latest official version from most dealers of himalaya is 1.72
there is one norwegian 1.75 rom though
then there is a chineese 2003SE version
which have also been manualy translated to english
then there is a leaked beta version of 2005
Where can i download ROM 1.72.00 WWE.. i guess that the most stable verision released so far for the XDA II. can someone help me with the link to the rom.

Hi guys. I have the following:

ExtROM Version: 1.60.44
Of course, I don't know what any of that means but would appreciate one of the Gurus on this site to suggest a suitable upgrade for me. Something tried, tested and suitable for technophobes like me (ie simple download, copy to device and run .exe?).
I am living in Singapore so a suitable Asian version please.
Also, does anyone have any problem with the ringtones on the XDA II (Himalaya)... I am forever missing calls because it just doesn't seem loud enough. My old mobile/hand phone had the neighbours complaining of noise pollution.
Is there a solution for this?

Try the SE CHS version, located on the FTP site. You should.

and tried the CHS translated and it made the screen all skippy and it was impossible to setup, etc. So what I did was I just used the genuine wm2003se in the wiki and created my own extended rom, much easier ;D
How can I save the ROM that was shipped with Touch Dual? I would like to try different, but want to be sure that anytime i can take it back so that i dont loose guarantee. My original Rom:

thanks. i will try it. but how will i find if i was succesful. i mean if I save the rom to a file, i will be quite afraid to load it back into the device until i'm sure the saved rom is working and will not freeze my device forever

Was thinking of flashing the latest WWE_5.07.707.2_Radio_Signed_Raphael_52.58.25.30_1.11.25.01 ROM, so took a dump of my original ROM
If anyone is interested in taking a look, please let me know, which part I should upload.
