Sorry to dissapoint you, no Windows 2005 (Windows Mobile5.50) for XDA IIi (till now)
Damn!
Stick a ? on the end of that title, I almost wet myself thinking Buzz had made an Alpine ROM then
I am still waiting in hope someone will release it, then I can sell my Himalaya.
yesterday i just installed win2005 into my xda2, it works. But still find some minor glitches, eg. camera and record button doesn't works. no auto-configuration with mobile operator services. And haven't been able to connect to GPRS & MMS yet.
You need to set-up GPRS yourself, and there is no MMS on it yet.
There are many threads about Wm2005 on the XDA2 you can read.

The Atom does not have in-built GPS ... it requires a B/Tooth GPS receiver (you can buy a sirf III unit... for about $50 - $100+). As far as software - used destinator 6 & tom tom 6 (find Tom Tom better) but both work fine on my Atom. a windscreen holder is a good investment (about $25) - do a search and read reviews that way you should find a combination to suit your needs.

that there is an easy way pls ?
and also how pls !
thank you
and sorry for my bad english: D
Can't be done.... NO receiver for GPS signal.
You can buy a bluetooth receiver however and use a standalone GPS app. I use Tomtom with a 54 channel receiver I bought off ebay a while back. Works fantastically.
Cheers...
thx for answer
can you show me pls where can I find this bluetooth receiver ! a site web !!

But I have to say that I cant make many thinks ( depends of course on Win7) that it was possible with my HD2, or TouchPro and TouchPro2 before. Thats why I dont read a lot in the Forum anymore. I hope that will change very Soon

[Question] Which custom ROM has best GPS experience

Hello dear TG01 fellows,
I want first to thank all ROM moders for great contributions!
I would like to ask you:
Which ROM is in your experience most stable and best for using navigation? I have tried several but (in iGo for example) when it looses signal, it's now reconnecting and working....
Thank you for your oppinion!
Kind regards,
W.

Firstly, it's in wrong section. Should be in TG01 General, hopefully mods will redirect this thread or move it soon.
Secondly, have you looked at Pere's survey? It had few criterias for roms and may be one of those might help you.

Good question, i will probably be scolded for saying this, but i think stock, bog standard orange rom has best gps experience.
I have always had problems with gps on the TG01, no matter what rom, but we are not alone, HD2 users have similar problems
I'd say mirom 1 rel5 is pretty good and now in testing this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=997315 which seems to be as good as miro's. I always had problems with other ones but recently i made a long trip with miro's rom and everything was fine. with original tg01 rom i all the time was experiencing losing reception when using igo8 and it was coming back after a while. the other roms always managed to crash the satnav's.

IMO feropont's ROMs are the best for GPS, never had problems...
Thank you for replies. I will test reccomended roms and post feedbacks!
Mods, if thread should be in different section, i kindly ask you to move it (and sorry).

Hi
I made 1000 km in 3 days from 21-24 this month with Neo_Dark3_ROM_TG01_21916_WWE ROM.
No signal loss no problem at all Highly Recomended.
