tv700 battery only lasts 16 hours in standby??????????
Hi, I have 2 Lobster tv700's and when in standby they are lasting for 16 hours, 20 hours at a push. I have done the A2DP hack on both and have tomtom 5.2 running on both. I have checked I have no apps running in the background (made this mistake with tomtom and phone lasted a couple of hours). Surely this isn't standard fare for this phone? This has rendered the phones unusable really and are now sitting in a draw. Anyone any experience with this phone? I have the wireless headphone option turned off as well.

My battery life seems far too short. If I remove my phone from charge at 6am it's got very little life left by 10pm. 16 hours is pretty poor... No WiFi or BT, but I do have reasonably high usage of around 15-20% perhaps.
I did read something about Quick Calendar being a bit of a drain, but I really like this widget, so I don't really want to lose it.
I don't have all that many apps installed, maybe 10-15. How does this battery life compare to everyone elses? Is there anything I can do to extend it?
mine last about the same. I am using the internet alot & widgets like twitter & flickr as well as watching films/listening to music. To be honest I think that this battery is pretty good seeing as how much I use.
When I compare this to my Diamond which i was using a lil bit less by way of features I am truly impressed with the stamina they have given to the stock battery.
That being said if they ever release an extended battery I will be buying that in a heart beat
Generally I think it has decent battery life, but its changeable. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and the battery has drained overnight from nearly full to totally empty, but sometimes there is no indicated overnight drain based on the battery meter.
I think the battery meter is probably about as accurate as the one on my Diamond (ie not accurate at all)! I get the same battery life from my Hero if not more as I did on my Diamond with the extended battery which considering I do a lot more with my Hero is impressive.
I think the battery is pretty good considering all it's doing.
When I have it on, playing mp3s and HSDPA and wifi all day, I'm lucky to get 12 hours. I mean literally MP3s all day though, and since I'm at work having a usb cable into my laptop isn't a big problem, which removes the battery problem.
Today I've had limited internet use (mostly just 2g email polling, with about 30 minutes of whatever 3g exists in the bowels of wiltshire) and, as I've just noticed about 3 hours of GPS. It says it's used about a quarter of it's battery. Used as a simple phone, I'm sure it would last more than 3 days, but why bother?. As a pure email device, maybe just under 2, and as an always racing internet/music/gps beasty 1 day.
I'm happy with it.
Have you tried intstalling taskiller to get rid of those apps using power in the background?
My battery life is terrible. I fully charged my hero and unpluged it 8 hours ago. Since then i've made 10 minutes of calls, around 45 minutes of browsing (with 15 minutes using wifi), and 'played' about with it for around 30 minutes. My battery is down to 20%. I don't think this is good at all because i haven't used it that much.
edit: I also use taskiller to close apps after im finished with them.
Yeah, I use taskiller, nice app. I've also installed something called Power Manager v1.5.9 but I'm not really sure how it helps... if it does...
Woah I started doing a Battery Saving /Speed up Tips thread last night - Just posted it - Any good stuff post on there... Plus there might be stuff you've not done yet (Tho its pretty straightforward stuff that I reckon you'll have done already Ya never know tho)
Dayz xx
I found the first 3 charges only gave me a day (but this was when hammering the phone for the first few days), after the 4th charge and dropping to my normal useage i get 2 - 3 days, which is just better than my Tytn2.
I use my hero as my works phone and make about 40 minutes of phone calls on a 12 hour shift, it also picks up my emails and does about 30 minutes of browsing during that time, and by the time i get home it has about 30% of battery left which isn't too bad, and is much better than my diamond.
Things seem to be improving for me too now. Also, I took of Quick Calendar which people were suggesting was eating battery...
Ok, wanted to gage opinion on what you guys think my battery life is like?
I have recently upgraded to XXKG5 via ODIN - and so far not noticed much difference in battery life compared to before. I am not rooted.
At time of writing 16:45 my battery has 23% left and I took it off charge around 6.30 this morning and was using it from 7.30am. I played music for around 30 mins in morning and watched a video on tube on the way to work for approx 35 mins. At work I listened to music for maybe 90 mins and have been browsing the internet using phandroid app on and off all day.
Wifi is on, 3g is off, I have tasker switch off 3g when wifi connects. It has disconnected from wifi as Ive moved around a fair bit all day too.
Brightness is set to 25% and has been like that all day, except for 10 minutes when I was showing a colleague photos.
No phone calls.
Battery usage is Display - 39% Android os - 28% Cell Standby - 12% Maps - 7% Android System 3%
Update at 18:30 and battery has 4%. I was able to watch around 30 mins of video on the way home. But I would like to get more than 12 hours a day from it.
What do you think ? Is this decent? Should I be getting more? Can I get more?
There are hundred of battery related threads mate.
You don't have to post that much info, just check if you are getting around 5-5½ hours screen on time, if you are, you don't need to ask anything
Regards.
I'm not sure how I can tell from the graph.

So I have a Galaxy S III which I absolutely adore. Some time ago, though (2 weeks maybe?), one of its biggest cons - the battery life - disappeared. Earlier, I could be sure that the battery held around 3 days of my regular usage (some emails, games, web) being left with around 20%. Some time after the update to 4.1.1, the battery started to have good and bad days - sometimes it holds just as it used to, other time it's a half of it (15% after 1 day and 7 hours with no games and almost no web? Come on!). I thought it was because of Google Now so I disabled the geo-locating options but it's no better. When I go to the battery usage in the menu, it shows me that Android takes 38%, idleness 24%, the network 21% and system core 6%. The screen or Wi-Fi are just 5 and 2 per cent! What's wrong, then? What should I try to do to get back to normal with the battery?
Hello
I've bought a One X+ second hand and the guy that sold it to me said it was only 2 months old. I have reasons to believe he was telling lies.

I've only used the GPS for like 3-4 minutes (not using google maps) and Google Maps separately (no GPS) for 3-4 minutes total. I don't know why it shows a big % on battery usage from Maps. Also the battery history from Settings said that I had the GPS on all the time even thought it was turned off.
DS Battery Saver was also turned on (Gentle profile) so it would go to sleep when screen is off.
I generally can barely manage over 24 hours on a single charge (normal usage, 2 hours of on screen time).
When it's sleeping (all communications turned off) i'm usually losing 1% of battery every 45 minutes. Another thing: the last 15% of battery drains in 3-4 minutes when using the phone (browsing, etc).
Is my batery ok ? I think the device's older than 2 months when I bought it because my older Sensation XE could easily manage over 1d6h normal usage even after 1 year.

Your getting simlar battery performance to the rest of us.... My HOX+ needs charging atleast twice a day..

I am not really harmed with mine's battery life, ofcourse I would prefer having better battery. But overall I can survive 15 hours with 2 hours onscreen surfing the web /xda
And about 40 minutes hardcore gaming (fifa 14 and other games)
With about 30 minutes call time.
But keep in mind during screen off I have my connections off.
P.S if you can root, you should definetly use "Greenify". It's the perfect battery and usage saver.
My day as you see is short but during the night (around 8pm) when I sit on the phone for 6 hours of intensive gaming and surfing the web, I usually have to make 1 and a half charge

Hmm....well ok. Before buying the phone I read the battery test on gsmarena and was pretty much pleased with their results. But they tested it on android 4.1 whereas I have 4.2.2
Well if you really want to test battery and know if it's bad or not , charge till 100% then remove the plug and keep it sleeping till it runs out of battery. Or check on it after 3 days to see the percentage .
After doing so, surf the web browser till the battery runs out from 100%
Then charge again till 100% and do some hardcore gaming till it runs out.
The final test, charge till 100% then use the phone with your normal daily use.
If you do not like the battery performance you can switch phones.

Hello.I use this masterpiece about a year now with really heavy usage.I almost charge it every day,or about 5 times a week the less..In the first 10 months with KITKAT i had always about 10-11 SOT hours. After 10th month also with kitkat,SOT reduced to 9-10 hours. At this point i updated to lollipop cause a certain mod that wasnt supported from kitkat. The SOT about 1 month remained same as kitkat. And finally the last month i notice that SOT has reduced to 7-8 hours. Also to mention that after 8th month the battery has veeery sudden drop from 16 to 8%.It drains about 1%/minute!From 8% and bellow it drains much more smoothly compared to 16%—8%,but not as smooth as 100%—16%.Is there any way to calibrate battery or to find out if is battery issue?
Thanks for possible help.

For starters, if there was a 8 hour reduction in SOT in the course of a month, something must have happened. Either the way the device is being used, or the apps you are running. No two ways around it. Also, if it drops 1% every minute your battery has either become defect (dropped the device lately?) or again, something is draining it.
There are apps you can download to check what drains the battery and hog memory etc. Don't know their names, so Google it. Otherwise, I would do a back up and then do a factory wipe. Test the factory wipe for a day or two without restoring and check if the battery drain remains the same. If not, there is indeed something you are running that is causing it.
Lastly, our Li-Ion batteries lose their capacity over time. SOT will significantly reduce over 15 months or so, depending on usage maybe earlier. If I leave my screen off the entire day I lose around 15- 20%, if I use it I get maybe 4 to 5 hours playing games with my Bluetooth headset connected and WiFi/LTE. If I watch movies it's a bit less. Just how it is.
thanks dude.i loose 1% only between 16%-8% very weird..no i never dropped it and i notice that battery drops the same way either when is just formatted or not..if i leave it allday with screen off i loose just about 2%...
