What about that ROM interests you? Is it even appropriate for a G4? Perhaps a search of the forums for info on that ROM might help. There is also the WIKI http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=277976

yes that just means that you need to add your provider gprs settings to get on the internet for your device what service provider do you have?

Right firstly dont shout at me if by spending the last two nights constantly looking at this website with little sleep to find a solution to my problem when the problem has already been recolved on this website.

I have been using the phone on T-mobile faultlessly (except answerphone)
I am now on orange but get the dreaded
"the phone is not ready. please wait 15 seconds and try again"
i have now been waiting 48 hours and it still dont want to have it. I have use of phone but not of txt or settings.
I think this problem has been solved by flashing the ROM and well that gets me in to all sorts of problems as mine is a G4 and the only way currently to unlock a G4 is using the iemi website which is very much mentioned on this site. I am prepaired to do this of you think it will work?
1. firstly is there another way?
2. secondly ive searched forum after forum trying to resolve these issues with people recomending files and software and all with different procedures to install a new rom. does anyone have a recomendation on which ROM to choose and what tool to use to do it? and where to get the downloads?

In a nutshell
Like many others i have searched this site and still do not understand unlocking and ROM flashing. I did try to do a ROM flash to the k-jam 2.16 ROM update where i got an error [296] please upgrade NBP? i figured later that it would probably only work on a G3?
I am desperate to get this working and soooo lost!
Am currently downloading wizard_love ROM which apparently does not require an unlock. But then its only a Radio upgrade and may not solve my problem

for those of you finding this with the same problem here is a STEP BY STEP guide!
1: go to ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/
2: Click on "Wizard"
3: Click on "ROMS"
4: Click On "Other_unknown"
5: Click on "Wizard_Love_2.26.10.2_WWE_Novii+CF2.rar"
6: be patient it will eventually download this site does not have a great upload speed it may also fail a few times.
7: once downloaded use Winrar or winzip to extract the file to your root directory.
8: Charge your phone fully overnight (IMPORTANT)
9: connect data cable and backup (this rom update will wipe your device clean)
10: remove device from active sync and set as guest when reconnected.
11: Double click the file you have extracted and follow the Italian instructions (dont worry this will give an english menu once loaded)
12: avanti means next and all the blurb is highlighting some important stuff to do before proceeding (translate at bablefish if you want)
13: the device will restart and go to a grey screen with a percentage bar.
14 BE VERY VERY PAITENT it is imperitive that you do not interupt this process in anyway! it will stop in places especially at %96 but leav it to run.
(I WOULD ALSO RECOMEND STOPING ALL UN-NESSARSAY PROGRAMS IN THE TASK BAR BY RIGHT CLICKING AND EXIT)
Once complete you will have a clean install with all word apps without the o2 junk AND you want get that stupid "the phone is not ready. wait 15 seconds and try again"
This is only a know fix for me on a o2 XDA Mini s version G4 Locked please do not attempt this unless you are completely confident and that you are in the same situation

Yes there are ways to make backups of your roms but not sure how realiable they are no experience.

I have one 9100 G4 with this problem (phone can't register network) "the phone is not ready. wait 15 seconds and try again" and I flash with some custom firmwares but phone can't register sim network. Phone all the time newer ask for net sim lock code and work like unlocked phone. When I flash with this Love flash, phone for first time ask for sim net lock code I unlock with Lokiwiz03 and phone work normaly with full network

Ok i get 15 messages a day at least asking how to do the install, so here is the instructions and all the files that you will need for upgrading using farias rom on a g4 device
it contains the instructions, links to t-mobiles original roms, cab files for shell tool , shelltool, farias nbf file, the extended rom and the 2.611 radio rom.
Read the instructions and follow them
Please use your providers original rom to flash to first and only use this on G4 devices i included the two most common links.
I am not responsible if u screw your device i only made this available to stop all the i am frozen at the rainbow screen i ran the faria exe and screwed my device, etc this should provide a nice easy install

I have tried not miss any steps.
I have been flashing phones for years so am not a noobie.
I have flashed this phone quite a few times
Problem
I have a G4 ( unlocked via website)
I am stuck on bootloader when flashing this rom
I used WizardLove to get my phone back and then T-mobile US 2.26 to give me a clean system
I have changed the Radio to 2.19
I have rerun the unlocker in case I wasnt really unlocked
Is there any other suggestions to help me get past the loader?
Am at present using MB and am impressed but know that Faria always comes up with good stuff and want to do get this one my phone.

It worked great except now my keyboard on my XDA mini s shows the wrong symbols on the middle and bottom row for a UK layout. Does anyone know a fix for this?
I have seen some regedit fixs, but they dont work for me, every time i reset the phone it reverts the settings.

change the setting then wait 1 minute and hard power off the mda NOT a reset
with the button on the top as a reset clears changes a hard off will save settings

Thanks for the help, i managed to do the power down and it has retained the reg settings.
BUT, it still has not made the keyboard symbols work properly, they all seem to be one to the right or one to the left. Any ideas?
Am i doing the correct thing by adding the control panel settings as a dword in hex?

No Keyboard support for UK XDA's
WOW, ok so this is a big warning to all people with UK XDA Mini S's. You cannot get the keyboard to work properly with the faria rom!!
More people should be made awear of this.

Or you can try using the registry wizard under settings, system and enabling the keyboard in whatever format is needed there.
depends where the kbd layout is is your @ sign on the letter d?
and # on F?
or did you do an operator config? under accesories

I bought a G4 Cingular 8125 that was advertised as unlocked. I know its sim-unlocked at least because i'm using it w/ a t-mobile sim card.
Trying to figure out if it is CID-Unlocked. How do you do this? I've ran EnableRapi and Cert_SPCS, rebooting after each and then tried to use the shell tool to even just view the current ROM info... all it shows in Comments is "This is a custom rom". Have also tried to use Wizard Service Tool to view information about my Wizard but to no avial I can't seem to get that program to run.
Any suggestions? I'm lost right now because everything I try doens't seem to get me anywhere. Only thing I haven't tried is running the Rom Updater Utility with a new Rom, as that seems my only option left to see if its unlocked or not right?

Make sure ... Is it a G3 or a G4? Soft reset if you don't know for sure, and look for the 0001 on the end of the IPL./SPL version numbers.

G4 -- it's very unlikely to be CIDunlocked - you can only do it by paying imei-check for the software and unique key .. and it's unlikely the previous owner did that without telling you about it - it's a key selling point !! Yes I did read almost everything. I have a G4 My IPL/SPL is 2.25.0001 so yes its a G4...
I've read each item you posted about 3 times each. Even the bs responses to them I read not just the first page or so. I've also read the faria install tutorial and tried that. I've also done the shell tool tutorials and i'll explain the problem that arises.
Also EVERY time I follow the directions EXACTLY on shelltool nothing happens.

I put on Wizard Love and it does what I was trying to accomplish. Still would like to try out a WM6 Rom to see the differences but not the big of a deal to me anymore.
Also if you read my post... I bought my phone from craigslist... advertised as unlocked. Trust me when you meet a guy you can barely understand for a phone that costs $220 you don't wanna sit around in his car and idle chit chat. Specially in the area that we met. When I asked the guy if it was fully unlocked he said yes or it should be because I paid for it. Also my phone isn't branded with cingular 8125... not sure if it makes a difference but it is branded with HTC

It's a G4 - so it's unlikely to be CID unlocked whatever the vendor told you. Proceed as though it is CID locked.

It's from the nk.nbf rom file you put into the same dir as shelltool. If its there, you'll get the info, if it isn't - you didn't read the instructions properly ...

I had the fast flash problem too. Turned out to be a corrupt ROM file. Get one of the ROMs from the list that's regularly posted around the forum. Alternatively I used the one from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297762 this thread. Don't forget to use the password when you unpack it !!
I'm afraid that's the best I can do as far as help is concerned .. good luck .. it worked for me
hey i have a cingular 8125 g4 i sim unlocked it i also did the hard spl on it. i'm under t-mobile there any way i can change the boot up screen to tmobile and have t-zone on my phone because i got a mms and i can't download it still under cingular info.
Use the search option!
Type on the Search forum option for a cab for it... if not... download the TrukQteka app it allows you to unhide the extended ROM ( its just afolder where the Tmobile has the T-zone app. just copy it to your device out from the Extended ROM and run it....
Changing the Wallpaper is something that nobody assumes the risk on G4 devices...Cause its completely proved that in G3 wizard works like a charm but in G4 is not tested yet... if you wanna take the risk... do it and let us know how it works... but you need to be adviced that flashing the first and second boot screens is higly risk.... it can become a bricked device
Click at my HTC Skydrive Signature and download the file named 3splash screens.zip ... Unzip it READ CAREFULLY about the size for the pictures and the isntruction on creating them and ejoy... hopefully you wish... butr men.... i never do it... unless you were a RICH men not porr like me to buy a new one.
Aye, thats right Que, I have tried to do my bootscreens on my G4 aswell, and it sadly simply does not work. It corrupts the boot order for Windows, and you have to re-flash your ROM.

I got a used Softbank X01HT, and seller said it was unlocked, but when i put in my sim i can do things for about 30 seconds, and then there comes a U-SIM screen and it asks me to enter something, i guess ( It's in japanese ).
How can i get this to go away? Is it even unlocked?

When i make call to phone i does to through and people can all even though U-SIM screen is there, and when people call, it is possible to go to the menues and such.. But when they hang up it goes back to U-SIM screen.

this is SIM unlocked phone (radio version 1.16.00), but your Windows Mobile ROM is the original SoftBank Japanese version that enforces USIM message...
You can flash to some other Windows Mobile ROM, but make sure you check Hard-SPL thread first (sticky in Hermes upgrading etc)

easiest way is to use SoftBank SIM for flashing everything, that way you avoid USIM message...
if you dont have SoftBank SIM available, search for welcome.exe on this forum.
SoftBank put a software SimLock in the ROM which can be removed with welcome.exe from imei-check unlocker. (http://www.imei-check.co.uk/m3100unlock.php) Start it up with you phone connected to USB and ActiveSync enabled... After the program asks for some password file, just close it! (close dos prompt window)
About Japanese IME (kanji & kanna input), i prefer flashing some newer English WM6 ROM + installing separate Japanese IME from cab. Old SoftBank's ROM is very slow and limited...
Super CID is just there if you flash HardSPL....

I found out that the USIM screen goes away if you just press on the signal bar and say that you don't want to receive signal.. den i can ue it.. And then i could do the Hard-SPL which i did with no problem. thank you!

Once you flash HardSPL; when you want to flash only Windows Mobile ROM only you dont have to worry about bricking (destroying) your phone. Only flashing different radio could be dangerous.
For the version, you have to find out yourself, there are so many... Check Hermes Mobile 6 threads, there are even some special Japanese cooked ROMs if i remember correctly. Also check user signatures for what versions are different people using...

that link you provided is Schap's WM6 Pro 4.31 ROM... It is one of the most stable out in the wild, and it comes without radio, so flashing that one should be safe.

And i have installed the Japanese fonts and Input thing!
It works. but after install i can not sign onto MSN Live Messenger. Is there anyway to fix this problem?Maybe i should change something in Regedit?? Or should i uninstall the fonts again? :/
