I have an M3100 and flashed to the cingular ROM which changes the keyboard layout. Is there any where to changes this back or a cab in the extended which does this? Any help would be appreciated

I think ExtROM is also an important part of upgrading the phone's ROM because I think from what I have read that it makes it possible to use certain provider functions so I am looking for where to get the ExtROM version 2.11.255.105 so that I can have certain functions on my TyTN. I am planning to upgrade my WM5 to WM6 and would also like to be able to write special characters for my language for example, å,ä, ö and so on. Does anyone know where & how I can get that?
Or does anyone think this ExtROM could be extracted from my previous ROM? I could send my WM5 ROM-2.11.255.2 if it could be extract

Thanks for the link but the extended rom im looking for isnt there... could it be possible to extract it from my present ROM? I want to install it after upgrading with the 838Pro_HK_ENG_WM6_Upgrade_20070712 ROM.
Do you think I can use special characters like å,ö,ä when I install that 838Pro_HK_ENG_WM6_Upgrade_20070712 ROM?

Sorry fore delaying. Yes u can flash your ExtRom to Wm6.
Yes u can still typing ö ä å but u must have an extra file. install this file witch is fore Nordic hard kbd. Actually u can install it on SD If u want 1.8Mb. U can find the Finish input “dictionary” and T9 text inputif u searching good

I think the Extended_ROM you are looking for is from the last HTC WM5 build; I have it at home and could post it in about 3 hours.
I have attached the Extended_ROM from the WWE HTC ROM 2.11.255.102 WM5.

I was looking through the wiki of shipped roms for another reason and noticed this footnote at the bottom:

As topic. This is a tread for Chinese users. I have tried many input methods that really work for my ATOM for the new ATOM WM6 AKU0.3.0 WWE. It seems that almost many of the Chinese input software is NOT fully working with these WWE vesion.
Software that I've tested:
- CESTAR 2.8 R3A (not working, will freeze O2 and need hard reset)
- Monster Chinese 6.0 (not stable)
- A4 SIP (A4_QVGA_v2.0.14.CAB) works well but only Simplify Chinese
- A4 SIP (A4_QVGA_v2.0.30.CAB) cannot call input method
- CE-Star_Big5C works ONLY on CHT device.
- Q9PPC(9方) WM6 NOT stable
- ChinaFEP_No5en.zip cannot call input method
Guys, if you found some input method that fits working, please share with us.

The attached is working for me at the moment but i still prefer Plum 5.0.2 as it support T9 Eng Plus T9 style Pinyin. Hopefully someone can get it to work with Atom WM6!!

I am amazed by this new wonderful Rom by JIGGS. I've been looking for a Chinese input method for 2 days now and only the one posted in this thread works for me now. I went to read the post by Jiggs about CHT ROM but that is not what I am looking for. I just need a CHS input method that support T9 PinYin.

ZTA4 Chinese T9 Pinyin is supported in AKU0.7
I TESTED it and its working fine concurrently with phonepad.
Let wait Jiggs to release it then i will post it here.
isn't it PlumSIP5 cannot support in WM6 AKU0.3.0 ? becoz i try to install it , but at the same i can't read chinese . i also have a same need with agboa , so agboa , do u mind 2 share with me wht u do on ur ppc to view CHS words and input pinyin. thanks a lot ~

how would i go about downgrading back to the origional cingular 8525 rom? i have upgraded to the wm6 black edition and the keyboard is messed up. is it at all possible to downgrade back to wm5 for the att or cingular 8525?

No need to just search for Advancedconfig install to your phone and go to the Misc. tab then change your keyboard to Cingular. Or else search the WIKI and see how to do it using the registry
oh also, when i upgraded, it says i dont have a data plan, so how would i add the data number and info to my phone so i can go on the internet again
but still if i wanted to downgrade back to the original os how would i?
To go back to the original you would probably need the original flash from ATT/Cingular. I believe you can get it from their support web site.
The problems you have are fixable though. You need to edit your registry for the qwerty keyboard and install the "cingular.cab" on your phone to get your data connection back (or manually set up the connection).

Check this link for downgrade help.
Cingular ROMs (which can be un-rar'd and then extracted with dutty's good nbh tool to get the pieces of the ROM if you only want pieces) can be downloaded from the wiki here.

Ho do you do the advancedconfig install? I searched the forums with no result.
I-mate released something useful recently called i-mate Configurator for WM5 and 6.
I just tried it on my JAMin .... & all my problems with connections "esp. GPRS" are solved now
It will be cool if the cookers will add this to their roms instead of HTC network wizard which was missing lot of countries.

Won't start on a home cooked WM6.1 ROM.
And there is no way to remove it!
i already upgrade my cingular 8525's ROM with cooked ROM from this forum..
