bluetake bt450rx - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Accessories

http://www.bluetake.com/products/BT450Rx.htm
Has anyone use this headset with the 8525?
Let me know about sound quality, range, function? I found some info for it on the Wizard forum...but i want to know how good it is with a more to date phone like the 8525. The profile is very small...about the size of a US quarter.

Yeah, I'm actually wondering about that one too.

Bluetake BT450rx
I am using this one with my HTC Hermes.
Works fine with some background noise thought.
George

I use the BT420Rx
http://www.bluetake.com/products/BT420Rx.htm, for the last 6 months without any major problems.
I use it both on my Hermes and my Laptop (Dell Inspiron E1505).
I don't use the handsfree option with the my Hermes just the A2DP.

I finally got the headphone in. I am very impress. It is light weight. It only works with WMP...controlling the pause, ff, play, etc...But sound wise it works with all players. I also have TCPMP and the stereo sound does come thru but no remote control function.
Stereo go to mute when the phone come in...and resume play when you end the call. Distance is about 30ft...not very far. Sound is good. I have the 8525 with all the hack software installed..so the quality is very good. It is better than some of the Jabra i had before.

What hack software did you use to get it to work?

I use the HtweakC2.0 and the Sleuth A2DP fix

Bluetooth Stereo Headset

Hi,
I am looking for a bluetooth stereo headset. Where can i find one
which is good sound output , reliable and long batt life. I want to be able
to listen to mp3's and calls thru my XDAIIs.
Any ideas?
http://www.blueant.com.au/
Wow, a bit pricey. Do you have 1st hand experience with this device? The reason that I am asking is that tha xda II / III's have traditionally had bad bluetooth reception. Before I dish out 300 bucks I would want to make sure that it did not suffer from the same bluetooth static that the headsets are having with the xda's.

I tried many bluetooth stereo headset, and wasted hell of money on trying many of them, considering the bad bluetooth reception of the PDA2K, the best bluetooth stereo headseat works with it is motorola HS820 it works well within the range of 1 to 1.5 meters from the PDA2K.
"6 talking hours - 100 hours stand by".
I'm still waiting for the up-grade which was promissed to be developed to improve the performance of PDA2K's bluetooth reception.

Don't worry, I talked with the live chat on iMates site and they asured me that the bluetooth issue would be resoved soon.
Now that was 6 months ago and 2 ROM updates, I am still holding my breath....
The Motorola HS820 isn't a STEREO bluetooth headset, but I agree that it's one of the better regular bluetooth headsets for the phone. I also bought the Motorola HS850, which is the update to the 820. The bluetooth performance was definitely better than the 820's performance but I ended up giving it back anyway because the volume is too low for me.

don't buy this product. http://www.blueant.com.au/. I called up the guy to enquiry this product. AT first, they did not include HP IPAQ 6365 in the list of compatibility. After I talked to him, they claimed it was working properly but they did not money into their mouth so the next day, they included as part of the list of compatibilty.
second, the guy also told me that it did not include a dongle which can support A2P2 therefore it will not work for HP IPAQ 6365 as it did not have A2P2 software hence it will not answer phone call and listen to MPEQ music in stereo manner.

The Motorola HS820's volume is not low for me, but I do receive some complains "sometimes" from the other parties saying that my voice is low and they ask me to raise my voice, but some other times it works fine.
Hold on....
Are you guys talking about headset or handsfree?
So far I understand hs-850 is a handsfree bluetooth (not a headset bluetooth).
Correct me if I am wrong.

They waiting for me at home, (I'm currently in the US) so I will let you know next week.
Well I'm listening to The Killers over HQ A2DP stereo
I had to use the BT hack stack here to get it working.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=15671&highlight=stereo+headset
I have paired the handsfree profile as well. The problem is however the handsfree is not working very. Also the pause and stop buttons don't work with WMP10.
Will post updates if I get any other stuff working.
I just got the Zonet ZUB8100 from Newegg -- only $120 after rebate (which ended yesterday). Works very well as stereo headpnones with my SX66, not so well as a voice headset. You can connect the BA to it in both A2DP and handsfree profiles simultaneously, so it should be possible to answer the phone while listening to music. No caller ID, AFAICT -- well for $120 you can't expect perfection
There's no mic boom, so the mic is in the left earpiece, a bit too far from your mouth. That in combination with the standard headset issues with the BA results in quite a bit of static and the person on the other end barely able to hear you.
Well guys, I dont recommend the Sonorix or infact any BT Stereo headset unless you like pain.
They are a peice of crap.. wasted $150 dollars Sad
Sound is muddy and they not very comfortable. (Granted I'm used to my Sennheiser HD500's). Not to mention it takes ages of fiddling to get A2DP working and then it doesnt work well.
I think Bluetooth is a waste of time. When Bluetooth2 comes out and is properly supported i might give it a second chance.
In the meantime I'm going to use these instead:
http://www.seidio.com/index_products_pda2k_headset.htm
I bought the Motorola HT 820. Works pretty good for answering phone and stereo music on sx66 after some bluetooth updating and adding profile. Not too comfy but tolerable for $89--took a couple of weeks to arrive.
Haven't used them for prolonged periods but they work for a couple of hours at a time.

Which Bluetooth Stereo Headset are you using?

Hi all:
--
I was wondering which BT Stereo Headset [not headphones meaning I can make calls etc] you guys are using with your HTC Wizard or any A2DP device for that matter.
--
My criteria:
1) can be used well with my dopod 838
2) fits well [this is subjective]
3) doesn't move around when I turn my head
4) good battery performance
5) price is not much of an issue
--
I am looking at the following Headsets:
1) Motorola HT820
2) iPhono PLUS BT420Rx
3) iPhono mini BT450Rx
4) iTech S35
5) iTech R35
--
I put the iTech's at 4 and 5 because even if they are BT headsets they still have wires danggling about in other words they are psuedo-wireless .
--
So what are your thoughts about these headsets? Any other headsets I should be looking at? Personal experiences, Links to reviews and/or online shops are welcome. Thanks in advance
a teeny little bump, as i'm looking for one now. (lost the original wired headset)
still no replies... anyway just went around a famous mall here in manila and they don't have any stereo bt headsets! damn!

Was in a mall last night and was told by an okley sunglasses salesperson that they will have a sunglasses/stereo BT headset for music phones soon. Be about $225us I was also told if and when they do come out.

probably a variant of the RAZR wire also from Moto/Oakley [which was an MP3 + shades solution] the problem is I have glasses [thick ones at that... I dunno if the ones you are talking about will have prescription lenses

guy s quick quesiton, .....do other version have the ad2 profile, ...infortunelty i dont think my 8125 has that....at least without using a dongle the size of my phone. Any firmware enhancements to get that profile ????lol
I installed the latest rom (2.8?) and it should have that a2dp in it.
I should be receiving my iphones today so i will let you know if it works.
so the 8125 is compatable with the ad2 profile def let me knw that would be great damn these devices are great
Finally! just received the i-phono 450rx
It works! And might I say, quite beautifully too.
Very decent sound quality (playing music now) I'm test-wearing it now and it's still pretty comfortable after 2 hours use.
There is a very slight hiss, only audible when no sound is playing.
The phone-headset function is not fantastic but people can understand me and i understand them. So what more do i want?
Bought it for playing music anyway.
I'm not really sure what a 8125 is, but if it's a "HTC wizard-device" it should work with the latest rom.
edit:
I just saw this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=42569
its about a2dp and your 8125, you might get it to work without a rom ugrade
thanks man
How will I know when the A2DP update is availailable other than this site? Where are the updates usually found? I really am anxiously awaiting being able to purchase a good set of bt headphones for my 8125.

Finally got my own stereo bt headsets. Got myself an iTech Blueband [it looks the same as the Sonorix and ANYCOM headsets] it works with the Qtek Test ROM although sometimes the music cuts in and out. Also it is not as comfortable [for my ears atleast]
Alternately I use a bluespoon ax2, and a jabra bt250v. love them both.

I have the 450rx and according to the manual there is no way to actually initiate the voice dialing from the headset itself. I havent got the manual with me atm but from memory it said something like: For voice dialing, you must initiate the voice dial function from the handset and then you can talk into the microphone to tell the phone / pda who to call etc.
So, technically it is sort of possible, but i would prefer not to have to press the voice dial button on the K-JAM as it sort of defeats the purpose of using the voice dial function. Even though i have only just got the 450rx (and can't use it as i-mate still hasn't released A2DP) i am already on the lookout for a stereo headset that has PROPER voice dial.
Cheers,
Chris

Official HTC bluetooth stereo headphones?!

Hey people anyone had a look at a set of these for thier Hermes?? (look at bottom of the page)
I was walking through town today using the standard wired headphones and found it a bit of a hassle with the wire in ma pocket cluttering up space. On expansys they say soon to be released anyone been thinking of buying a set??
Alternate BT 2.0 A2DP Plantronics Pulsar 260 cans
These are also interesting dangly headphones:
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=139855 @ £47
The Pulsar 260 is a "pod" that connects to your musicphone over Bluetooth A2DP to provide stereo audio. A set of wired earbuds, with an inline mic, connect to the Pulsar 260 itself, where you'll find controls for track skipping and volume (which operate on the Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).
When a call comes in, the music stream is put on pause automatically - the user can take the call by pressing the button on the mic.
This control unit sporting Bluetooth 2.0 is for more discerning users with MP3-playing phones demanding high quality stereo earbuds and remote facilities for volume control and track selection.

@mrvanx: That headset looks just like the Itech S35 Clip available now in the UK I believe. Interestingly, the Itech is one of two stereo headsets known to work well with the TyTN.
That would be great, people wouldn't need a headphone Mini USB Adapter, althogh i know bluetooth stereo would be draining your battery more than usual, you can use this device and even use your own headphones (it looks like you can plug in any headphones), so if you have a dedicated pair of Shure e3c...... awesome.
Consider the R35, also from i-tech. Adds control buttons (although pause/play) don't seem to work with tytn - forward, backwards, and volume up and down do though).
I *really* like it.

i have Jabra 620s (Bluetooth, stereo), working good on 1.34 Rom.
I am about to take delivery of a pair of Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970 Bluetooth 2.0 stereo headphones with multipoint that should allow me to switch easily from Media Player to the phone, and hopefully also from my PC (eg Skype) to my Hermes. Question: I have been reading your posts on A2DP hacks, etc., with interest, but I was wondering if the latest HTC ROM had solved most of the problems or whether I still needed to do some tweaks to get good stereo performance.
performance is good (not great) you will still get a one second skip every 30-40 seconds.

Has anybody tried both SE and Nokia A2DP headphones? How would you compare the?

Nokia HS-12W or SE HBH-DS970 Bluetooth Headset?

Hi,
Has anybody tried using the Nokia HS-12W headset with their TyTN?
I'm trying to decide between the Nokia HS-12W and the Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970.
Can you scroll through your contacts and make a call without actually touching the TyTN i.e. just using the headset? I think this is possible with the DS970 but I don't know if this feature is supported by the HS-12W...
I'll mainly be using it as a headset rather than listening to MP3's so I'm more interested in that aspect.
All comments welcomed
Thanks,
Mark
just nudging this, as I would be interested, I understand that the Sony will pair with 2 devices at the same time, and the Nokia won't...
Which has the best headphones ?
thanks, Will
I have the Nokia headset and it's awsome. My only complaint is A2DP range which is limited to about 3 meters. Headset functions work just fine and there's full handoff support from A2DP and vice versa.
Contact scrolling isn't supported to my knowledge with this headset however.
I've just got the HBH-DS970 today and the sound quality is ok, although there does seem to be a drop out of noise every 15-20secs with my T Mobile TyTn which I got early Oct 06 so am just checking for registry tweaks of BT upgrades.
One point to make about the HTC Tytn it doesnt fully support BT 2.0, becuase it doesnt handle the EDR the Enhanced Data Rate which is the ability to transfer data faster although I've yet to find out if it will affect the other protocols in BT2.
I'm used to the Sennheiser CX 300 (basically they are same type of in ear canal headphones) becuase these are great for the gym as they dont absorb sweat, the in ear canal is also the cheapest form of noise cancelling headphones becuase its like sticking your fingers in your ears so it blocks out a fair amount of sound like crappy gym music or a fair amount of noise when on long haul so you dont have to look silly with ear plugs on the plane when sleeping!
In all I would say the ds970 is a little bass heavy which would suit most people because headphones dont have lots of bass normally, but actual quality is ok ie its not as good at the CX 300 which some Musicians use as monitor headphones.
BTW a good test is to turn the sound up, good amps dont emit a hissing sound when playing nothing, same goes for devices like this.
tricky911t, are the song titles shown in the headset display when used with the TyTN?
Just bought the HBH-DS970 BT and it is not quite soo good as I expected. There is background noice with voice and it sound like I'am in a can. Also when lissening to mp3 (A2DP) the sound is 85% good and some hack in the music every ca 30 sec.
EDIT: Works fine now thanks to fit4cat Hermes Tweaker v1.1a also read thread UTILITY: fit4cat Hermes Tweaker for HTC Hermes , Hermes_Registry Thanks BongoUser
I've tried BT with PC (A2DP) mp3 and that sounds great no problem at all. Tried also with old SE T630 phone without any problem only voice.
I found this
HBH-DS970 and Dell PDA (Axim X50v with WM5 and Widcomm drivers)
Next on the list is my PDA, a Dell Axim X50v upgraded with Windows Mobile 5.0. I had already downloaded and installed an upgraded Widcomm Bluetooth stack (1.7.1 build 3400) to replace the crappy Microsoft one. With this stack, the A2DP and Headset profiles worked fine! I was able to use the headset to make calls with Skype, and to listen to music with TCPMP. The remote control buttons on the headset didn't work (next/previous track), but this wasn't very surprising.

When reciving a call the TYTN does NOT ring only in BT earplug. Only with earplugs from BT in ear, I will be able to take incomming calls because of no sound.
EDIT: Solved, think it was Hermes Tweaker that fixed this.
When BT is connected with SE T630 phone the display on BT shows both number and name (swithing between) for incomming call. On TYTN only number is displayed.

No with and without the JET Extensions add on which incidentally only supports the Widcom BT so no good for Hermes as its a MS BT stack.
I've spent all day playing around with the various reg settings, and mp3 players and this is what I have found so far.
The DS 970 headphones emit a very high pitched whistle which you can notice most if you have the phone volume on low say 1st or 2nd notch, the volume on your audio player of choice on low and headphones on max., so logical thing to do is have the audio player on loud (but not so the music distorts) and the phone volume on loud with the headphones adjusted to suit although in periods of silence you can still hear the high pitched noise (could this a MS BT Stack problem?)
The Reg Settings, basically you can put any reg settings you like in your WM5 phone becuase like windows normally, if its not recognised windows will just ignore it, so I have been playing around with the various settings but in all instances I still get the odd drop out of noise.
Adjusting the BitPool to 80 gave me almost constant drop outs/stutters (however you want to describe them), I found 58 to be best quality which backs up what I read elsewhere, and obviously knocking the value down to 20 or 30 gave me crappy sound quality. To see the changes you only need to disable the BT in the comms manager you dont need to go through a soft reset.
I've tried the Min/MaxBitPool and Min/MaxSupportedBitPool (havent established which is the correct registry entry but have kept them both at the same value) and found Min for 14 and Max for 80 gave me same quality as the BitPool at 58. I suspect the Max figure of 80 is wishful thinking.
Didnt notice any difference with the SampleRate reg entry but changing UseJointStereo from 1 (default) to 0 did give me proper stereo at least it sounded better.
I even installed the Widcom BT (0.50) stack from the Axim site but couldnt get that to work as kept getting insufficient memory for driver or something like that.
Long and the short, I think if we have Widcomm BT on the Hermes we wouldnt have half the problems we are experiencing now like stutters/drop outs et al. Whether MS will address this problem in an update I dont know.
I'm gonna live with this for now becuase I dont like the ear bud headphones like those on Nokia or the HTC wired versions and I want something for the gym and I could get it to do voice tag dialling by pressing the mike but for my car I'm waiting for the MK6000 which should be out later this month provided I can get TT6 audio over a my car stereo when its playing a CD not a one or the other situ.
The best freebie Audio player I found so far was a freebie version of TCPMP (now CorePlayer) but I preferred the Pocket Player on a free 30day trial becuase I liked the UI better than the TCPMP even though it had slightly more features. At the end of the day most people are gonna want an equalizer and a good UI which Media Player doesnt give us.
Incidently even though the Pocket Player is supposed to support the AVRP stuff, becuase of the MS BT stack you wont get track names et al on to the 970 headphone display but as mentioned above thats all becuase of the MS implementation. MS are well known for implementing their stds even if established stds already exist.
I will wait to see what the HTC S100 is like when its released http://www.expansys.com/htc/p_htc_item.aspx?i=140285
I suspect HTC and MS will be working together to resolve the shortcomings of their stack namely the stutter or drop outs but if you look at the picture we can see straight away we wont be getting any message display from the device so perhaps MS wont be providing this facility any time in the near future.
If this is the case then our only options will be to get a Widcomm BT stack for the Hermes to give us proper AD2P but as the Hermes doesnt provide EDR on BT2 is this becuase of a hardware restriction or software restriction, if the latter could this be another MS BT restriction?
BTW if you live in the UK and bought your headphones or whatever over the phone or online you can use the Distance selling act to get a refund if the product doesnt meet your expectation amonst other things. This means in theory the supplier should not only refund you for the cost of the product, but also your shipping costs (both ways) and not charge any restocking fee.
So you dont have to be left out of pocket if the product hasnt lived up to expectation.
_If_ I get time over Xmas I might have a chance to look at whats involved in providing a Widcomm BT stack for the Hermes, but I have a whole heap of apps to knock out at the moment so it might be wishful thinking. Food for thought.
Edit:
I've been out this morning walking into town and gave it a field test!!! Well this beast should be tied down, becuase if you so much as walk fast, jog or run then you will have it flying around in next to no time if its loose outside of your clothing. When walking it was flying around bouncing off each of my shoulders and when I ran a little it cam close to having my eyes out a couple of times not to mention hitting me on the face. I have adjusted the length of the cord so that it should fly around less but it didnt help too much. If you were to put it inside a t shirt for example when running then your sweat will get into the device most likely through the power socket at the back of it.
So all in all.... I'm gonna send it back becuase its not functional for me. At least HTC S100 comes with a clip to attach it to some item of clothing and the nokia well I cant comment but if its not got a clip of some sort to attach it to clothing with then I can see that suffering from the same problem as the DS970.
I can see myself going for the HTC wired headset where its modded by cutting off the ear buds and putting in a 3.5m socket for the headphones and make do with a std BT headset until the carkit I'm after is out.

Same happens with my Nokia HS 12w... Bitpool was set to 48, but I'm not sure how the different volume levels (headphones/mediaplayer) were set. I wonder if the bitrate of the file has anything to do with it... (mine was encoded with Lame, with variable bitrate between 192 and 320 kbps).
I'll try the players mentioned here also, as Mediaplayer is hardly ideal.
I'd also like titles to show up on the display, but perhaps this will come in future versions (any thoughts?).

Using a stereo bluetooth headset (w/questions)

So my headphone jack on my wizard is busted, and I really need to listen to some tunes, and I don't have a warranty, and do not want to take it to a repair.
So my last option is stereo bluetooth
-I have read on many websites that you can't use a stereo bluetooth headset on your T-mobile MDA which I have. Is this true? I have the latest ROM from them (I'm too chicken to switch around my ROMS). If I won't be able to currently, how can I?
-Does using bluetooth a lot cut down your battery? If so, by how much?
-What is the best stereo blue tooth headset to use?

I have been using my bluetooth stereo head set from logitech for a while,
It just worked great good sound quality.
Recently I upgraded from WM5 to WM6 and it works with the new OS as well sounds even better.

u can use stereo bluetooth w/o flashing a new ROM
idk what that link will do for you, this prog is the easiest way to get stereo bluetooth
@ryske..You can use Jabra bt620s or plantronics 590a for ur needs...I personally use 590a...
shantzg001 .. great thanks for the info. I will research all three once i get this damned thing. Also dont forget to search fatwallet and antirebate for these things!!
if u have tmobile you can use their update and be able to use bluetooth stereo but if other i would flash with a new rom or even with the tmobile one but it will come with tmobile branding.
