Hy guys,
I have a post Dec.2 x01HT and have the following problem. I have bought the imei-check unlocker when it came out and used it. Originally it worked, I tried it with a DOCOMO SIM and everything was nice, but when I tried a GSM SIM it still said simlock....
I e-mailed imei-check and they said I have to do the unlock during a hard reset before the softbank settings screen and that is what I did. After that my device worked with a GSM Sim, but I had a ton of problems: the windows hangs every few hours and I have to reset the set, also I cannot get the hold-down vibrate function of the radio button to work, the reaction time of the touch screen is very slow etc.
I also noticed that if I hard-reset without using the imei-check unlocker after the settings procedures there is an auto customization procedure that runs and customizes the phone to the softbank settings and looks, but if I do the hard reset and unlock with imei-chek this procedure doesn't run and I suspect that is part of the reasons for all the problems.
I was wondering if anyone has experienced similar problem and can help me solve this problem?
I was also wondering if I run the free unlocker on my device will it work better?
P.S. I am using the original Softbank ROM with the English MUI by Asukal.

You can still do the customization manually. There is only one file that you aren't supposed to run. Just unlock your EXT-ROM and install the cabs one by one. Pof has a Softbank extended rom with the bad file removed around here somewhere. In any case the "fix" cabs are all over the place and you probably don't even need to run the softbank stuff if you don't want to.
Thanks,
I am not too much into these things. Originally all I wanted was to SIM unlock my set, but I will try to find how to do all the things you said...to unlock the EXt-ROM and install the cabs myself.
Can anyone tell which cab exactly I should NOT install?
I have downloaded the Softbank Extended ROM from here, but it seems to have even more cabs than in my original ExtRom on the device. I would appreciate a list of which cabs to install or not to install.
Thank You all
So how does this IMEI unlock could work?

Japanese ROM from DoCoMo hTc Z has been uploaded to XDA-Developers FTP and added to the Hermes wiki, you can find it under the Available Original Shipped ROM Versions.
Notes on this ROM:
ROM Version: 1.23.731.2 06/24/06
Radio Version: 1.06.00.10
Bootloader: 1.04
Language: JPN (Japanese)
CID: DOCOM801
As you can see this is nothing new, but I guess it will be useful for people with this CID to be able to downgrade to bootloader 1.04.
Enjoy
Hi pof,
Thanks for that. I tried this to flash my X01HT after unlocking it with imei-check but with no luck. RUU went successufully till the last screen and I hit the upgrade but it returned an error saying something like this RUU cannot be used for the device. Bootloader is now 1.04 and the device should be SuperCID with imei-check. The only thing I can think of is that I upgraded the radio to your 1.2. Would that screw SuperCID? I appreciate your advice in advance.
Thanks,
harryk
harryk1372: If you are in 1.04 bootloader just run the upgrade utility again without disconnecting the device or start the upgrade in bootloader mode to bypass CID checking.
If it is really SuperCID then you shouldn't have seen this error.
Hi pof,
Thanks very much for getting back to me so quickly.
I ran the upgrade in the bootloader mode. I thought that I don't have to run it twice if the device is already at the SuperCID state and didn't run the update twice. I'll try it again when the device is fully charged as the battery is now down to like 30%.
I'll post the result again when I am done. Thanks again for your prompt advice. You're the man and I really appreciate your efforts taking us thus far in cracking Hermes.
Regards,
harryk
Hi pof,
The device looks like it was not in the SuperCID state and RUU went fine with the second run with no error. However, the upgrade failed when it hit exactly 47% no matter how many times I tried it. Lucky that I did not brick my device but of course it seemed to lack some of the components and it did not even have the Connections setting to set up the Internet access. Also, AutoRun and cabs in the ExtRom didn't take any effect either although the cab files were there.
I decided to flash the TyTN ROM instead and that was successful. That is fine as I only use Japanese occasionally and I didn't really want the Japanese MUI so I will keep it as is. Perhaps I will tweak it a little to be able to use Japanese with loading the Chinese nls, Japanese font, Japanese IME and so forth just like I did with my Universal.
Thanks again.

Does anyone succeed in flushing Docomo ROM to X01HT?
After unlocking my X01HT,
the annoying message http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=282073&p=1048193
appears again and again, even if I use SB_USIM.
Especially when I write SMS message, it will disturb me over and over.
I try to flush the Docomo ROM to my X01HT and hope to receive your help.

X01HT Unlocking Problem
I've got this X01HT a few days ago from S/B shop but when I tried unlocking it the result was no good using my cable. I read from other site that X01HT released from December 2006 cannot be unlocked. Please give me some clarifications on this and also, is FLASHING on lower rom version even in english version can resolve the problem...? Your response will so much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
At the moment it's not possible to unlock X01HT devices wich where bought after 12/1/2006 and have bootloader version 1.09 and RadioROM version 1.14.0.10! Please be patient.
To the experts, I need some advice. I intend to get a X01HT, already unlocked and flashed with the dopod 838 pro firmware. However, I intend to flash back the Japanese shipped rom :
RUU_HER_DoCoMo_1.23.731.2_1.06.00.10_JPN_SHIP.zip
What are the requirements esp where :
Bootloader (SPL)
Latest Radio Bootloader (HTC_BOOT)
Or since its unlocked, do I just go to the bootloader mode and flash direct? Any side effects if I do so, since its changing from an english rom of another clone (Dopod 838 pro, WM6)?
I am not even sure if the RUU_HER_DoCoMo_1.23.731.2_1.06.00.10_JPN_SHIP.zip rom is WM5/6. Please advice, thanks..
Hi
I was given an Orange SPV M600 running WM5.0 I foolishly thought I would be able to unlock it to work with my T-Mobile sim (the only network I can get coverage at home) I ran an unlock tool from en.pdamobiz.com
http://files.pdamobiz.com/c/PDAMobiz.com_ProphetAKU2_unlockCID.rar
I managed to get to through to the completion of the Downgrade.bat process. I was then asked to sofdt boot the M600 but it now cannot be found by Activesync. I was unable to successfully run Unlockcid.bat and now it just boots to either the 'Orange' screen (displaying IPL 2.10.0001, SPL 2.10.0001, GSM 02.07.20 & OS 1.0.13.21 - the new OS I believe) or the 3 colour screen (displaying IPL 2.10.0001, SPL 2.10.0001) if I hold down the camera button.
Windows 5.0 has gone or is unreachable but I am assuming it can't be completely dead as I get a noise when connecting/disconnecting the USB lead....
Is this false hope? Have i killed it after 2 days of ownership??? Should I have attempted this process with very little tech knowledge - me thinks YES!
I would be eternally greatful to anyone who can help me out of this black hole..... I just need pointing in the direection of what stage the M600 is at and how to get it running on my T-Mobile sim.....
Thanks in advance
hi there, try going into the bootloader screen, when you connect the usb cable it should show on the bottom off your screen. then try uploading the orange rom you can find on the wiki page. if this works then try using the loki unlocker which you should also be able to find on the wiki page. i used the loki tool and it unlocked first time. hope this helps. let me know how you go.
The GOOD news is No you haven't killed it. It seems you have wiped the operating system from it. I would sugest searching for RUU-Prophet-G4-AKU2.2-2.20-2.47.21-Jester-r1.exe down load it and then get your phone to the multi colour screen before running the download. This should then update your phone
when I tried to unlock my phone, I couldn't get it to unloack at all till I put a orange pay as you go sim in the phone and registered the sim with orange then it unlocked first time.

Spot on. Thanks so much for the advice. Fingers666 & jazpa !! I'm back on track. M6000 is now communicating again. WM5 is resident. Just need to unlock the sim and I'm away. [email protected] tried loki 3.0 amd 3.0a with both Activesync 4.2 and 4.5 respectively without any luck so I've just spent £5 a http://www.unlocking.org.uk/ as they say they can unlock a G4 ver. We shall see!! Great help though and THANKS again to both of you
Please Help Meee!!
Hello i was wondering if anybody could help me.
I want to unlock my orange SPV M600 for free.
If there are any safe and free websites that anybody knows of could u please tell me.
Thank Youu!!
James Thomas
Download Lokiwz, it is quite easy to locate. Inside the folder you will find 1 or 2 cab files, copy these to your storage card and run them on your M600. Now run Lokiwiz from your PC, after around 12 minutes, it will display your sim unlock code. Switch off your M600 and insert the sim you want to use, at the prompt, enter your code lokiwiz generated. For around 2 minutes the phone will seem to have no signal, then it will connect.
Worked first time for me, my M600 was locked to Orange, now it works great with O2.
wonderful works great with G4
thanks

ok does anyone know if the imei-check.co.uk does that do a cid unlock also?
I followed the instructions and installed the new rom from faria's 4 step installer.
My questions are everything seem to go ok however i am getting a
sddaemon cannot be opened. either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's components cannot be found. if the problem persists, try reinstalling or restorin this file.
What does this program do? how to fix this?
Also when i was doing the flashing there was small icons above the "calendar" "contacts" that are not there anymore. like a blue tooth icon small green circle icon that allows you to restart wizard, small lock so you can lock the screen and buttons.. any idea why these don't show now? i get the little battery and mda that switches the screen layout but not the other ones.
Yes, imei-check does CID unlock.
However it is not required to CID unlock if you use ShellTool and you have a OEM ROM on hand for restoring.
Using aWizard or ShellTool may require you to hard reset for 2 to 3 times for the OS to function without any problem. If you tried to hard reset and the problem persists, flash with the same ROM again.
Thank you Starkwong. I did do the imei-check.co.uk even though i already had sim unlocked my phone with lokiwiz.
i will try hard reseting it a few times to see what happens.
i did find that the sddaemon is for the voice dialer which i just deleted since i don't use voice dial.
i thank you again for replying.
Hi, Im new to this stuff so please forgive me if Ive made a stupid mistake. I just flashed my T-Mobile Vario 2 with Binky11s WM6 ROM. I thought this would enable me to use my orange SIM in it but it didnt, so I used the unlocker posted on here which appeared to work fine (it ran OK and said it had removed the SIM lock). Now it seems to still be locked. Its just giving me the simlock screen and saying I need to put in a code and I have 6 tried left. Anyone know whats causing this or how to enable my Orange SIM to work please?
Before you start flashing ROM's to the phone I would suggest you read as much as the Hermes WIKI as time allows as it my save you a lot of time and expense later on.
For unlocking I would run POF's unlocker again and see if you get the same problem. I have ran it more than 20 times and never had this issue.
Hi.
I tried to find this on the forum and wiki, but i couldn't, so i want to ask.
I got a used Softbank X01HT, and seller said it was unlocked, but when i put in my sim i can do things for about 30 seconds, and then there comes a U-SIM screen and it asks me to enter something, i guess ( It's in japanese ).
How can i get this to go away? Is it even unlocked?
ROM: 1.33.761.4
Radio: 1.16.00.00
When i make call to phone i does to through and people can all even though U-SIM screen is there, and when people call, it is possible to go to the menues and such.. But when they hang up it goes back to U-SIM screen.
Please help
I have already read the Post april X01HT thread, though it is not relevant in this case because this is model from 2006.
Thank you
this is SIM unlocked phone (radio version 1.16.00), but your Windows Mobile ROM is the original SoftBank Japanese version that enforces USIM message...
You can flash to some other Windows Mobile ROM, but make sure you check Hard-SPL thread first (sticky in Hermes upgrading etc)
Hi thank you again!
I read something like that in the SIM unlock thread.
So i just need to install Hard-SPL and then flash a ROM?
Do i also need to do CID unlock? (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293665)
I would like to be able to write japanese with the phone, so is that possible if i flash? I saw a thread about installing japanese input/output support, is that possible to install on every rom?
And can you reccomend a rom or post link to ROM you think i should install?
THANK YOU! can't wait to start using it.
Now i just tried the Hard-SPL thing. But i get Update error 260 saying my device is not connected. I have ActiveSync 4.5 open and i have synced..
so i don't know.
I don't know if it has anything to do with the USIM screen being on all the time?
I see Active sync closing down as soon as it starts updating.. but then it can't update, right?
easiest way is to use SoftBank SIM for flashing everything, that way you avoid USIM message...
if you dont have SoftBank SIM available, search for welcome.exe on this forum.
SoftBank put a software SimLock in the ROM which can be removed with welcome.exe from imei-check unlocker. (http://www.imei-check.co.uk/m3100unlock.php) Start it up with you phone connected to USB and ActiveSync enabled... After the program asks for some password file, just close it! (close dos prompt window)
About Japanese IME (kanji & kanna input), i prefer flashing some newer English WM6 ROM + installing separate Japanese IME from cab. Old SoftBank's ROM is very slow and limited...
Super CID is just there if you flash HardSPL....
HI, thank you!
I found out that the USIM screen goes away if you just press on the signal bar and say that you don't want to receive signal.. den i can ue it.. And then i could do the Hard-SPL which i did with no problem. thank you!
Ah so if i just download that program and close it down at that time the USIM screen with never come again?
Yea i want to flash it to newer. But i'm not sure which one because i've heard a lot of people broken their phone :/
could to give me a link to a few "good" English WM6 ones?, though i there is probablt many.
i will try out the imei-check thing now ^_^!
Once you flash HardSPL; when you want to flash only Windows Mobile ROM only you dont have to worry about bricking (destroying) your phone. Only flashing different radio could be dangerous.
For the version, you have to find out yourself, there are so many... Check Hermes Mobile 6 threads, there are even some special Japanese cooked ROMs if i remember correctly. Also check user signatures for what versions are different people using...
thanks so much! i managed to get the USIM screen gone with your help.
Ahh i see, but install new version wont it also change the radio? wasn't that dangerous?(sorry if i ask dumb question)
so if i chose this for example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=359458 i can still make it with Japanese IME?
i think i will try hehe!
that link you provided is Schap's WM6 Pro 4.31 ROM... It is one of the most stable out in the wild, and it comes without radio, so flashing that one should be safe.
Oh ok thank you! then i will try this.
Last question before i do anything
This that ROM it is still possible to do the Japanese IME thing?
I found this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298919
It explains something of getting japanese on phone, was this what you meant by japanese IME? or is there an other method, if yes, please telle me/ give link.
Now time to have your Hermes speak Japanese
Japanese fonts
Use the excellent work from Asukal, that you can find here:
http://www.asukal.jp/WM5/LetsJapanNo5.zip
I did have a problem with it: once I executed it, I could not sync with my Exchange server (Quite a pain for my push email account...)
Asukal found the solution: edit the registry, and change
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Mobem\CE-Star] "MyNLS" = "\windows\wince.nls"
Japanese input
Not using for myself, but these work perfectly (I tried):
http://www.asukal.jp/WM5/BagojsINPUT.zip
*** EDIT
If you prefer a Japanese input without the annoying "Floating bar", ie just the same input way as your original WM5 Softbank ROM, just downlaod and install the "MS IME31 J" link from Asukal's page:
http://hn801.hkes.com/Data/SIP/IME_31J_QVGA_F.zip
Click to collapse
THANK YOU!
That solution you mention should work fine, but newer solution is available. Check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=445550
Hi! THank you very much! i was finally able to flash the ROM!!
And i have installed the Japanese fonts and Input thing!
It works. but after install i can not sign onto MSN Live Messenger. Is there anyway to fix this problem?Maybe i should change something in Regedit?? Or should i uninstall the fonts again? :/
It gives me this message: There's a Connectivity problem. Make sure you're in an area with good reception and try again.
I have tried over and over and WIFI is up and working..
So any answer i would be so greatful and finally be able to use the phone like i dreamed of !
Thank you.
sorry, i dont use msn, i have no clue about it...
