It should work. Only language is english, but has all the locales that the QTEK ROM has.

Can someone who has flashed this ROM go to "Settings > About" on their phone and post the "Build" number that you see there? This is supposed to indicate which Windows Mobile 5 AKU was used in this ROM. For example, my 3125 (which I believe has the latest Cingular shipped ROM) shows "Build 14955.2.3.0", which I am told indicates it is running AKU 2.3 (kinda old - the newest AKU is 3.5). Anyway, just curious...
I've never been entirely happy with the call quality on my 3125, so I'm looking forward to finding a new ROM with some radio improvements. So, I would be interested to hear if anyone experiences any improved call quality with this ROM versus your previous ROM (especially if your previous ROM was the current Cingular ROM)...

krweatherl - Can you go into any detail on this ROM version. You stated that this is a 'Test' ROM. Is there a final release coming or is this version it? Is there an associated 'What's New' document? Any documentation would be great.
Just curious. I didn't want to flash to this ROM when a final version would come out a day later?

Build 15362.3.4.2 indicates Windows Mobile 5 AKU 3.4 - giddyup!!! Very recent, must flash this ROM soon...
As to call quality - since I got my 3125 I have had a number of people say my calls don't sound as clear. Funny, I can usually hear them fine. Not saying I am surprised - I saw this comment in some reviews I read prior to buying this phone, but I decided to buy it anyway. But no regrets - other than the fact that some people have trouble hearing me (that's their problem!), I truly LURVE this phone... ;-)

Those were some interesting links. A few things we could/should see in this ROM as a result of AKU 3.x that caught my eye: stereo bluetooth improvements, an EQ in Windows Media Player, Internet Sharing instead of Wireless Modem, AJAX for IE, and performance improvements for IE (I wrote "could/should" since, as we all sadly know, carriers like Cingular have the ability to disable, cripple or otherwise hose up just about anything before the ROM goes out, and they seem to take advantage of that capability regularly)...
Looks like the .Net CF2 you are interested in may or may not be in the ROM, depending on what Cingular decided to do with it, since the second article sez it is a carrier OEM:

Hello! Does anyone face with such problem - cold reset after every power off/on ?? I find this bug on my phone with Cigular latest test ROM and roll back to Qtek ROM, everything fine after that.

We do it as good as we can, but you will find bugs. Report them and we will try to fix them in the next ROM or provide help. But we cannot take any responsibilities for it. If you damage your Charmer, do not be angry - you made something bad. We will never release anything that may damage the machine, we will never release something that is not working. It's just your fault - and it was your choice to try it.

HISTORY and FUTURE
We were not the first who released WM6 ROM for Charmer. chinese xBeta was the first. We are sorry that we cannot provide full credits of chinese stuff, but we do not understand even a word on their pages But our WWE rom was built primary on the chinese one. Vlodeck had enough patience that he started to translate CHS rom to WWE using Altavista Babelfish. We have discovered soon that it wasn't the right way.
Now, the ROM is working. Based partialy from Wizard, partialy on Prophet WM6 WWE roms, mixed up with chinese xBeta parts - it works. We have changed the main source ROM completely few times - that's why there are also major differences between versions. Different sources are bringing different problems. But we are strictly focused on performance and stability - on fast and stable ROM, you can easily build your own custom ROMs, filled with junk as you wish.
That's also reply for questions "will your rom include...blah blah" - no, it will never include any 3rd party product. We are not able to control every dll of sources, but we will try to keep this ROM maximaly clean and fast. Performance tweaks will be included, but only tweaks that may not harm any part of system. We will make everything possible to allow all 3rd party products work without restrictions - so no hardcore system tweaks.

To upgrade rom just extract rar and run RUU. It would be nice if you had your charmer cid-unlocked but I think it will work on locked devices as well. This method does not work on Vista. If you have it, proceed with ANOTHER FLASH METHOD.

If you have the chinese WM6 rom, downgrade to some WM5 with official RUU, then:
download this:

Once you unpack it, please put the nk.nbf (charmer wm6) into the Shelltool folder. Open shelltool.exe. Click Get Rom info, then click Extract OS. Wait until its finished and you'll receive a file called 8004000-OS.nb (save it for later).
Download the xbeta Chinese WM6 rom : http://rapidshare.com/files/27671349/2007-03-26_Charmer_WM6_CHS_OS_msyh__plus_consam_xBeta.exe.html
Extract it and put that 8004000.OS you saved before in the XBETA directory. In the itsutils folder of xbeta rom you will find enablerapi.cab and cert_spcs.cab. Copy them to your device, install them on Device Memory, then soft reset.
run xbeta.cmd and choose the 8004000OS.nb file to flash (you should be connected with AS and have your radio module turned off).
When the screen goes green and the flashing is finished make a HARD RESET!. Press Camera and Voice Dail buttons (hold them). Put and hold the stylus in reset button for 2 seconds. Release it. Wait until you see some white fonts on black screen. Then release those 2 buttons. Push the green dial button.

nice work. tho a few things ive noticed, the buttons control panel contains settings to map 6 buttons (5 plus 1 to hold) when it should only contain 5 (4 plus 1 to hold) and the actual buttons on the phone, contacts and calender are set to start and ok, also are unmappable using the cpl. also youve left in the wireless lan cpl, when the charmer doesnt have wifi!
I know I have, what's the point in deleting wifi icons? More work and how is it supposed to make the rom better?

you have to extract the nb file from the nbf and use for example awizard to flash the rom.

Although, the T-mobile customisations that I used to get on hard resetting the previous ROM, they still start, and the keyboard still looks yukky, no colours, just plain white with black text, will try to change with the keyboard enhancement provided in the first thread.

OEM taken from official ROM 2.09.605.8 (vzw).
Drivers are from officlal ROM 2.17.651.0 (sprint). BT drivers are from Sprint Vogue.
The bluetooth sound, alarm, and keyboard issues that may be present in the stock vzw rom should be resolved.

probably that the xip/kernel (CE OS 5.2.1933) is not matched to the appropriate SYS files (Build 18533.0.7.0)

no problem. you just have to search alot this is a rom made specifically for your verizon XV6800 device. any titan rom should work, but this is verizon's ROM, with its OS version upgraded. you should be able to install radio 1.40.00 as well.

I DCD. May be i've not done enought research before asking but is this kind of ''Upgraded'' Rom is avalable for P4000. I did'nt flash for a custom yet waiting for an official kitchen, 'cause this Rom work very fine altough for B-T freezing issue. It's the only reason why i had to soft reset in 6 month never crash for memorie over-use. So If an easy way to fix (change) the blue-tooth driver in the stock ROM, already existe. It's a good way to wait for an official kitchen....

you could build a bt-fixed telus rom with my kitchen... but if i get time, ill do the same i did here for you guys on telus.
Is it not different signals for my carrier with radio driver? Have Verizon improve their radio driver compared to the sprint mogul anyway? I'm so confused...
What are the benefits of dropping my VZW radio for this 1.40.00 radio driver? Is it really safe to use on a VZW phone?

radio 1.40 is safe to use. its just newer. i believe we first saw it with the 2.14 ROM. verizons XV6800 came with 2.09. its up to you whether you want to flash the radio. all htc titan devices are cdma and use the same cdma radio, 1.40.00 is a software version for the radio.

Transcriber is device-specific and so I could include the original aku0.2.3 files, but I just left it out, as I cant bring over the 0.7 version. (I think)

Oh I see, that's a pity. I wonder, there is no way to get this Transcriber out of my own device for to have hadwriting recognition? That would be ideal, I think. If not, that is good too. Well, thanks for the explaination... No want any but transcriber haha

This is the first time I've used any custom ROMs, so please forgive the ignorance. I unlocked my xv6800 and flashed with Radio 1.40, and everything worked great. Now, however, when I try to make a phone call, I get a verizon msg saying that they cannot authenticate my phone. My SPL is still unlocked--is that the problem? I reprogrammed the phone, and it notices that the SPL is unlocked. If that is indeed my problem, how do I lock it again?
Call verizon and tell them u hard reset and now your device cannot authenticate.
Well, it took 3 levels of customer support at Verizon before I got to the one who could help, but they fixed the problem. Now, Radio 1.40 is on and working. Thanks!!!!

I present to you the Shadowline Series. The roms I make are made to be cutting edge, using the latest in Windows Mobile and HTC with a mix of my own taste in graphics, tweaks, and fixes.
Because the purpose of this rom is to be cutting edge, not everything will always work as intended at all times, and that is where you come in at. I need all of you to test, and report back on what needs fixing, tweaking, or even suggestions for newer versions.
This rom, can not, and will never brick your device, unless you do not read the instructions or do something that you aren't supposed to do.
The latest HardSPL is always recommended as that is what the rom will always be based on.
If I do not implement a feature or a request, It is because it will not work, will break the intended design, or it will be worked in at a future time. But I do encourage feedback on everything as you are the ones using it, you should be the ones that have a say in it.

I just finished flashing mine. Everything seems to be running great so far.
@ redesignni, is it still doing it? if so reset, and if your old rom does not boot up, press "vol down + reset" to enter bootloader and then try flashing another rom again.

**Edit** Run HardSPL as Administrator and then run This as Administrator and it flashed... well 60% as writing this.

Just got my D2 last Thursday and have not installed any rom so far. Was using a Kaiser previously.
Downloading your rom now. I've been reading and it looks like I need to Hard-SPL first. After that, I'll need to run CustomRUU for Topaz.
Question, instead of running CustomRUU for Topaz, can I skip this and go for SD Card flashing instead?

THE WAY TO FLASH A ROM USING THE SC-CARD (also tnhx to jiwei1984):
1. Make sure you have HARDSPL installed (soon...).
2. Format the sd-card to FAT32 (if not already).
3. Copy the ROM (.nbh) to the root of the sd-card and rename it to topaimg.nbh.
4. Bring the device into bootloader: press and hold Volume-down button and then Power button.
5. Confirm the question to upgrade.
6. Wait for upgrade to finish and enjoy...
@zard, yes SD flashing should work, but I have not tested it (worked great on my Kaiser!)

First install USPL by following the instructions in this post.
Then extract one of the zip files below and run ROMUpdateUtility.
When first installed, the language will be set to Chinese. To change to English, move to the settings icon (cog) and press the right soft-button. Then press 0, then 2, then right to select 'US English' and finally the left soft-button to save. You'll need to restart the phone to apply the setting.
The clean version does not include the DAB radio software whereas the integrated version has it in Chinese. To get the radio app I copied the 'TTP' folder within 'Program Files' on my wm5 lobster over to wm6.5 and it runs fine. See below for download.
I have only tried the 'Clean' version of the rom.

Issues so far:
Settings icon on home screen has some Chinese text
Activsync fails to synchronise contacts
Calender display shows months text incorrectly
awesome i hope this works better than the last one i was forced to go back to wm5
(note to self.. back up numbers this time.. back up numbers)
I should point out that the 'incorrect calendar display' issue was merely my incompetence - by default it displays Lunar months, but this can easily be switched off.
I still haven't managed to get activesync to synchronise contacts but pim backup worked well enough.
The time taken to start windows is a little annoying, there seem to be 3 or 4 different splash screens now.
just wondering, where is the T9 settings? and if there isnt any T9.. why?
How did you revert to the original wm5?
That's the only thing stopping me from flashing that 6.5
when i got the 6.1 rom i got the wm5 rom with it, flashed it the same way as i did wm6.1 and wm6.5
i still miss the T9 tho

Many thanks spasmj, I also updated to the clean version and it gives my Lobster a whole new lease of life.
I was hoping to get a newer version of TomTom on it was well - but I gave up and went back to V5.2 (newer versions seem to want a have touch/stylus driven initially - but followed some advise about a particular V7 that is supposed to support keypad - but it wouldn't install).
Also a good tip to get rid of the Chinese on the front screen on Settings is to move to another home screen (I went to Sliding Panel Full).
Also anyone know who to get rid of the Chinese Mail account, I have added my Gmail but can't delete the Chinese one - minor annoyance.

I'm not sure how you'd do that. I don't know how the tv button works in the original wm5 rom. Does anyone know?
I imagine writing a small program to run in the background and wait for that button press wouldn't be too hard.

But ques for spasmj - (after updating to 6.5 rom - cheers) I copied the TTP folder to program files on the lobster but when launching the app (DABplayer or DABlauncher) I get nothing - I click to do a scan and nothing on the DAB radio - not even a failure to scan - it just sits there. It does create the TV and Radio folder. Do you have to have your original Virgin sim in? I have unlocked mine so now on o2. My original sim I got with the lobster was never used so I presume it was disabled as it doesn't work - but tried another Virgin PAYG sim and nothing on DAB radio.
After quitting I also seem to have a TV & Radio.Ink shortcut in the recent programs that fails?

This is by far the fastest of the ROMs published to date. No bugs yet either, very impressive - give it a try!

No you don't have to.....ones HSPL you have "opened up" the phone.....

why isn't there fuss about this ROM?
I tried this ROM today. It is fantastic! It's much speedier than the stock one, it brings 6.5.3 which we've all been waiting for and it has only minor bugs. I found some of them to be: 1.quickgps is missing(this is important for us who use the incorporated gps). Could you add that please?
2.Could you make the default htc volume bar available when we press the side volume keys? Instead of that now an ancient volume slider appears when the volume keys are pressed. Although, I noticed that the htc one is available when you press the windows flag from the dropdown menu in the top. Weird, because all that's missing is the connection between that and the hardware keys.
3.Some weird chinese input modes are available in the keyboard menu(I think that's where the ROM originated), but it would be nice if they weren't present in the WWE version of the ROM.
If these would be sorted out this ROM would be PERFECT! Because believe me, everything else is just how it's supposed to. This is much better than chris's 6.5.5. That one is still full of bugs. So thank you for making this available and if you could please solve these(minor) bugs I would be so grateful and I think I'm not the only one.
P.S. I would also like the default theme available
Not to be naggy or anything but I forgot in the previous post. Kinetic scrolling is missing. But I don't think that it can be as easily fixed...

QuickGPS atatched, although I always forud SeasGee to be better when I used to have an Artemis (search fo Seasgee for discussions), so if you're going to install or cook one of them...

Sure it will. I just tried this one today : "Windows Mobile 6.5.5 Operator Replacement Rom (Build 23541)"
My phone model is back to T3333 again. The issue with this rom was that I think it was ported from a Touch2 Special Edition (T3320) from China or something.I also like the fact that Manilla is basically the same with this newer rom. Almost no bugs in it, it even has quickgps. I'm sticking with it for now.

Your ROM is really great. But I have run into a problem... don't know if it is related to your ROM or related to HTC .
As you can find from my siggy, I own a T3320 and not a T3333. The ROM works perfectly OK but the moment I install HTC Hotfix for Owner Info, the Home screen is Gone. I mean if you press the home button - nothing happens. The impression (or image) of the Start menu or whatever you were last stays there. But this is just an image, as the icons on the image do not work. Pretty weird I know - I am also confused. But if from Settings, I remove All today items and then press the home button, I can go back to the Desktop or Home whatever you want to say. I hope I was able to clear my issue . Any suggestions ?
BTW this has happened with both of your ROMs - this one as well as the BT ROM.
On a different note, what kitchen (if any) are you using? OSkitchen is not able to cook the ROM for me, it fails at the last stage, saying there is no config setting for this device.
