hello I´ve recover my m3100 from a dead brick (after used of universal sim lock) to full working phone
Her is my way
1. I´ve first try flashing a windows mobil 5 rom from my qtek 2020 on the m3100 for 2-3 times
2. then I´ve flas it with the new rom from Cingular ther are using bootloader 1,06..... and IT COME BACK ALIVE....
and if you have a HTC HERMES Then you just find a rom with you phons cid her

BUT REMEMBER IF YOU HAVE A ORANGE M3100 YOU CAN´T FLASH OTHER ROMS

I do not know what the flash didt to my hermes but it seems on usb monitor like it slowly after trying to flash the old 2020 rom 2-3 times went further and further in to the program. the screen turn silver and read USB like on the 2020. Every time it just stop (frozz).
Then I just try the new cirguler rom.
yes my m3100 is a orange001 cid -bootloader 1,04
I don´t know what the original rom was I think it was on off the first orange releast I got it 20/7-2006
(Do you whant me to upload the zip file containing my windows 5 mobile ?)
P.S. now my problem is that I can´t unlock the phone because imei-unlock do not suport bootload 1,06

It's ok, it was original rom from M3100... no problem, no need to upload anything.
If you have dead Hermes try to flash with Hermes_1.18.416.1_1.18.416.101_1.14.00.10_WWE_Ship.exe For me - it`s work.Regards

I did the popular mistake, tried to unlock with Universal Unlocker , thinking that this is the staff to unlock all the HTC phones.

What else I can do ? I was trying with QTEK rom and a got white screen on the phone and 0% on the computer. It was hanging. I tried 5 times. Then I tried to install the Radio Rom from here:

Yes, I was tying point 5 few times. The problem is, I can connect through mtty.exe without any problems, but after soft reset, I am pressing POWER and OK button and going to bootloader mode again, and when I am trying to flash the extracted radio ROM (i tried all of them = 4) and there is a problem. nothing is working. I am waiting and waiting, and there is only info: Checking your device information or something like that. What can I do ? Sorry for my English guys.
Instead of flashing an extracted radio image try to flash a normal shipped rom (if possible matching your cid). Capture the process using usb monitor to see where exactly it fails and which error you get.

I tried that ROM 2 times, once I plugged with holding camera button and second time without. I made monitor of QTEK rom aswell, because its the one which is changing phone screen from red green blue stripes to completly white. But nothing else is doin...
A attaching logs in zip file below. I have 3 files from each session, I dont know which are correct, 2 of them i saved and 1 is exported.
What do you think ?

very weird... usb seems not working but for what you say bootloader seems to be ok. Are you sure this was after patching the radio with universal unlocker? it seems totally a different problem :-$
I guess you'll have to wait until t-mob releases a ROM matching your CID and then flash it using the hermimg.nbh sd-card flashing method.
You can also try to connect to it via serial, I have no experience on that, but a search on these forums might tell you how...

Should I go to T-Mobile when I will be back to Scotland and tell them what I did or what ? Did I lose my warranty ? Do you know approximately how much they will charge me for flashing my phone ?

Until t-mobile releases a rom with your cid... it can be today or next year, I don't know.

I don't think you lost the warranty. They usually charge about 100 eur for flashing it back in the service centre. They do it by inserting a diagnostics sd card, but we don't have it for the Hermes

You can try flashing over serial port, and you can try sd-card flashing, but for sd-card flashing you need a rom matching your CID first.

Finally I made my device working again!
And I dont have simlock !
After trying everything.... ufffff.

1) I downloaded ftp://xda:[email protected]/Hermes/Tools_and_Programs/HTC_Hermes_SIM_Unlock_v1.zip
2) Reset my phone in bootloader mode.
3) Plug USB cable.
4) Run HTC_Hermes_SIM_Unlock_v1.
5) After 20 min. my phone said ELO to meeeee He did not have simlock when was saying that.

That was simple. If you have any Hermes radio problem, try that first - HTC_Hermes_SIM_Unlock_v1.

I tried to upgrade my imate jamin s200 to smart1_wm6_pp8mb. since the operation did not finished I unplugged the usb cable, therefore the machine didn't work and opening now. now some messages are appearing on the screen (IPL:2.15.0001; SPL 2.15.0001; GSM 02.19.21; OS:10.1.0.811)
i need your urgently help... How can i fix it this problem and upgrade my rom again?
Put your Jamin into bootloader mode (camera button hold+softreset with stylus), connect it via USB (not on a hub!!!!) with your PC and try to flash the last update of Qtek, Orange, iMate or something else you like! If your device booting after this correctly you can re-try the flash to WM6!

When you want to know what ROM you have flashed to your device, go to Start -> Settings -> System -> Device Information! Here you can find all information you need!
By the way: the latest Qtek update for the S200 is 2.20! You can find it trough Gooogle or the board search! Good luck!

Hi animelover,
Just a question...Do you use the OS extract tool to flash only the os without changing the IPL/SPL, or the roms that you wrote about have no IPL/SPL upgrade? I mean did you fash directly or you flashed only the extracted OS?

I tried to upgrade my athena (french rom) with wm6 english version, and it was the crash
the original rom is dammaged and athena w'ont start enven with hard rest ???
(I did unlock it, it was bought in belgium and its was sim-unlocked).

Enter Bootloader mode and check if it says SPL: Olipro
If yes, that you should be able to flash a ROM (the one for your device)
even without ActiveSync Connection
If not, you haven't unlocked correctly.

** SECOND : we must know that before we trying to do any updating or change roms on my prophet i just need to do which called unlock for the prophet and then we after that been able to change any rom on my ( jamin ) and of course u need to be careful about Your device is it G4 or G3 ,
# and how we know its G4 Or G3 ?
# when u start Your Device u will see some numbers on left,

-- Sync your device with computer and open the file u download it called HardSpl you will find two files one one foe G3 and G4 open your kind then you'll find a file called (( hardspl.bat )) okay, be sure your device is connected to computer then open the file and follow instruction and it will reset your device ,

What is the IPL and SPL?
If the wiki where up, I'd suggest looking at that, but as it is I'll explain it now...
What ROM where you attempting to upgrade to?
To get the device back, I would say "Read the wiki" but it's down!!!
Download this ROM.
In ActiveSync, disable "connect through USB" (File->Connection Settings).
Put the device into bootloader (the three coloured screen) and connect it to the computer using the USB cable.
Run the file you downloaded earlier. This should then install a new ROM.
From there, just wait for it to finish.
Now, it should work!
From there, you could re install the Orange WM5 ROM, or try upgrading to WM6. Make sure you read all the relevant guides first!

hi again brothers, pal zerocool. first u must unlock ur device to be able to accept any rom after that and solve pproblems.
first flash this rom its offecial and it solve dead prophet problems.
then make hard spl by program open file called hardspl.bat.
make hard reset.
flash ur rom u want.
make hard reset again.
then enjoy.
i uploaded the hardspl program but i couldnt upload the rom its so big so u can look in ur mail u will find the solution.
u can extract file by any program for zip.and tell me the news

Hi guys,
I have been using a sh... Nokia sine I broke my prophet G4 in december by upgrading the OS.
I had downgraded first to NVID and then I tried to upgrade and it fails at 95%.
Sine this day, my prophet seem totally dead, no light when plug on both charger or computer, windows do not recognize at all the device because it is turned off. And it really do not seem to charge...
I am living in China now and a guy told me I had to change the PB board...The ost is 100Euros, but I am almost sure I an find another solution...
The weird thing is I cannot charge it at all ( I mean no lights but does it charge a little?).
The guy tested my prophet with another battery and in that ase, it is stuck on the bootloader.
We tried several roms and it always fails at 95% and the error is 200 something, maybe 245 or 243, I do not remember sorry...
Is my phone hardware is dead? or it is just a software problem and I did not see the right guy?
Do I need to buy a new battery? I have read that sometimes the device is not able to recognize it even if it the offiial one and even if it is working on another device...
PLease help me I don't want to loose this phone that I've been using for almost 3 years...
Otherwise I will switch to an iphone but I am not sure to be as happy than I was with my prophet.

Can it enter bootloader at all?
If yes, what are the IPL and SPL?
If not, it will be a hardware problem (may just be connectors to the battery but may be something more).
the only way of recovery is using jtag
but 1st we must discover the location of jtag pins on motherboard
I just do not know because with my actual battery, anything is possible....
when I tried with the guy and a new battery it was blocked on the bootloader, but don't remember the IPL and SPL...sorry
I may be right about the battery onnectors though, but the problems seem to be from the phone connectors or the battery it self???

If it can enter bootloader, it is almost certainly your battery at fault!

But why is it still blocking at 95% when he tried to put a rom?
With his battery, it was stuck on the bootloader and not possible to install a rom, even a NVID WM5...

I am a noob in this area. I am reading the forum for the last days and trying to upgrade my i-mate jamin G3 but i always get stuck...
I started this thread as it involves more than one thread I read, namely
- Windows Mobile 6 Directory For Dummies
- New WM6 Upgrade Guide
- HardSPL guide and files
- Prophet Tools Light: Just the flash! & Prophet Tools: Simplify Flashing--V2.8.3 now up!
- Current upgrade guide for the most ROMs
- LAZYTOOL For all nk.nbf FLASHING + 3 color bootup SOLUTION + (PLEASE READ.........)
- WM 6.5 build 21501 Titanium [ Fixed ] & Fixed CommManager, and other ROMs I tryed...
- ...
so here it goes:
#1# I tryed to run HardSPL an I got an error message like this:
'One or more CON code pages invalid for your given keyboard'
so i guess i didn't work...
#2# then I tryed with ProphetTools and after doing the HardSPL it asks (in jamin) to run JumpSPL I click on yes and then I get white screen (in jamin) I click the flash rom and then I get either:
- error 260 or 274 - connection - this sometimes is worked around and got to 208
or/then
- error 208 - file open (and I did put the nk.nbf rom file in ...\Tools (as said on PTL) and also tryed in ...\Utils\Flash)
#3# While in white screen (achieved with PTL) I also tryed ROM 21501 (with its own RUU) and I get 3 colour screen after supposedly successful upgrade...
#4# also tryed lazyTool but got the same 3 colour screen
#5# With the no vendor NVID_RUU (got from lazy tool thread) I got it back to WM5 and working, pitfully i forgot to dump my original rom so now i am stuck in WM5 in English (i at least had it in Portuguese - my native L)...

im a total noob here too but i never encountered the same prob as you have.. i see SPL 2.20 right... so if you want to flash a ROM from here its required that you do HardSPL. i have a G3 device too. you might want to try this... i will try to help as much as i can...
make sure your USB cable/cradle is working perfectly and try to attached it at the back of your PC CPU...
and btw are you using XP or VISTA? coz i use XP...
just RUN HardSPL and let it do its thing... when its done check your SPL again..
