I have a Lobster with Windows Vista (Mobile Device Center 6.1)
Should it be possible by default (or is it possible at all) to surf the internet via Bluetooth / USB cable rather than GPRS?
I can Sync via Bluetooth fine.
Thanks for your help!
browsing via bluetooth or usb
You may have already got this working, but I only just saw your post.
The answer is yes, if your active-sync works actually the USB connection should connect you to the internet through the PC. Bluetooth is a bit more difficult since Microsoft has never understood bluetooth properly (compare with the Nokia PC suite where it takes about 2 clicks to set up!). Anyway after an hour or so of frustration I was able to browse over b/t on my Lobster.
Just for fun I installed Fring and was also able to use Skype and SIP the
same way.
Now just need to unlock the phone!
Good luck.
Mike.

Hi,
I just bought an USB Bluetooth Dongle Adapter 100M. I can get some connection with the delivered program BlueSoleil but I liked more activesync.
I uninstalled this software and tried activesync 4 beta but it didnt work, and also not with activesync 3.8 final version.
The question is how can I easily connect via bluetooth usb to activesync?
The following is done yet :
------------------------------
- Activesync is installed (tried with USB,comport 4,5 and 6 yet)
- Bluetooth adaptor driver is installed & working
- Blue tooth is turned on + discoverable to other devices + receive beams
(I also turned off receive incomming beams but no difference)
- New device has been added : my PC & MDAII are paired
Then I choose on the MDA connect via Bluetooth, the icon says connecting, and also the green icon on my pc, but there`s no activesync synchronisation.
I read the activesync helpfile, but I work with the latest Windows Media Center Edition, and I don`t have Bluetooth panel in control panel/printers and other hardware.
I`m also not sure which comports to take, I think 4 or 6.
I downloaded some other tool BTHTools1100, but not so simple either.
Has anyone a quick and clear solution to synchronise MDA II with Activesync via Bluetooth with portnumbers?
Or another program like activesync with the same function?
Thanks,
Innovator  8) :?
I am looking to hear from people who have vista and have actrivelync working via bluetooth. I am looking for the model or the bluetooth adapter and the procedure they used to get it to work.
I currently have the activesync listed on my phone as an option but despite that when I try to bluetooth activesync it says there is no device in range..
i had vista and it was working on mine...i actually have windows 7 rc now and its still working fine...i have the rocketfish bluetooth dongle from best buy...works great!!
cheers!!
I have vista and use it to sync with my Phone. I use a rocketfish bluetooth adapter. It works good you have to pair it with the computer first time like pairing a bluetooth headset. Just follow the pairing instructions on the phone and the computer also you have to make them both discoverable when pairing

Make sure "Windows Mobile Device Center" is up and running on your computer before connecting via ActiveSync from your phone. Let me know if you run into issues.
Hello everybody,
I'm searching for following solution. During office day my Android (SG2) is bound to USB and so connected to workstation for the whole day. I'm also using a headset bound to workstation also connected by USB for VoIP and Music (of coz).
Question: To avoid a second headset (for the phone), is there a solution, which could bind the workstation connected headset virtually to the attached Android device as local headset. So whenever a call comes in on the phone, I would use the desktop headset for the call?
Thank you
Dejan

Moving to Q&A
I purchased an ASUS USB-BT21 that allows me to do this on my Windows 7 PC. It uses the Broadcom 2046 chip (use to be WIDCOMM I believe) and the software that comes with it (or download from their site) allows me to pair it with my SGS and answer calls on my PC.
I think any Bluetooth 2.1+EDR adapter should allow you to do this, but I dont know that for sure.

I use the Plantronics Voyager Pro UC2 headset because it pairs with my computer and phone simultaneously. It's also capable of some interesting "presence" stuff when it connects to either device and if you're on the phone or not.
Hello all,
thank you for the input, it seems more fisible to enable BT on PC as merging any USB to BT gateway over PC to Android.

Dejan
I bought a bluetooth dongle on Amazon (ORICO BTA 403, CSR8510 A10 chipset) and installed it on my Windows 7 x64 computer.
The dongle installs fine and works perfectly with all my older phones but not with my Xperia S running Android 4.1.2.
Basically, if I install the automatic windows driver, and pair with the phone, windows complains about no drivers for the device, and I can't do anything with it.
If I install the supplied software (CSR Harmony wireless software stack) I can pair and the Xperia S is installed properly, the various audio services work (I can stream music to PC using BT), but I still can't send or receive files, either from PC to Phone or from Phone to PC.
The connection times out after a second and gives me a connectivity error. It's like the phone refuses to connect to the PC, both when transferring and receiving.
I don't know if the phone is the problem, it seems to not work only when doing file transfers with PC, if I try to transfer files to other phones or to my mac (which has built in BT) it works fine.
Is there any way to fix this issue? Any way to troubleshoot this issue to tell if the problem comes from the phone or the dongle?
Searching with google I can't find any solution, I just get lost into a sea of bluetooth problems which have nothing to do with what I'm experiencing.
By the way, using Airdroid instead of BT is not a fix.

your problem is bare and I think you can try these two solutions out:
1- Restart your phone and check whether your problem has solved or not. 2- Restart your windows and also turn off your Antivirus and firewall and try again.

1.Its not a phone its Headphones. 2.Restart made no difference plus Antivirus/firewall not the cause, seems to be a driver problem when installing from windows update! Ta all the same.
The problem is ****ty drivers from the manufacturer. I installed Bluesoleil and it worked perfectly. Another solution is to use the Windows stack by manually installing drivers from the MS Windows Mobile Suite (or whatever it's called, I don't remember) but that only supports file transfer.
Bluetooth issue
My Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G does not connect automatically to my paired devices like car (most important), speaker, pc, headset. I always have to connect manually, entering the Bluetooth menu and select the device and connect it.
It has the latest global rom.
Tried to sent the issue to Xiaomi, added logs, but no response from them. Searched Internet, no solution.
Anyone has a solution?
Laptop no connection
I found a solution here to connect to laptop/pc with a USB-A port and it works but...
My Asus laptop doesn't have a USB-A port only 2 USB-C ports and I cannot connect the phone here. Updated all drivers etc. but no connection.
This is frustrating since I want to transfer music this way.
Any solution would be great.
Thx for the support
