My green notification LED will not stop flashing. I have no messages or events etc. I don't want to soft reset to stop it.
I'm sure I read about this bug previously but I had never experienced it until now. I cannot now find where I read about it.
I'm sure there is a cab fix somewhere.
I'm running Energy.Leo.23569.Sense2.5.Cookie.Jul.08 but think I have read about this occuring on other ROMs hence posting here.
Anyone know how to sort this?
Cheers all.

Do you have Facebook, Twitter, moTweets, Stocks or anything else running? They will all provide led flashing notifications *randomly*. Also, you can turn off LED features in BsB Tweaks (Start>Tools>BsB Tweaks).
Hello,
I've heard you can install NoLed or Notifications Pro so you can get notifications while the screen is off, but, which one of them works for the facebook chat app and whatsapp?
Thank you!
If you rooted your phone you can use the leds of the touch buttons for notifications.. look for BLN on google play. It works fine for whatsapp and i believe also for fb chat.. It will also save you a lot of battery!
Sorry for my lack of knowledge, but what does it mean ' to root ' the smartphone? And why should I do it?
No offence but, if you don't know what rooting is, what are you doing on XDA?
Give it a quick search and you'll find everything you need to know.
After reading some stuff about rooting, I've decided to do it as you said.
But now I've found a new problem. I've installed noLED, but now I keep losing connection to the network (3g and calls go down).
Is this known to happen? I couldn't find much about this online.
OK, i'm in a good mood today so I'll make you this newbie guide:
first of all: rooting has no effect whatsoever on signal loss, so this must be caused by something else
2nd: uninstall noLed. It will always keep your screen on and keep your phone out of deep sleep which means: battery life sucks big time
3rd: download and install CWM Recovery, look here
4: reboot in cwm recovery and make a full system backup just in case!
5: I'm assuming you are on a stock ROM, so you need to flash a kernel with BLN (backlight notification) support. Google it, it will make your phone better/smoother and don't worry you won't lose any data or apps. You can flash any kernel you want, but may i suggest this one
6: now you can install BLN control from google play
7: have fun with your notifications and press thanks if I helped
Hi guys.
Relatively new to the S3, but I have done a little bit of playing around with Android devices before.
I spent yesterday researching the forums, then manged to root and install Clockworkmod Recovery, and have since flashed the latest nightly of Cyanongenmod 10.
Love it so far, the only problem I've come across is that when I receive an SMS the phones backlight does not come on, which is a bit annoying because I often have it on silent and that's how I see I have a message.
Anyone know if this is just a setting I've missed, a bad flash, or just not supported? I've had a good look around the settings etc and can't seen to see an option anywhere.
Also, I read about the 'phone goggles' mode in cyanogenmod 10, but can't see that in settings either. Am I missing something?
Thanks.
Anyone?
I've found a setting within the messaging app which performs a 'wake and unlock' function if you enable quick reply. It's still not ideal though. Any help would be VERY much appreciated

Not possible on the stock messaging app. Get an app like gosms from the market, It has the option.
What do you mean by phone goggles?
Ahh that's a shame, I really liked the stock messaging app. Nevermind though, thanks for the help.
I saw Phone Goggles in the demo vid for Cyanogen, it was used for filtering communications at certain times, they said it was aka 'drunk mode' haha.

You mean quite hours? Settings->sounds->quiet hours.
or profiles?
settings->profiles?
From what I understood, it was a feature to say, stop me sending a message between certain times to certain numbers etc, I assume that's where the 'Drunk Mode' comes from ha.
Not something I think I'd use, just quite a cool feature I fancied having a play around with, maybe I misread though.
If you mean the LED, there should be LED options within the CM settings
I always added it manually for SMS, whatsapp, facebook etc and it worked fine.
I just can't remember on the top of my head right now.
Out of general curiosity, do you not prefer having the notification led light up rather than the screen turning on constantly. That's what I hate most about the stock messaging app on touchwiz roms, the backlight turning on after every message.

I meant the whole screen, but the LED notifications will do the job. Thanks

Personally I quite liked having the screen light up, maybe it's just because I'm used to it after using an iPhone for a few years.
Thanks though guys, good and fast answers like always
hello... with every roms, even modded, sometimes the notifications of whatsapp don't arrive... i found them on desktop but led doesn't work and sond didn't arrive. i don't think this is a my only problem because i read many posts in other website because without solution... can anyone tell me how can i solve this problem, with any app or other way? thanks
Hi All
First of all, i´ve searched about this issue but i didn´t find anything. English is not my first language, so maybe i didn´t search with the appropriated keywords too. Sorry if there is information about this already.
My issue is that after installing one app in my device, the screen flipped horizontally, all the screen! status bar, home button, etc...
I don´t know if installing the app is the cause or just a coincidence.
My device is a car radio, rk3188, and the app i installed is from play store is torque. I can´t indicate the link due to forum limitations, i´m new user.
Not only the rom is flipped, also the recovery menu appears wrong, the initial screen, the booting logo, everything!
Is there any option to fix it? how can be possible to flip the recovery too??
I switched it on previously and for a few minutes all went right, left at left and right at right, but after these minutes it happened again.
As a possible cause of this could be that a rear camera can be attached to this device and there is an option to mirror rear view. I´m afraid something could be wrong with this feature and x-mirroring is always activated, could it be possible?
I´d like to know the cause, but as a work around it would be useful some application that flip screen horizontally to counter this issue. Do you know any app? i´ve searched in google play without success.
Thanks in advance. I´ve read a lot in XDA but this is the first time i need to write requesting help...
