I've done a search on this forum but haven't found this problem listed exactly.
All of the sudden, the icons in setting are gone! Mainly the same ones, backlight, power, HTC X-button, Device Info, etc etc. I have to soft reset to get the icons back but then after some time, they are gone again.
I am running BD3.5. Anyone have a clue why this is happening and how to fix it?
TIA
No one else has this problem?
Has happened to me before on certain ROMs I've run in the past. Appears to be a memory management issue. Always happened after a few days use and a soft reset always solved it. So far, I haven't seen it on vp3G's version of the last LVSW ROM.
Try uninstalling the HTC X button and then power off and on, then soft reset, might cure it.

Sometimes my touchscreen will be terrible, their will be no response at all.. and it will grab, but it will be in the wrong places, ive only found this problem whenever i rooted and reflashed with das bamf so far, and it blows because its literally the only problem i have now after being so happy with this root/rom deal so far.. i never flashed a kernal, so would that have something to do with it, or are kernals necessary to do? i have no idea what one even is to begin with so if that will improve the keyboard and or permit it from failing that would be worth looking into.. or is their a way to increase sensitivity on the phone somehow?
Thanks!
It's not going to be a kernel issue. Kernels do effect how some things work, but the Bamf team pair their roms with a kernel they find most suitable with their work. Kernels are mostly for setting CPU speed and Voltages.
I don't think your issue is a rom/kernel related issue. Does this problem persist when you turn off the screen and turn it back on? Sometimes if you get sweat or moisture on the screen, it tends to freak out. Another thing you can try doing is just reflashing your rom. I remember putting the leaked OTA Gingerbread on my ex's Droid X and after 2 weeks, the screen started selected itself dead center of the screen. Reflashed the rom, and it hasn't done it since.
If all of these things fail, than you have a hardware issue I presume. I wish you luck
Does your problem occur consistently all the time, or only in certain situations?
I.e: When the screen has been off? When exiting certain apps, etc?
If it only happens in certain situations, it may be a clocking issue that is causing the "lag" response.
The only way ive found to fix it so far has been to wipe the screen down every time before use, but i find that odd because with the factory rom back when i never had to.. so i guess its just more suspectable to elememts interfearing with the actual screen.. i havent changed screen protectors or anything.. The craziest thing to me so far..
Which version of DasBAMF are you running? I have a similar problem with their Sense 3.0 roms. The buttons on the MLB at bat widget and the refresh button for the Pulse news widget seem to work only intermittently.

The problems with your widgets may be related to the resizing issues with the 3.0 rom and where on the screen you have to tap for it to recognize the tap. I think many have been fixed, but there may be still some odd ones here and there.

I was pointing out an issue with widgets on Das BAMF 3.0 as a specific example of an issue you might have. This point is not relevant since you are running 2.1.

On RC5, the 2 widgets I mentioned are still wonky. I'm sticking with 2.1 remix for now.
Do you have any kind of screen protector? I get that from time to time when my screen is dirty and as you said wiping it down has always fixed it.

Yeah, do screen protectors fade over time? as stupid as that sounds ive had this one on my phone for six months.. is it starting to break down or something?
also my next theory is temperature.. when my phone is exposed to hot areas it doesnt react.. i noticed that tonight
Edit!
I fixed the problem. I was going over my apps and their settings and I noticed that one of them, battery indicator pro had a lockscreen off feature which was flipped on. Totally weird! But I have my lockscreen back! Woot!
End edit :-D
Out of curiosity, has anyone else experienced this?
My 3VO's Lockscreen has disappeared. Legit.
When I press the screen lock button it simply doesn't. It turns the screen off, but it doesn't actually lock the phone.. as a consequence now the phone will do random things in my pocket and its annoying as hell.
I've tried a number of things to restore it just short of a full reset. That I'm trying to avoid because I use this phone as my main one and to restore all my setting would suck major ass.
Please someone shed some light on a solution for me?

Have you rooted and frozen some of the HTC APK's? (There's one for the lockscreen, I'd imagine) That's what it sounds like. If not, I'm not exactly sure what you can do aside from a factory reset...

I haven't even touched the whole perma-temp root thing. When we get permanent root then I'll crack this Guy open. But till then.. I'm not interested in it. Besides I actually like the sense 3.0 locksceen.
I seriously hope I dont have to factory wipe this thing. If i tell the phone to use apassword or pattern or pin code to lock up then the screen comes back .. but that's a pain in the ass to always unlock the stupid thing

hey guys i have the international version of the SGS3 it is non rooted and i have not fooled around with any custom firmware or anything running the stock firmware that came with the phone. It is just 12 days old. I have been facing very strange issues with the phone which are mentioned below, i tried contacting sammy support for help but the tech team was not available and they say that i will get a call back in 24hrs although i am quite sure all they will tell me is do a factory reset. My issues are
1) I am using the digital clock widget that came with the phone and it randomly freezes as in it stops at a certain time but the clock in the notification bar continues to work. I have to manually remove and place the widget again and it comes back with the correct time.
2) My home screen widgets start flashing on their own and i am unable to click on any widget, i have to restart the phone and it starts working again.
3) The led notification light starts blinking a wierd purple color all on its own even tho i have no notifications or anything on the phone again i need to restart the phone and it starts working, i tried installing Lite Flow lite to see if it solved the issue and with that installed the issue goes away but i would much prefer not having the software installed.
Any help from all of you guys would be appreciated. Also attached a screenshot of the 1st error.

For the time stuff i would maybe try reseting the time in settings and see if it helps. and also clear the cache for the digital clock in settings app, may also help.
as for the flashing and what not, i did see that before when i was flashing roms......figured it was a bad flash though, didnt think anything of it as it went away when i flashed my next Rom. would hate to tell you to to flash another Rom to fix your issue
have you dont factory reset in settings.....maybe that will clear it all up for you. i know you will have to redo your phone but if it fixes it then there you have it :cyclops:
the time issue has not happened in the last day, for the flashing part i am on the original firmware have not flashed any rom's was planning to flash omega but after i solve these issues.
My digital clock freezes over time as well...
ok so it seems to be an issue with the SGS3 only, are you using any custom firmware?
ok finally got a reply from sammy for
1) they say if u click on clear ram it will cause the digital clock widget to hang
2) for this issue they say restore factory setting
3) this is caused because the phone searches for signal and hence it blinks.
I'm stock, no root. I did factory reset and have not cleared RAM recently. My digital clock still tends to freeze.

I use beautiful widgets clock (paid version) (4x2), no freezes whatsoever.
Try to update to the latest firmware ^^ settings>About Phone>
...yes I STILL use the Lapdock
Anyway, after I remove my phone from the Lapdock it freezes and goes crazy for a few seconds as usual, but this time as well as others it seems to have left the wallpaper in a landscape orientation, even when I turn my phone upright for protrait orientation.
Have a look:
http://i.imgur.com/nbCcBtA.png
http://i.imgur.com/RjZsXsk.png
What is especially wierd is what you see on the second .png when I try to change the wallpaper to see if that does anything, the selector square has turned into a rectangle as if the phone was still on landscape. The icons, widgets and all else do rotate, just not the wallpaper. I am left with no other options as the settings for wallpaper on stock 2.3.6 leaves me only the option to change the backgroind image and it seems that I am the only one on the interwebs that is posting this issue.
The ROM and kernel is stock, I am using ADW Launcher but I am certain that that is not the culprit, I removed it but the problem persisted. I am also using Ubuntop 1.1 something or other but I doubt that is a culprit either.
Any ideas? Thanks so much in advance.

What happens after a battery pull?
Are you able to access recovery with the stock rom? just thinking about a dalvik wipe or a data wipe/factory reset? (maybe some bits of software not acting properly and a reset might help)
I don't have any experience with the Lapdock but maybe it is a software glitch?

The problem persists after a battery pull and re-insertion. Since it wasn't the VERY first thing I did, recovering the img of the current rom didn't work as the problem occurred BEFORE I saved a backup, although the problem DOES go away when do a from-scratch recovery using a fruitcake system/kernel/webtop img.
So would wiping the Dalvik cache not mess up my setup or anything? I may consider doing that as I'm not looking forward to doing a clean wipe every time this problem happens, and it happens VERY easily.
Thanks
Wiping Dalvik won't change any settings or cause any problems and it might help.
I am still thinking that your problem is a software glitch - one workaround might be to fix the wallpaper in the 'horizontal' position by unticking the 'auto-rotate' setting (not sure if this would effect your lapdock experience though )
One last workaround would be to reinstall your Rom without a data wipe (so all your settings/apps are still there) and see if that helps.

Dalvik cache is wiped and the wallpaper orientation option was ticked and un ticked but the problem STILL remains. I suppose my next step is to re-flash the ROM, but I'm hoping that doing so won't wipe and restore webtop to stock (it's on Ubuntop instead).
Here's another kicker! I don't have this problem on LIVE wallpapers, orientation works just fine there, only on static wallpapers am I seeing this issue.
Anyway, I've looked into debugging the display on the native OS to try to a fix together, I'll see how that goes...
How do other apps behave? Also stuck on landscape or not?
I'm thinking it could be a launcher issue after all if that's the only place where this is happening.

Thanks for the feedback,
The behavior of the other apps are good, no issue with them whatsoever.
I have already uninstalled ADW launcher and stayed stock for a few hours and that didn't resolve the issue. I shall do it agin but this time reman in stock for longer.
I got the launcher BECAUSE the stock home screen doesn't rotate and I prefer to mount my phone sideways in my car. What is baffling is that it DOES go to landscape orientation when I plug the phone onto the Lapdock. Weird.
I was wondering if anybody else had this problem but the more I search the more I find that I may be the only one with the isssue, thus I'm thinking it can be due to my personal phone setup rather than a glitch. If I DO find a fix, I'll put it up nonetheless...
I have the exact same issue with Atrix 4G and ADW launcher
I have the exact issue you described and I did the same but ni good results so far. The only difference is that i was using the multimedia dock instead of the laptop dock (which I was thinking to buy). I just got the phone yesterday and the dock today and when testing for the 1st time i got the wallpaper wrongly oriented.. any help?
I installed after that the wallpaper wizardii app to see if it could fix it but no luck..
Thanks a lot.

Buggy wallpaper configuration. Try this, it might help.
- Install GO Launcher EX and set your wallpaper.
- Every time after undock the phone, press menu > wallpaper > press lock and and unlock for few times.
It work for me.
Just to chip in that I had the same (or very similar) problem: Nottachtrix ROM, ADW Launcher, multimedia dock. Swapping out the launcher to GO Launcher EX per AeroMiku's suggestion has worked for me ... for the moment!
I notice that the double click of the power button still opens the camera in nougat and now there doesn't seem to be a way to switch it off. I've accidentally triggered this twice, hit home to close camera, then pressed the power button to switch off. Soon after on both occasions the phone has partially rebooted in my pocket, sticking on the Wiley fox boot logo.
Anybody else confirm this behaviour? Not something you do everyday I guess......
Hi Ratbags, I tried it for you... I never noticed that tapping the power button twice starts the camera, but indeed it does; however my phone didn't reboot (so it also didn't get stuck).
Hallo ratbags, i can confirm this behaviour in my Swift 2 Plus with Nougat Android. Noticed that randoms reboots some while ago and with your hint about power double click i am able to reproduce it.
To switch it off
Go to parameters
Use the search option and search gestures
Click on Gestures and then you'll find the option you are looking for

Thanks for that. I believe Wiley fox are bringing out an update to fix this issue. Strange you can only get to that setting by searching or is it hidden away somewhere deep in a settings submenu?

I didn't find it anywhere else so I think it's hidden
There's others hidden menu (and some are not even working at all - like battery percentage). I think that it's the trace of some modifications of parameters that weren't done correctly, or those parameters were disabled because the option didn't work well.
With latest update Build no. TOS118C the Gestures are available in Options Menu. The "not quite random reboot" seems to befixed too. Tested it several times and got no reboot since 3 hours.
Was just scanning the forum for any reports of random reboots as I've also been having reboots and it hanging on the white WileyFox logo screen.
Have noticed it more since the more recent official updates and have even gone so far as a full factory reset, however, I've had the issue reoccur several times since then (reset done earlier in week) so will be interesting to see if disabling that camera gesture will help
Beyond that I'm thinking possibly a corrupt or "worn" SD Card as I have a MicroSD card, used to extend the internal storage, that I think I used for a year or so in my previously Swift so possibly suffering some mild wear....
