Is it true there will be an 8525 shipping with AKU 3.0? I know it is slightly different from the TyTN as in no internal camera but can we steal AKU 3 from it for our TyTN's?
No AKU 3 for hermes yet, they ship with 1.34

Here is a response from HTC UK about the AKU 3.2:
We are expecting a ROM update come Q1 2007, but no official date has been set as yet.
So I guess we'll have to wait and see. I personally would prefer to use an official ROM at least till I have warranty on my device.

Seems the old HTC habit of releasing AKU updates late continues, as they seem to be concentrating on releasing new devices and ignoring devices already released. They seem to have missed the whole point of supplying the device themselves and not going through a carrier. Lets hope other makers like Asus and Gigabyte can step up to challenge HTC and hopefully provide better support.
Updates for the TyTN/JASJAM have been incredibly slow to arrive.
Can somebody tell me if the RW6815 is the same as the Atom?

No Atom is not same as you specified model.

ARE U SURE ABOUT THIS INFO..COZ am trying the ATOM cid unlock solution without success.
How to Flash ATOM ROM on RW6815....
to Achieve sim unlocking
Yeh im still new and picking up my HP IPAQ RW6828 today but from what ive read on these forums so far, and correct me if i am wrong.
The HP IPAQ RW6800 models arent capable of flashing O2 Atom roms due to a lock/ encryption on the RUU.
...and I think the HP IPAQ RW6828 is a better comparison to the O2 Atom (not exec). Build wise based on peoples opinion the O2 leaves fingerprint marks on the gloss body and also is a little less durable to hits compared to the HP. But to be honest I dont mind a nice gloss
But besides that i think you referring to it being better might be for the fact that the rom is more stable. Although now O2 is releasing newer roms with fixes and yeh thats my 2 cents.

so far all the releases i've seen are for ppc. am not even sure there is a smartphone (as in no touch screen) version yet. please correct me if im wrong.

6.5? For what? The major update is irrelevant here - honeycomb buttons, finger-gianted menus and finally - sliding panels home we already have built-in for more than 6 months...
At least I have no real OS bugs in s740 noticed here and my Rose neither. Small improvements could be implemented by minor patches...
AVE...
If I remember correctly, the WM6.5 update will be available for official download on 11th of May, in 5 days from now.
And I don't think there weren't any ROM patches for Rose released. Not officially.

It was my understanding that 6.5 does NOT add much functionality to WinMoStd, or at least enough to make it worth updating to it. Most of the 6.5 updates are geared to the touchscreen phones. Word is, that 6.5 actually adds even MORE ways that your handset could be restricted by a carrier or 'corporate' (for those whose phone is controlled via policies by their employer).
I'll stick with my 6.1, thanks
