Yikes! where did all the threads go? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

hopefully temporary...
edit:
ahhh.... I see now. Default sort now only shows threads from the last day.

what? i don't understand the problem you are seeing.
Yesterday we changed the forum names from TyTN to Hermes and had some problems with sorting, but it should be solved AFAIK. If we missed anything please report it

My Display Options defaults have become:
Sorted By: Last Post Time
Sort Order: Descending
From The : Last Day
The last option used to default to "Beginning". Thus my initial confusion. I changed my profile options to overried the new forum default.

New ROM Pluses and Minuses

OK now that we've had about a week to digest the new Sprint ROM, I thought I would compile my own list of what is good and what are some issues with the new ROM update. It's been a dizzying week trying to keep up with all the updates and issues. Honestly I'm doing this thread for myself so I can EASILY keep track of some the current issues/threads that are being discussed about the new ROM. But if people want to chime in, I'll certainly keep on updating this thread. (Again, this is just a list for reference and NOT a thread to discuss specific issues).
Carrier: Sprint
DCD 3.0.0 ROM
The Good:
1. GPS Functionality (no brainer). The update seems to be lock faster than the leaked ROM. There has been many success stories.
GPS FAQ: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=363431
2. EVDO Rev. A Speeds. It varies in your area but it seems like the majority are getting it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=376616
3. Some minor updates.
Some Issues (these are the ones I've been following)
1. Slow IE
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=376746
FIXED (Thanks Ranger 093 - See Post #2)
2. Some Battery Issues: (although my battery life seems about the same). There are quite a few threads on this one. Didn't really find one that encompasses everything or found any specific cause.
3. No Bluetooth DUN - (actually read about this on PPC geeks). ICS and WMWifiRouter seems to work OK.
Seems to be a solution but I haven't tried it yet:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=377525
4. Audio adapter Issues: Looks like there is a fix but it required modification of your adapter.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=376623
Check out Post #14 for a diagram
5. SMS problems - I don't use this but if someone wants to chime in I can update it.
6. No GPS lock after Mogul goes to sleep: No solution yet but keeping my eye on it.
7. WM5Storage not compatible with Mogul
Evidently there is a hacked fix for it. Haven't had time to test it out yet. (see post #19)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=376133
Overall, for me the advantages outweigh the disadvantages but I will still be following them closely, hoping that there will be fixes for all this issues.
Scratch the Slow IE I provided a file that fixes it off of the kaiser forums. Check the second page of this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=376746
The only bug I'm having is that some of my calls have no audio when I pick up. It takes a reboot to get audio back on incoming calls.

I haven't noticed that on mine. Is that a known problem (that most are experiencing)?

It depends on your post per page setting. I have 30 posts per page IIRC, so I only see one page.

In that case - the cab file is in post #15.

Dates of Old Events: Problems

Hi,
I bought the Hero (the HTC Hero ) for my wife a couple of months ago and she reported a problem recently.
She has several relatives on her contact list (grandmother etc.), who were born before the year of 1945.
So, when entering a birthday for such a contact the dates which appear in contact details after pressing ok, are displayed incorrectly.
E.g. a birthday falls on 10.01.1929. You enter this date, press ok and see that the date which is displayed is one day earlier, 09.01.1929 (or one day later? I don't remember exactly).
You go to re-enter the date again, thinking that you just mistyped it, - no, it is displayed ok inside the settings (10.01.1929).
This problem is applicable for all dates earlier than 01 January 1945, if I remember correctly.
Anyone?
Thanks in advance.
Guys!
Can anyone at least try to set a birthday for a contact with the date in the said interval (earlier than 01.01.1945)?
I just need to confirm that this is a general OS bug and I am not alone.
Thanks.
I have the same problem. I didnt find any solution for that.

Need a bug fix for 24h clock on some locales.

Right now i'm using VillianRom 12.0.0, but this problem seems to be in every ROM that i use the locale "Norwegian (bokmål)".
The 24 Hour clock shows just "12.03" instead of "12:03", on both the statusbar watch and the lockscreen watch. (Attached images).
It seems it's not only the "Norwegian" locale that has this problem, but also some Finnish locale?
Anyways, does anyone got a fix for this bug?, some simple setting or something?
Can't be that difficult?
Flashed the Official OTA 2.1 ROM.
The Problem is the same there, so this is a mistake from HTC (again.)
Have contacted the HTC Support (In Norway), and they just said that the new "OS" is full of bugs, and mistakes.
When i asked for when a OTA or a Manual update is rolled out, they simply closed my Ticket...
Anyways, seems this problem is going to exist for a long time..

Hmmm. Is it just the dot instead of the colon that's the issue?
Maybe I can try and find the localisation and fix it...
Yeah, that's the problem.
Would be awesome to fix it, since i see it everyday.
Offtopic, but where did you get that lock screen wallpaper?
I think it's a wallpaper i got from deviantart.com Should be somewhere at "Customation --> Wallpapers --> HD Wallpapers." And then the most popular, or something.
Rainy Day, i belive.

Bumping your own thread after 6 minutes? Wow, demanding much?
You're using a ROM based on a leaked, buggy, unstable ROM and should therefore expect problems. If you encounter them, instead of making a new thread, read the thread(s) for existing issues. A search of that ROM's thread for "wallpaper" returned 171 results.
Do some searching and reading. If you do that and can demonstrate that you've tried and are still having issues, refer back to the statement above.
Otherwise revert to a stock, officially released ROM and contact Samsung for any support you need in future.

Help needed with Einstein's Riddle

I am seeking some help with Einstein’s Riddle by Rottz Games. The puzzles categorized as Hard, for me, are easy – I have managed to solve several hundred of them without any issues. However, I have run into an issue with a puzzle categorized as Extreme...
Without giving too much away, the way I solve these puzzles is to first solve one row, and from there, solve the rest of the puzzle. While some might feel that the selection of the first row is random luck, I have a process that usually results in the proper first row’s being selected about half the time.
The issue I am having is with Extreme puzzle 18. I have tried each row as the first row, but am unable to solve this puzzle. I have double checked my efforts and have not made any stupid mistakes. My (initial) questions are simply these:
Have you found a solution to this puzzle?
If you have found a solution, and if you use a process similar to mine for solving the puzzle, which is the first row that worked? (My best results, i.e., the most items removed, were with row 3 and row 5 as the first rows.)
