HI everyone,
I wanna know if anyone with bought a HTC Tytn to tmn (cellular phone operator in Portugal), has done a upgrade to his Htc Tytn ?
And if yes! What rom did you use it? Is it working perfectly with the tmn operator for phone proposes?
Another question, I read the FAQ's but I didn't get this part very well, if I upgrade my Htc tytn that has a portuguese rom with bootloader 1.04 to another rom (in english) with boot loader 1.06 .. to downgrade I need the portuguese rom or can I use another rom but with boot loader 1.04?
Just to mark it, there isn't any portuguese rom available at the moment

You need a portugese ROM with 1.04 bootloader, which as you said is not available. I'd suggest you to CID unlock (make device SuperCID) before going to a ROM with bootloader version different than 1.04.

Does anyone know how to upgrade the bootloader on an xda2. Have a number of units with old roms (1.02) which we want to upgrade to 1.72 rom image. The rom updates but not the bootloader. Problem is the unit i use to build the rom images i use is a 1.02 bootloader and a desperatly need to upgrade this.

I have bootlooader v1.01 and I had these opsystems on my device with no problem:
v1.3 ger - o2
v1.6021 wwe - qtek
v1.6036 wwe - t-mobile
v1.66130 wwe - qtek
v1.72126 wwe - imate
v1.72187 wwe - o2
v2.0600 wwe - o2
and now win2005 mobile
so why would / want to upgrade?
afaik higher the bl version harder to downgrade / play around (correct me if I am wrong)

I have updated my O2 tytn (bootloader 1.04) with the dopod rom.
I like it but I want to try the new Imate rom.
I have tested it but I don't like it, I prefer dopod rom.
Now, I want to return to dopod but the bootload is 1.06 now.
How can I return to the first rom?
Now I'm flashing it with the original rom from O2, the only one I can use.
The problem is that I want an English rom.
There is someone who know the solution for this problem?

Flash a 1.04 bootloader with your original CID (o2). then you will have to flash back to the dopod.

Do what barrydavisjr suggests, and when you are on 1.04 bootloader then CID-unlock your device, then you don't have to worry about bootloader version anymore.

I saw that there was a link to the new SFR voda V1605 fimware with native 3G+ so of couse i ran to get it WITHOUT reading that the BL was 1.06.
i wanted to superCID and ulock the radio before and now i cant do it.
the only way is to find an old vodafone v1605 firmware with BL 1.04
can anyone help?

From what i got, i suppose this is the last avaiable update from htc for the tytn:
"HTC English QTEK_001 1.35.255.2 11/14/06 1.35.255.102 1.18.00.10 32.55.7018.01H 14955.2.3.0 2.3 1.09"
Is it correct?the fact that its from htc means that i can flash it without unlocking the tytn, without making it a supercid?am i wrong?
Does it involves any sim lock, block or anything else bad for my phone?
i forgot to say that im italian and my tytn is a htc one and not branded in english

Tnx ruddur, but i already looked there, i was asking if the rom i said its the last one from htc, if i can flash it in my not branded tyth htc without making it super cid (and making void the warranty)...
And another question about the rom:i read is from htc south africa, does it means that the cid is not matching my english tytn or not?

All your questions are answered in the wiki, and in the relevant thread for this rom. It is actually the last shipped rom available here from HTC, it can be flashed in any Hermes device with bootloader 1.04 or CID "QTEK_001" and it will put bootloader 1.09 on your device if you flash it.
If you plan to use any ROMs that don't match the CID on your device you should better CID unlock it first, or make sure you have a way to downgrade the bootloader to 1.04.
As said, read the wiki before asking the same questions over and over again, it's all explained in the wiki.

Hello from South Africa,
Now that we have been advised by HTC Europe of a new ROM at the end of January, I suggest you hold on a bit longer.
This will be a major upgrade as can be seen on the threads.

I have htc tytn with Swedish spl 2.31 but I want english HOW ???
found arabizer and that worked but then the words werent joined correctly.
so I reset and now its just in Swedish.

Personally, if I was you, Hard SPL your Hermes 1st, before flashing a new rom.
It makes life easier if something goes wrong with the flash. You at least have a chance of recovery. You can find the thread at the top of the upgrading section to download Hard SPL V7.
