Noise cancelling head/neckphones or well padded circumaurals. - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Accessories

Has anyone found an OK set at an OK price?
The quality from 'phones is always better than plugs and I would prefer circumaural to supra (entirely round your ear rather than sitting on your ears) as they are comfier when you rest your head on something on a long distance flight/train/coach. In saying that, circumaurals with good padding and closed backs take out a lot of noise on their own, so dont really need noise cancelling kit as much too.
The best priced ones so far seem to be...
http://svp.co.uk/products-solo.php?pid=1275
but they are supra' - though I unsure of how a wizard would get on powering something that looks as beefy as....
http://www.richersounds.com/showproduct.php?cda=showproduct&pid=SENN-HD280
Some wireless ones looked a good bet and had their own power obviously - but I cannot see them going down well on planes.
Any suggections/recommendations?

Best earbud stereo bluetooth headset for Tytn?

So many to choose from, so many of them crappy.
I've tried the Sony ericsson HBH-DS970 and Itech R-35, the sony had good sound but too many connection issues etc, the itech only worked -ok- and had a flimsy spring/generally low quality feeling and glitches.
These are ones that I think -might- work well, I've probably overlooked some: Nokia BH-500, SIEMENS HHB-750, SONY DR-BT10CX, Sony Ericcson HBH-DS200, Jabra BT320s, Plantronics 260.
I need good sound quality and it needs to...work.
Anyone?
Plantronics discovery 640e
Right now it is 59.99 after 20 mail in rebate at radioshack in US. Wife approved! I took back all the Moto ones I bought cuz the little misses hated the sound. I use the Kenwood BT1000 that is intergrated into my car stereo when driving. Love it!
Sorry! I just Re-read the post..... this is NOT stereo bt headset
The Motorola s705's work great with my 8525. You can use on earbuds also.
Mr
Looks interesting, a bit bulky but I read that it works reliably, and issues? How good is sound and speech quality?
I have exactly the same question... I was just about to order some Sony DS970 but will see what kind of responses arrive here. Grkn, exactly what connection problems did you have with the Sony?
I had it a long time ago, probably with the default rom and little BT tweaking, but I remember I didn't get it to work properly, maybe I couldn't answer calls, I DO remember there were periodic stuttering. It also didn't have a clip.
But the sound quality was great, and It's very cheap on ebay, I'm tempted to give it another try.

Be careful of the cheap ones on Ebay there were some very good looking fakes going around. Do a google search and you'll find the pictures... not easy to tell the difference at a cursory glance but sound is no way as good.
motorola makes the s9. best out right now. in ear, sleek, low profile, and great for working out and running with. sound quality is awsome, gets even better if you tweak your ad2p. = )

Sound is good but it's sensitive for range, just my arm in the way between it and Tytn causes sound drop outs.
Don't know if this is as sensitive on other models?
Plantronics 260
I really like my Plantronics 260's. Sound great, (especially with one of my roms ), and connect flawlessly. Someone else said his broke, but I don't stress mine physically and its been fine over a month now. I can't compare it to others though as they are the only ones I've had.
jUST GOT THE jABRA jx10 series2 and I'm quite happy with this one so far. Sound and range is good. Phone rings at the same time as I hear it's ringing in the headset. I hoped for a mini usb connector for charging but no such luck.
It comes with a short cable that goes from their special connector to large USB connector so I can use a power adapter I have where I can connect USB charge cable, so I can use this on my travels for charging both headset andmy tYTN.
oPS.. sorry missed the stereo part....
its all about how much you want to spend, the level of quality of music/sound you require, and the shape of your head and ears, and much of a goof you want to look like in public.
The Motorola Bluetoothâ„¢ Active Headphones S9 seem to be the most popular for now, and can be bought for less then 99 USD.
And they'll work with anything Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) and Audio Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) compatible. (ipod bluetooth interface sold separately)
And they do have a built-in mic for incoming/out going calls.
These have inter-ear rubber buds ... that I hate its like having a rubber q-tip jammed down in your ear ... not fun... but some people swear by them. -- for this reason, I wouldn't buy them off ebay in case you wanted to return them without going insane.

Mr
For me they're out of the question due to their cyborg look
The S9's worked pretty good for me, except the speakers blew out 3 months in. Now i'm looking for a new set.
S9... the way to go.
Lost my previous and perfect headphones...boohoo
I recently lost my beautiful and never gone wrong bluetooth headset. I still feel gutted. I looked everywhere as I am not one to misplace anything or so I thought. I went through the garbage too!! thats how upsetting it was. I couldn't and still can't imagine for the life of me where the hell they are.
So..yesterday after carefully consideration and bank balance checking...cough cough splutter splutter (bit short of funds at the mo but just enough left to cover some headphones)...I popped along to our good old friendly eBay site...
Found some S9 Moto and won them. I was unsure whether to buy them or not as I have read so much negative reports on line as to how easy it is to be ripped off and stuck with a low quality copy pair.
I have checked best I could and am moderately confident that I have won a legitimate pair as the seller has 100 positive feedback. Postage costs are high but feedback relates mostly to excellent speed of items received along with next day delivery.
I do hope they work well with my hermes as I want to use them whilst on the bus, on the treadmill, walking about, at college, jogging etc.
Fingers Crossed guys.
Heres the link is anyone knows what to look for (checking legit items against dodgy etc)

I have a Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970, realy nice sound only the playtime sucks.
No BT skipping problems.
How long is the playtime?
I've received the Jabra 320s, works like a charm both listening to music and using it as a headset. Sound quality is adequate.
Maybe 3 hours playing time

I am also looking into this.
Surely the best way to go is to get a unit that allows you to plug in your own headphones. via a standard 3.5 jack connector.
2 reasons, the headphone part of these units will be the first thing to die, you can just replace them instead of the whole unit.... and you can use whatever type of phones you prefer (also connect to an amplifier....)
My issue is finding one that has a reliable connection and playtime.
I don't mind paying that bit extra if it works and does it for long enough!
Any users of the HTC S100 about?
http://www.expansys.com/htc/p_htc_item.aspx?i=140285
I have a feeling th only downside of this unit might be that if I stick in my Sony Fontopia earbuds then the hands free part won't have it.... no-one seems to know!

Wing earbuds design faulty? one side is shorter then other!

Hello everyone
I got my Wing couple weeks ago, but I just got to testing the headset/earbuds that came with it. Anyways, when I opened them, it looks like one string of an earbud is shorter then the other. So the middle piece with volume control on it is not centered in the middle, which is very uncomfortable. I didn't find any way to adjust it. Anyone else has the same problem, or am I on the only one with "faulty" earbuds? Please respond. I purchased online through Business Services on a current deal. If I take it to T-Mobile store, will they replace? Thanks a lot.
It really is a crappy design flaw but thats the way they come. With the weight of the volume control on one side of the headphones, that side tends to fall out of my ear. Really sorry design on they're part.
I'd say go with the bluetooth stereo headsets. The sound quality is better and you dont have to worry about the faulty wires being in the way. I invested in one the other day and come to find out other than listening to music, they also pick up calls. You can find good deals on ebay.

The ones I picked up are made by Motorola. Check the ones I bought on this link.

There's also a few diferent types to choose from. Just do a search for Bluetooth Stereo Headsets and you'll see.
You do realize most headphones are like this now, just grab a set of ipod headphones and you'll know what I mean.

Can you just give us the model number? Or possibly a valid item# for the once you like? Link is not working (item removed). Thanks...
The model number is BCK-08. they have a bunch of 'em listed
Ummmm, it's not a defect!
Guys you do realize that there is a perfectly logical reason for this right??? Well, since you don't...LOL... Well, it's because the short side goes into one ear, and the other wraps around the back of you neck, so that they fit comfortably... The ear buds are labled, just follow the instructions above and everything should come together for you... They're not defective guys...
Yeah, thanks! Weird!
i agree... its done purpose fully.. not a defect
I still think it's a bad design because the side with the mic always gets knocked out of my ear or the mic gets caught on something, zipper, collar, button. I'm left-handed, so at least with symmetrical buds I don't have to be reminded that it's a right-handed world.
Be careful with bluetooth, the wing isn't really designed as a music player, even though it can do it. I got some bluetooth headphones made by insignia that work flawlessly with my partner's Samsung Upstage, but have this crackle with my Wing, only when playing music, and no, the sound files are fine, it's the wing's bluetooth connection that's messed up.
Have you tweaked the bluetooth stack (the bitrate and such) for better quality?

Brilliant Headphone Holder

Hi,
Am I the only one here who always struggles to find a good way to store my headphones? I usually wrap them around themselves, but this normally leads to kinks in the cables and a mass of knots
I just spotted something called "Cable Turtles". I can't believe how simple they are, or more importantly, that I have never seen them before!!
I have just ordered a small black one from here
When it arrives I will post my thoughts on it.
Cheers
Zippyioa
Boy, those looks brilliant indeed. Will order one, I too have had some problems with where to store the cable. I hate wrapping
Bloomin' Royal Mail strikes have delayed the delivery of this fine product.
As soon as it arrives I will post my views for anyone who is interested!
Cheers

Hi B&B,
They did arrive in the end (thanks Royal Mail!).
Overall I love them, however I think that the small ones, despite being listed as "for headphones" are too small. They hold the cable fine, but they are not large enough to encase the whole headphone (see picture)
If I ordered again I would probably go for the medium size to be honest.
Cheers
Zippyioa
whatever happened to those things that your earphones came in that you wind up
this is back in the walkman days like 1997
pretty much all earphones used to come sold with one of those things

They are hard to find nowadays! AND the flat volume control bit on the headphones stops them rotating so they dont work for Hero headphones :-(

oh i didnt know there was a volume control on the hero headphones. didnt even open the bag or look at them. I figured id just use my cheap sennheiser cx300 anyway.
I actually bought the medium one and the headphones fit just about right. Could be a bit bigger as its a tight fit, but overall it works fine. Large would probably be overkill

In ear bluetooth headset, best?

Hey guys! I had a pair of beats tours, but I blew the speaker today (twice now) so I am looking for something new.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a pair of in ear bluetooth headphones?
Something that can be very loud with a decent (~6 hours streaming) battery life?
I know I don't want the LG ones with the 'necklace', way to ridiculous for me lol.
Price is not an issue.
Thanks!
Get a small Bluetooth receiver and then pick your own IEMs IMO, way better bang for your buck... Unless you're completely against the notion of slipping a matchbook sized receiver in your pocket or clipping it somewhere. This Sony receiver actually comes with some headphones (can't speak to their quality) but you could use any pair of headphones, it has built in controls and a display even. Proprietary charging cable I think but that's par for the course with Sony.
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Ericsson-Bluetooth-Stereo-Headset/dp/B003DQ1DCM/ref=pd_cp_cps_pw_1
I got this more basic receiver for other uses but I've used it with my Senheisser CX300, JVC 'mallows, and MEElec M9P headphones without issue, main drawback is no mic or controls, little cheaper tho and it probably has better range:
http://www.amazon.com/Miccus-BluBridge-mini-jack-Rx-Bluetooth/dp/B0038MA11U
These are THE smallest BT headphones I've seen, not worth the extra $20 if you ask me tho:
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Ericsson-HBH-IS800-Wireless-Headphone/dp/B001QTW21Y/ref=pd_sim_cps5
Battery life on those is obviously worse, tho it might be sufficient for you. I can't remember what other drawbacks I noted tho (they've been around a few years, used to cost $200), besides the fact that you're tied to the integrated headphones forever, and they're probably $20-30 quality headphones (which isn't bad per se, just depends on your needs and budget). Controlling playback is also probably fussier, if at all possible.
No one makes very high end BT headphones because you do lose some quality due to the compression BT uses, tho it's fine for mobile and car use IMO... But I'm not an audiophile and I don't pay more than $70 for a pair of headphon, and lately not even half that. Home cans are JCV RX700, cost $30, you'd be amazed at what you can get with a small budget if you just do some research (Head-Fi.org).
Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it. I was thinking more so the ones that are connected with the 1ft ish cord connecting it, but didn't even consider that option. I'll check them out, thanks again.
Edited the post with some extra comments, not quite sure what type of !BT headphone you're alluding too tho. Most of the others I've seen either have a behind the head band or they're over the ear and bulkier.
I've seen a couple other IEMs that are just tethered by one short cord (Jaybirds?) but they're still bulkier than those last Sony I linked, and probably not much cheaper... Might as well go with the sleekest possible if you wanna go that route, I'm not a Sony fan by any means but I doubt similar sets from companies that don't make any other audio gear (besides BT stuff and phone accesories) are gonna sound any better. My 2c

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005B28DOM/ref=aw_d_iv_wireless?is=l&qid=1318655745&sr=8-16
But really looking for options, opinions, reviews.
I'll check out the website you posted, thanks.
Also, the BT receiver defeats the purpose of having a BT headset for me because 100% of the time the phone will be in my pocket anyways lol.
Hmm, whatever you linked isn't showing up on my Transformer... Point of the receiver is you can take the phone out and whatever without wrangling or dangling the cord, those receivers are tiny enough for a shirt pocket even... But if compact is what you want I haven't really seen anything smaller than those Sony I linked (last link). The whole BT/battery module is a tiny capsule mid string, most other BT IEMs I've seen are bulkier on the ear components.

Yeah I understand why you like the receiver, it just doesn't do anything for me.
I do like the ones in the last link, similar to the ones I linked, but was asking for reviews. They would be well worth the extra $20 in my book, if they work well.

These are available in AT&T stores now, though its cheaper to get them on eBay right now due to not having to pay tax. They seem to be sold out online, but they are in stock in every AT&T store in my area for 149.00. They are awesome, by the way. Great sound and great design. I had the 730's and these are so much better in every way, especially when running/working out.
Also have these and the prior top model. The new ones sound worse due to lack of bass and overall fullness. Also no noise cancellation. Bummer. They've also bigger and harder to fit under my work dress shirt. Only thing good is the retractable cables.
Picked mine up today and not impressed. I like the design, it lays flatter than my 730's did and doesn't twist around my neck when I do any leaning over. The retractable wires are great I'm impressed with the overall design and functionality. What I'm not impressed with is the sound quality. My 730's are way louder and have more bass. Even with the built in equalizer on the infinum they are not better sounding. Trying to decide if I'm going to return them. At $160 after tax I'm not too too pleased.
Have you tried using another player to boost the bass?
I installed viper it helped a little with the bass. I haven't used power amp in a while might have to bring it back..
Edit: Power amp sounds even worse. I don't know kinda starting to like the headset.
Well after a day of owning these I'm becoming more pleased. While the bass might not be as heavy as I like they're overall pretty clear. Anyone else that owns these know if the call and/or music button are supposed to blink at all? I was under the impression they were supposed to blink red..
I love mine. As soon as I found the equalizer setting and I changed the setting it sounds amazing. I just love them and the sound and I am an audiophile. The ONLY thing is now it turns on and off on its own. It is really annoying. Im going to go get it switched outn other than that I ABSOLUTELY love them for movies, games and music. Some people are leaving ignorant bad reviews o n other sites of it. Have they looked at the manual? Thats what I did. Also the red ring buttons around the buttons not lighting up was a little bit of a disappointment. But I'll live lol

Like I said they've grown on me quite a bit. I contacted Lg about the red lights. They said they're supposed to light up and suggested I return them for exchange. I did so and the new ones don't blink either. Neither did the service reps at the store. So I don't know if Lg has no clue or we all got defective devices, I think the first option is the case.
I have been using the hsb-700 model for at least 4 years and the are still working fine. But this looks like it would be a nice upgrade. The retractable wires would solve my one dislike on the 700, and better sound is always good! I'll have to put them on my wishlist.
I loved the sound on mine, but the retraction mechanism stuck a couple of times in the first few days. I don't think the red actually lights up like the picture on the box. One of the "features" is that the light is not as annoying as it used to be and it was put on the inside of the headset.
I returned them and picked up the 750's. The sound (bass included) is comparable, but not as clear at higher volumes. Also, the earbuds on the 900's were perfect. They are the same size (IMO) as the 700's and fit perfect in my ear. The 750 earbuds are way too big.
So, now I am debating going back to the 900's because they have the best combination of sound and comfort. I'll just have to get a 3 year, $15 squaretrade warranty to cover the thin wires and mechanism.
About to be on my fourth pair of these. The second pairs right earbud quit working after two weeks. Now the third pairs play/pause and track slider arent working properly. Just got off the phone with Lg and theyre going to replace them again. I just hope this isnt an ongoing issue with these. Hope this pair will be my last.
Sounds like i should just shut up and be happy that my 750's work perfectly...
wow that thing looks ugly as hell...
