I bought a used xda2 that i think had WM2005 installed with a romdisk ( whatever that is ) I have around 20 Xda2 devices that i use for my work all running WM2003 that have my software loaded to the Extended rom and Storage Folders.
I flashed the device and restored it to WM2003 that worked fine, but when you go into device information there is no extended rom version showing.
If i use Ext rom unlocker the folder appears in storage. When i do a hard reset the autorun does not start like all my other devices.
What seems to be the problem is that i think Fat1 partition has been removed and i now have only the Fat0 partion at around 31mb.
I tried taking an image from one of my other devices and flashing it but it doesnt restore the partition and neither did flashing WM2003 (1.72).
I either need to restore the Fat1 partition so that Ext rom folder goes in to Fat0 and storage folder goes to Fat1 just as factory set.
Or is there a way to change the autorun config file to run the software from the 1 partition.
I have searched forums for days now but cannot find a solution. There progs that will save and restore Fat0 but not to restore or create Fat1 partition.

So I want to format the internal storage. Got some folders and files from uninstalled apps that I want to remove.
I tried the soft reset(privacy options), checking the option to erase all the data, and I still have those items.
Tried a hard reset(volume +, home button, power button) and those items are still there.
Any other way?.

lol ..Ok when you are doing factory reset you are only deleting the 2 GB reserved for the ROM and apps.To format your internal card ..go to settings>>Storage>>Format USB storage
warning:everything will be removed(pics,music,etc.,) .Keep backup
Rooted phone and cwm boot to recovery mounts and storage format cache data system sd card phone now empty flash stock rom via Odin .

Wrote everything in google and it just pointed to the hard reset and I did it, tried in the user manual but I couldnt find it.

Installation:
Power down your device.
Power on device holding power button and both volume keys simultaneously.
Upon power up you will see the birds logo and 'enter recovery' text in the top left corner of the screen.
Use the volume keys to step through the menu, power to select and back. (there is bug in clockwork when you press volume keys it jumps 2 steps; to jump one step press and hold volume and then press power to select)
Select the "advanced->Partition SD Card" item, next select size for your Apps2SD partition (1024MB recommended), next select 0 as size of swap partition. (Remember that this will delete all data on your SD card, so make backup of SD card if you need !!!)
After the partitioning will be done select the "reboot system now" item.
Using USB cable connection or SD card reader copy yourcustomrom.zip to root folder of SD card.
Power down your device.
Power on device holding power button and both volume keys simultaneously.
Select the "backup and restore->Backup" item to make a backup of the current firmware in case something goes wrong. The backed up ROM should be located in: /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/date&time/
Select the "wipe data/factory reset->Yes – delete all user data” to clear old stuff.
Select the "install zip from sdcard->choose zip from sdcard" item and select yourcustomrom.zip
After flashing will be done select the "reboot system now" item. First boot may take a few minutes.

i have a THL 4400 and i tried to flash a new rom from needrom(dot)com(slash)download(slash)thl-4400-3
i placed the zip on the sd card and
-wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache
-install zip from SD card
-reboot
now it keeps showing the thl logo and rebooting 10 secs after that.
I cant press up and power to go to CWM and do it again.
Please help i feel kinda lost without knowing what to do.

did you try to change RAM with SD card? I mean to swap them. Like, to cheat the smartphone he believes that sd card is his internal memory? I'm sorry for asking, but i'm not english speaking, can't understand "tried to flash a new rom"...
