually pleasing but is the most responsive and easiest to use in-car, so it's my choice. Bluetooth is fine for both GPS and my car stereo, so I can't really find anything in Tom's ROM to man about (except the missing GPRS icon!)
is the sedna radio better? also, just curious, why opera mini not opera mobile 9.5?

Opera Mini is faster and more useable. For 'normal' use, eg looking at message boards, forums, news etc, opera mini is super fast and easy to use. It does the rendering very quickly, and is simple and smooth... Opera Mobile is a bit slower and less useable, but still better than IE!
i just recently flashed to mighty rom 6 and i wanted to try out other ones just to see what other were like which one do other members think i should check out.
Try DCD
I have always had very good luck with DCD's ROMS

Mighty & DCD have moved on to other devices, and a lot has happened since they worked on TP...
NRGs ROMs are the best, by a long shot, of all the ROMs I've flashed.
Or, use a kitchen and cook your own - I'm using Calkulins Visual HTC Kitchen. Both available on PPCgeeks.com, which has a bigger CDMA selection than here.
For your gimped verizon TP, there is no better rom than SSK's 6.1 roms. The SSK 6.5's run well too, if that's what you like. The 6.1 roms are BLAZING fast though, and will leave you with more memory free than any other rom I've tried, even when running tf3d and tachi dialer.

best roms
well i haven't tried them yet but if i do ill try both but most likely ill try the 6.5 one first i have really started to like 6.5
best roms
just wondering what are we look at when it comes to ram i know that the htc tp is suppose to have 512 and 192 when it come mes to ram but i seems that none of the roms have that right now i have might rom 6 which is 6.5 wm
demolition rom ftw
i had good luck with a lot of energyroms but i think i've had the best luck with a rom by sss
I currently have...
HTC HD2 using..
OS version 5.2.21916
Manila version 2.5.20191914.0
ROM version Dutty's HD2 family ROM (V7) WWE
ROM date 15/11/2010
Radio version 15.42.50.11U
and I'm reasonably happy - everything works.
Thing is - I keep thinking I should install one of the latest ROMs.
Question is - what have I got to gain??
Should I or shouldn't I?
What do you experts think?
Thanks in advance
Ian
PS I know this is a "how long is a piece of string question" but I think your responses may help me decide.

Use this one. It will fulfill your wildest dreams on your HTC-HD2. It's the best in my opinion
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434860
Stick with it if it all works fine for you.
I am sticking with WM6.5.3 NRG 23699 as works flawless for me & Android is not the best platform for everything & the UI is an ugly muddle compared to the customised perfection you can have with WM6.5
If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Chasing latest ROMs & OS's can be fun but usually has issues that may not be acceptable pending on user device function requirements.
Although not been using my HD2 for the last two months after getting the Galaxy Note, however on my HD2 I have been using the very light ROM called CLEANEX RV for the last one year or so,and should say was very satisfied, very stable and fast never hung on me even foronce, one advantage is that it starts with over 280 Mb of free internal space, the only thing that I have done is to install couple of missing apps like the Market.
Its interesting that after using my GNote for two months now I can say that the only advantage it has over the HD2 are the applications graphical quality their abundance and screen size, believe me or not but I had applications on my HD2 which are more efficient than Android or IOS.!!
Sorry for straying away from the subject but I think that its pity that Microsoft has abandoned such a great and mature OS dumping millions of loyal WM users in the result.
Jack.
