Hi,
are there stronger batteries for the Hermes device available?
Shipped one is about 1350mAh, maybe a third party offers 1900mAh.
I have seen a 1500 mAh ones, but I think some 3rd party battery manufacturers are a tad "optimistic" when they state their batteries capacity, so i dont know if they last much longer than the original battery.
There are indeed some compatible and HTC original batteries (same as for HTC Apache) with capacities up to 2800mAh, but there are no compatible battery covers for the Tytn yet, since the batteries need extra room, thus battery compartment extension.
3000mAh soon: http://www.lionbattery.com/description.php?noproduit=473
Boy! Can't wait til they come out with that one!
More Power More Power !
WOW They even have a 4800mAh now
http://www.lionbattery.com/description.php?noproduit=324
Could you imagine.. This would be a small heavy weapon sorta.. You could throw this and really hurt someone.. Just the weight of the unit with this power pack.. YIKES..
4800mAh is for Universal.
Mugen Power Netherlands rep say they are working hard on a same-size-as-original power battery with around 2000 mAh. Waiting for that one. Of course the price needs to be right, not 1/10 of the deviceĀ“s price.

A stronger battery would be great.
I got one of the advertised 1500mah batterys off of ebay today for $20. When it gets here i will do a battery comparison and update you on the resaults.
is it physically the same size as original?

i believe the one i bought is the same one as kramer11's but it's about the same size as original. seems slightly thicker but you won't notice the difference.
you probably won't notice the battery life difference either as it is only 150mah difference. i ended up purchasing a 3000mah one and have started using it from today. it makes the device thiker but it's a great stuff that comes with a replacement battery cover. recommended for anyone who wants longer battery life.
I dont understand why the hermes battery is twice the size as the htc wizard and is only 100mah more.
Anyone ?

Can you post some pics regarding how does this battery look on your TyTN? And how is that working out? Would really appreciate some more details .. Also, where did you buy it from?
How about this one?
http://www.boxwave.com/products/hig...ded-battery-htc-wizard-cingular-8125_1160.htm
It's for the 8125/Wizard
Would it work in the 8525 / TYTN?
--sorry some how i missed posting the link, how useful was this post?
Boxwave battery response
I requested that boxwave look into compatibility of the ElectraSpan Extended Battery (which allready works for the 8125/Wizard) for the 8525/TYTN.
The response I received from boxwave was they would look into the request but it depends on requests (demand) received as to how quickly they will develop/offer the new products.
So here is the link to request the extended battery for the 8525:
http://www.boxwave.com/community/request/request_model_103.htm
Fill in your name and email and then a quick note telling them you have the 8525/TYTN and hit submit. If enough of us request this battery they'll probably bump it up on their priority list.

Done. I used one under which I've ordered from them before, so maybe that'll pull a tiny bit more weight than a random e-mail address....

Interesting that they never bothered to tell me, but Boxwave is showing the extended battery on their site now:

Nice capacity (2500 mAh) but it blows away the same leather case they sell that I just got for my Cingular 8525 I'll wait for battery technology to get slimmer, thank you very much. In the meantime, I just acquired a second 1350 mAh battery so I can pop it in if needed.

Hey guys, well I got a replacement 8525 today. The new 8525 (now branded AT&T) came with a 1300mAh made in China by Sanyo battery model HERM 160. My old 8525 has a 1350 mAh made in Taiwan by DynaPack Co battery. model HERM 161
I know that the 1350 mAh is supposed to last longer, but which one has quality cells? So which battery should I keep?
Sanyo has a pretty good reputation for batteries. I wouldn't worry about it much as you'll probably be looking for a jumbo battery soon if you use it much.
i would go for the dynapak, ive had that in my prophet and it was really good, however Sanyo is probably the best cell manufacture (if its not counterfit)
I have both, and get much better life out of the 1350 battery... The Sanyo has less battery life, for me...
Hi, is there a choice for more powerful battery (1500mAh or more, for ex.)?
I've had very good results with batteries from Seidio. The 8525 pack from them is labeled 1500mah "Japanese Cells assembeled in Taiwan". I have two and they are excellent.

3000mAh battery It is the biggest available for the Hermes. Also cheaper than boxwave and others on ebay. Only about $27 including the shipping.
Holy Crap! The next choice will be one of those hats with a battery strapped to each side with a coil cord dropping down to the phone, now that's power on tap!

Yes!
I chose a single battery to charge up and simply keep on me for emergencies as my WM6 rom keeps my default battery topped up for well over 2 days.
I wanted a long life battery but decided to stay with a thin phone as it would mean messing about each time i sat it in the desk top charger or case.
Each to their own though.
The single battery charges remarkably quick and lasted ages so am using it instead of the 1 month old original. The seller is VERY quick and also sells other size hermes batteries too.

Looks like it's the 1500 mah battery. I saw the Seido one, but they were charging like $50 for the whole thing (including shipping to SF, CA). I saw this site, and it looks decent, so I ordered from there for much cheaper...

If I get forked on this, I'll be sure to rave loud and hard to everybody, but I'm not that concerned. I used PayPal so at least I didn't have to give out my CC number. Site doesn't look that high quality, but if they have the goods and deliver the goods, no worries.

I used a CS 1500mAH in my TYTN, not better than the serial battery. Today I used the mugen 1500mAH, very better.
I think CS is cheaper but they have not the full capacity they sell.

Interested too, any response?
I asked when batteries should come and they responded:
Hi, We don't have an ETA for the extended batteries, the standard batteries are coming into us later th is week. Best regards, Easy Devices Sales Team
I see they list the voltage as 3.7v, but the battery for the Hero is 4.2v according to the picture on the HTC accessory website (I don't have my G2 with me to check).
hmmmm interesting!
well, the battery in my hero is indeed 3.7v.
I guess that expansys (who run the accessory site for HTC) have done their usual stuff of putting the wrong picture up.
Finally! Batteries have arrived!

Says you need the cover that is supplied with the battery, you can tell by the shape of the cover that is supplied that it's different!
Barring any breakthrough it storage density, you will always need a bigger battery cover to work with a almost 2x capacity battery

I had a battery like that in my G1 and I hated the extra bulk in my pocket. I think the extra bulk on the hero would be even worse. I like the sleekness of this phone
Just ordered one of the eBay extended batteries myself, I dont like that the cover is white but will report back how the battery performs.
Mine arrived this morning, The battery indicator has been at full all day and still is.
It even still fits in my Krusell leather slip case ok as well.
I still dont like it being white but it sort of goes with the titanium of my orange branded hero.
The back cover was a perfect fit as well by the way, all the clips went in to place perfectly.
Very happy chappy so far.
have invested - same they only do white cases but a cross I have to bear.
will report back on life span etc.
can anyone confirm if they had to give it a full 16 hour charge or just the standard hour or so through the mains?
cheers

ive always used mugen powered batteries when it came to extended, they are the best quality out there. a little pricey but the best.
for the touch pro they have two out so far:
1800mah STANDARD SIZE battery. i am looking into getting this one because their is no need for a extended backpeice, its the original size.
http://www.mugenpowerbatteries.info.../es109514_es120302495377/Products/HLI-T7373SL
the second one is a 4500mah extended battery that comes with a new backpeice.
http://www.mugenpowerbatteries.info.../es109514_es120302495377/Products/HLI-T7373XL
one question i have is, will the backpeice fit the tmobile US touch pro 2 ? the tmo us touch pro is just a flat cover that dosent go around the edges, but looking at the unbranded tp2 and the backpeice goes around the edge. so are they a different size or the same ?
in opinion, which one is a better value ? taking into thought the size difference
I would get the 1800mAh for 2 reasons.
1. Better value for money.
2. No extra battery cover needed. OEM TP2 fits fine with 1800mAh
If you do buy the 1800mAh, please do post a review...
also if you look on the mugen website, they also have a 3000mAh for $80 which fits the TP2 but a extended battery cover is needed which is supplied...
I'll surely go for the 1800mAh. not that pricey after all, if it really gives that 20% more usage time with no need for weird battery covers and so on! I've been crossing my fingers for months hoping to see a standard size / increased capacity battery!
moreove mugen power batteries are well known all over the world as I can see, and much appreciated by many users, which is good!
wow I'm so happy! jayizzbakk you're the man!
UPDATE: all htc touch pro 2 t7373 batteries are currently out of stock. I wonder when they'll be back on stock again??
I purchased one of these on eBay without thinking. No it doesn't fit the Tmobile USA Touch Pro 2.
<http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370245860031&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT>
I'd think having a 4500ma battery for trips etc would be great.
I'm guessing the one you listed is not for the Tmobie Touch Pro 2 either.

no problem, im also waiting for them to come into stock. im afraid that it wont be a big difference
I don't think there is is an extended battery with a rear cover made for the At&t fuze...\
I too went on ebay, bought a 2800mah and cover, not realizing what the descript meant by unlocked (unbranded)
blasted the seller with negative feedback, there in hong Kong, even if they where to credit mysale and shipping both ways, I wouldn't have been satisfied, for the time I waited and that was with me paying express.... they should have written Unbranded, not unlocked(unlocking is software, un branding is hardware) Period
i saw the exact same one, and was thinking that unlocked has nothing to do with it lol
im hoping they can make an extended with a rear door in mind of the tmo tp2 users.
im really looking into the standard size extended because this phone is already big and heavy, no need for a size boost
I was liking the idea of something like the HTC Battery bank but it's kinda expensive. What do you guys think about making something like this:
http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/ele/1331980387.html
Would that even work, or worse yet, would it harm the device. Too bad I just sold my MDA or I'd have an old piecer to test it on.
I haven't seen any real high AAA Lipo, maybe 1,000 - 1,500 Mah not any improvement
Unbranded Extended Battery
I did the same... I bought the unbranded 2800. I just looked and seen that it wont fit. I bought it on the 22nd and they put a note saying it would only fit the unbranded on the 24th... So now I have to wait for it to get here, just to send it back...

probably after I gave them neutral feedback, Listen I waited over a week to get it and paid the express shipping, its not a total lose, cause the batter is still good, but there is nothing they can do to make me happy, short of refunding me the whole sale, and I wouldn't want or expect that, so.... "just changed unlocked to unbranded" sothis don't happen to anyone else

I wonder if this is correct: 1800mAh is 20% more than 1500, so is it correct to assume that it will increase my phone life of nearly 20% (likely less - but HOW MUCH less?)?
There are some 1800mAh batteries for the TP2 on ebay but I can't imagine a $1.50 battery is going to do much besides melt my phone.
and what about that:
http://cgi.ebay.fr/HTC-Touch-Pro-2-...3?hash=item20ad159355&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177
It's hard to tell how thick the back cover is

Looking for an extended battery that fits in the OEM battery socket, using the original backdoor.
Does anyone know a good quality battery like that?
UPDATE: Ok, after doing my research I went for Mugen's 3350mAh one.
Reasons:
- I'm an electrical engineer and I hardly believe that you can add extra 1000mAh to the same size battery as MPJ claims and sell it for 19$ - that reminds me of my experience with cheap batteries on eBay (They remove the original label from expired batteries, put a fake and sell for cheap money). There is simply no such technology out there. I bet, Texas Instruments would instantly publish such stuff on Gigaom and it would be Breaking news.
- Mugen seems to be a respected brand among tech reviewers. I found reviews about them on Pocketnow, Engadget and Android Community.
No. Not gonna happen.

Too many times these batteries bigger than Samsung put out as OEM are proven to be les than advertised or even die quicker than stock. I'm not optimistic about it but i'm definetly awaiting your review.

Did some research also n it seems great...but i am considering the 8500mah one now.
Any "extended" battery that fits with a stock battery door will only give you a few minutes more of operation if the advertised capacity is true. I would guess it would offer you less than thirty minutes more. Not worth the money. With all the standard extended batteries I've owned, that needed a custom battery door cover, gave 1.5x more run time at the very most. More times than not, two OEM batteries lasted much longer than the extended. Unless you are willing to talk about zerolemon batteries, then I would say it's a waste of money and time. Most ratings of these extended batteries are exaggerated greatly. You're lucky if you get 1.25x more uptime when compared to OEM. The quality of OEM cells are much better than third party batteries. Zerolemon might give you close to 2x more runtime, but they still aren't as much quality and have as much life, over the long run, as an official OEM battery. To get an "extended" battery that fits a stock battery door is a waste of money. The increase of run time is hardly noticeable to make the purchase worth spending the money on.

What you say is true if only I'd get this battery and only use it, however I get it to swap with original because I don't want to alter the design of the phone. So once my original is showing low charge I swap it with the new one, so I don't think it's a waste of money.
Zerolemon is not my choice in the end - I checked them online and was not impressed. Does not look professional. I went for Mugen, because according to the feedback from respected tech sites their quality is very good.
OP you should keep in mind that these batteries are not quality tested like the original one's are, and they might catch fire and hurt you.
There have been several cases of phones catching fire or blowing up, and most of the times the reason is an unauthorized battery.
e.g. http://www.phonearena.com/news/Samsung-Galaxy-S-III-that-injured-18-year-old-girl-exploded-due-to-third-party-battery_id45509
If something like this does happen, Samsung will not help you or fix the phone for you, even if you are under the warranty period.
So always be cautious while using an unauthorized battery.
Just don't see how you can really cram that much add'l capacity into the same size battery for such a cheap price. Where's the trade off?
I'd like anyone who gets one of these to report back after using it for a few weeks to see how they hold up.

what about the one in question? It offers 150mah extra. I know it's not too much, but if using two batteries (OEM + this one) it all comes up to 6550mah if I'm not mistaken, which is good.
Samsung spend millions of dollars on researching batteries. So these batteries can not keep goal.

So why not just spend the money on a samsung battery. No worries. No issues. No checking to see that 150mah you're not going to get. Just get another stock battery. I already have mine with charger. Was $25 after tax on samsung website but after 50% off coupon.
sent from my sm-9005.

I don't have 50% coupon and I'm not from US. That battery will cost me more than Mugen.

You don't need to buy the charger, You can buy just the battery and swap it when the first one is dead. It's somewhere around 17-20 $ on eBay. I don't think it should be a problem ordering it where you live, or you can have it shipped to any of your friend or relative and tell them to send it to you.
Hi
I would like to buy an extra battery and ive seen in ebay some 4000 mah and 3800mah.
Does this higher capacity batteries fits the phone without making it thicker
Many thanks!

This piqued my curiosity so I checked out eBay. They don't appear to include any sort of custom back so I would surmise they're the same size as the original battery. I would still be skeptical of these but if you buy one be sure to give us your review.
