I wonder if this company exists in a real world, or if they think their customers are all fools.
Leaf Wireless has released the latest AKU 3.3.1 version here in South Africa on Monday.
Dopod(HTC) had already released this ROM earlier but obviously the Chinese version.
This is the reply I received from HTC Europe on 21 March 2007 to a query.
"Thank you for contacting HTC Europe.
The official HTC TyTN ROM update has not been released yet, so I am unsure as to the exact legitimacy of the current one you are using."
I am using the official one released by Leaf last Monday. They received this update from HTC Taiwan.
With this kind of treatment of their customers they can only hold themselves responsible for the growth of XDA-Developers.
Long live XDA
HTC should re-evaluate its customer support as well as its employees in Europe when you buy a high end device like this you expect support during the lifecycle of the product not lack of it even after the releases of many other products.
(back in september) When i rang HTC (UK) to enquire about the screen alignment problem being fixed under warranty I spoke in depth with the guy about the ROM i had on it (which was an early iMate ROM. He basically said that EVERYBODY he knows (in and out of his employment) messes about with the ROMs on thier devices. He said it wasnt very clear about whne a rom upgrade was going to be released but it was the decision of the guys over in HK not them. I loaded an early HTC rom back on and sent it back. It came back within 5 working days and was fixed un der warranty.
Numerous emails since (not from the same guy) have basically fobbod me off saying a rom release Q1 this year, the end of which is closing in fast :s
As you can tell it took me little under a month to start changing ROMs and i havent looked back since! dont hold your breath expecting an official HTC release for europe. Just read all the info etc...(wiki) and use a different rom, such as the newly released AKU3.3 south africa rom??

Any word or rumor on a T-Mobile Upgrade?
They were the first to come out with an upgrade during the last severla weeks of manufacturers coming out with various upgrades, so I would think that they are do. Especially since their latest upgrade 1.60.36 is not very stable. In fact the previous release was much better.
I would like to see at least a 1.66 come out of T-Mobile.

Hi,
Anyone got one yet in The Netherlands? Here it´s been delayed and delayed and delayed... Finally yesterday was supposed to be available. I've seen they have stock at pdashop.nl but calling to belcompany (they have a better offer) yesterday they said it will take them one more week! Any lucky person in the Netherlands got one?
In case so, I would like to know what languages does it come with by default? I've seen a video on pocketinfo.nl and they show italian, spanish, and dutch. Can anybody confirm?
Thanks!
Stil
First off, no I don't have one. Still waiting for it (hi.nl).
I also expected more to come this week with the articles on Tweakers.net and the official tweets from 'HTC_NL' saying it is now available in The Netherlands... but still nothing.
In the comments from the Tweakers.net article there were quite some people reporting that they received their Hero, so there are a couple out there. Don't forget, HTC said it is now available, and preorders (and price winners) should expect them this week. Then it's only normal that the phones arrive at the retailers _this week_, which means we will get it next week (hopefully).
About the language: I've seen multiple UK review sites that had a Hero in the Dutch language . So yes I'm pretty sure the interface and sms-texting can be set to Dutch. I hope there is just one version of the device and you can set the language in the settings. I hate dutch on my phones / computers.
Just got a call from belcompany informing me that they have it in the shop waiting for me to pick it up. This evening I will (hopefully) have it and tomorrow let you know more about the dutch version.
drat, Hi... hurry up. Me wants it
I bought a Hero yesterday at pdashop.nl. When I bought it in the shop, they had 30 or so in storage (white & brown) . (came in Tuesday afternoon). So...anyone who pre-ordered it will get one soon, I guess...
hi.nl pushed their date back _AGAIN_ with one day.
Expected delivery is now 31st
I have one.
Languages i can select are:
English (Dutch)
English (Lux)
Dutch (dutch)
Dutch (lux)
French (dutch)
French (lux)
German (dutch)
German (lux)
I also have got one,
Last tuesday to be exactly,
It's a brilliant phone lots of apps quite a good sound
the battery life is about a day and a half
greetz
And another happy [NL]Hero user
The only problem with this phone is probably the FUP of my data plan... (Vodafone internet Blox)
I live in the uk and am eagerly anticipating the release of the motorola Atrix. However, I don't really want to wait ages for an orange release and would prefer an unlocked phone anyway (no contracts and the like). What should I do? I know there's expansys etc. but I am concerned about a warranty. Should I be? I am really just looking for some helpful advice.
i heard you can send it to any motorola services centre for the warranty no?

Doesn't mater where you buy it from, you will have a warranty with the manufacturer. I have had to send stuff back to Expansys before and had no problems
Thanks! i was just a bit worried i would lose out on something. now all i have to do is wait for an unlocked version to be released, or even announced :/
Any news on UK release dates yet?
It's slated for a Q2 release in the UK (Most likely to be around mid May), I'll try find the source I got it from.
This is unconfirmed though.
Any ideas on what the price might be for it? BTW this is for the regular Atrix and not the 4G
I'm from Israel and we use 3G bands similar to Europe, the Artix 4G supports HSDPA at the 2100 MHZ band and so do some European carriers (including mine). Does that mean I can just order the U.S version and it will work ok? if so, no need to wait for UK dates or any other European release

It seems you'd better ask a friend of yours in US to bring it over. That's what I'm going to do. USD399 is way better than GBP399 (surely it's going to be more than that).
Atrix 4g and atrix is the same phone. In america they have verizon lte 4g so t-mobile and att started calling their hsdpa+ 4g which is nonsense. You'd need to check the bands to ensure it works. Should be ok as im sure moto support most. You'll need to wait for an unlock in anycase as only on at&t i think if coming from america. I would buy from expansys although they can be expensive. If you import you need to add the vat which you'll get billed for 2 weeks after purchase by the courier.
I can't wait to get mine!
Btw. I bought a droid pro from usa and it worked fine.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
According to this it will be released in May 2011 in the UK, and exclusive to Orange.
The difference between atrix 4g and atrix for europe could be regarding frequencies: 4g shold be 3g on frequencies 850/1900/2100 while european version 850/900/1900/2100. This should be not a problem because almost in all europe 3g works on 2100 Mhz frequency. What do you think about it?
I'm a UK user too.
I'm torn between this and the Samsung Galaxy S II.
I hear the Atrix is gonna be Orange exclusive which is crappy.
No news on the sammy yet though... :S
Mid July according Expansys
BUt Expansys have changed there site to show a price of £474.99 SIM free, which seems very reasonable, really. But no release date, now
I'm sure my old Touch Pro 2 was around the £600 mark when it first came out
Another pending UK user here too..
Lurking here in the meantime.
I've seen July mentioned by Expansys. Have also signed up for notifications from Play.com on their product placeholder page.
Galaxy S II looks like an early March release according to various gadget sites.

I quote you, it's a good price 475£ seeing that expansys usually is very expensive, and 475£ become for me using my valid italian vat number 395£ (460 euros about) which is a great price. I don't think release date to uk is july, july would be too late. At this point I will buy it from USA the same day it will be available sim free ( I think mid or late march).
Hi, I'm far more interested in the variant for the Japanese market than the American one, mainly because of storage expandability and water proof ability. However, has the J Butterfly been officially launched in Japan yet? If so, are there any legit online legible stores where I can get one?

I too am interested in this. I would much rather have a microSD slot than wireless charging. And that red device is über attractive. I've been doing some research and it appears that this device should be carrier unlocked like the DNA is http://www.phonearena.com/news/HTC-Droid-DNA-comes-unlocked-for-use-with-any-SIM-card_id36652 However au KDDI's LTE bands are at 800MHz not Verizon's 700Mhz http://www.japanmobiletech.com/2012/09/more-details-on-kddi-4g-lte-iphone-5.html?m=1
HTC J Butterfly pamflet!
http://htcsoku.info/au-deluxe_j-pamphlet/
it has been released already here in Japan since last December 9.
And I'm loving it!... :good:
It was released in Kanto areas of Japan on Dec. 9th.
Other areas of Japan are the 14th, and 21st.
However I was told by a girl in the AU shop here in Osaka that the J Butterfly would be available the 12th. So I'm heading down today to take a look.
HTC Buttefly not in preorder for EU from Expansys
After a short period when HTC Butterfly was on preorder at Expansys, yesterday i receive an e-mail from Expansys:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for your recent interest and preorder of the HTC Butterfly.
Unfortunately, we have now been informed by HTC that this device will
not be available in European markets, and as such we have had to
remove it from our website and cancel your preorder.
We are sorry for any disappointment that this may cause.
An alternative model to the Butterfly that may be of interest is the
HTC One SV which will be available in early January and is available
to preorder now: http://www.expansys.com/htc-one-sv-blue-240562/

Hi All,
I am hoping someone knows the answer to this. I am in Australia and still waiting on the Note 2 4.4 F/W release whilst most other counties got it months ago.
Does anyone know are Samsung firmwares for different countries all developed from the same place with the same dev team etc or is each region responsible for pushing out the firmwares for the devices in their region with their own dev teams etc?
I ask because my carrier has been advising since July it was coming since August and since then each month they post a new update saying sorry delayed again new ETA..
The thing is, this behavior is not limited to Kit Kat, this device only nor is it only limited to carrier branded firmwares too...
As an example the same thing happened with 4.3 was released elsewhere and months later we got with the initial released scheduled for early December with it being delayed and finally dropping in February. Furthermore other Galaxy flagship models suffer the same fate with the Aussie F/W always being delayed. And now let me mention the fact that my friend has a Galaxy Note 10.1 tab N8010 which is wifi only and unbranded so is only dependent on Samsung making the F/W available directly and it is still waiting for 4.4
I wanted to state that because Samsung are trying to pull the wool over my eyes with their replies to email questioning the delays in Aus telling me it's the carriers fault for the delay and that in fact the carriers have the F/W already and just don't want to release it. I know that is BS because the Australian unbranded non carrier reliant 4.4 has not already been released yet and before Samsung can give the carrier their firmware thy have to develop the unbranded version first and then make a version based off this with the carrier bloatware etc..
Anyway I am curious to know where these F/W are developed because if Australia has to hire their own dev teams and push out the F/W releases for Aus devices then it makes sense why we are so delayed clearly the Aus dev team is crap! But if all the F/W worldwide are developed from the same place then I don't know why AUS F/W are so delayed.
For the record I am already on the Nordic 4.4 months ago because of this constant issue but that's beside the point I would much prefer to have my own carrier version loaded up with the carrier modems etc esp since I want to sell it soon so I want to sell it loaded with the correct stock F/W
Thanks!
