I know this is a little Bizzare, I actually do want to use the phone on my device, but for some reason, I am not getting all of my incomming calls.
I can make new calls (outgoing) no problem, but incomming calls go to Voicemail after 4 rings. The device doesnt even wake up, or illuminate to say there is a call.
Call log showed no calls, while my Wife's wizard showed she had called me 16 (yeah, she tried a LOT) times.
Is this a known issue with the Faria Rom?
IPL/SPL 2.25.0001
OS 2.18.0.0
Service is Cinguler (oops i mean AT&T)
have you upgraded to a custom rom lately? since most of the wm6 roms people highly recommend using the t-mobile uk radio rom 2.19.
mdajunkie is correct. Radio 2.19.11 should solve your problem.

Okay, so I've never posted here before.. I've only lurked enough to figure out how to install a WM6 ROM on my phone.
I've been having a lot of problems with my Hermes lately (can't make/receive calls, sim missing, text messages not sending or receiving)... I have not figured out if it's from dropping it too much or if it's because I'd been running a WM6 rom on it. So I decided on Saturday to switch to another version of the WM6 ROM's available around here...
I installed 3DES.3 and so far I've been having more and more issues as far as making and receiving phone calls.
So the issue is that with the slider closed I'd go to the phone screen and then t9 in a user's name and then call them. The call would not connect... I kept trying and normally wouldn't notice the number it's trying to dial, but the phone is trying to dial a 107140 in front of every call made through the t9 dial menu.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Is the ROM trying to make long distance calls on our behalf? Should it be taken off the website?
Thanks guys,
Mitchel

the ROM you are talking about isnt exploited to my knowledge... but it is old and i think 3DES has stopped supporting it...
you are also in the wrong Forum... you should have posted in Hermes Windows Mobile 6... download this ROM and try it...
Thanks for the fast reply. I'll switch over to that ROM. Something is definitely up with this ROM though.
Thanks again,
Mitchel
During the past several months I've tried several WM6 ROMs - mostly PDAViet's. Currently I have the following:
ROM version: 7.7.7.7 WWE
ROM Date: 9/08/07
Radio version: 1_02.20.21
Protocol Version 4.1.13.9
ExtROM version: Mystrerious 1.0
The device is Imate's Jamin (Prophet G3). Since I started to use WM6, I am often having the problem when I cannot receive the incoming calls from time to time - my friends have to leave the voice messages in my mailbox even when my phone is on and the cell coverage is great. It seems that it is related to GPRS activity - I have GPRS/EDGE internet connection always on and I have my email synchronized with an Exchange server over the air. What is even worse, I have no way of knowing if someone has called me - even if they leave a voice message I am getting no notification on the PDA. I started to call my own cell number often trying to understand the pattern and I noticed that when I cannot get through, I can disable the GPRS and after that the call gets through.
I don't remember having such problems with original WM5 ROM when I purchased my Prophet, so I assume it is related to WM6.
As I said, I tried different ROMs and different RadioROMs (now I rolled back to the original RadioROM originally provided by Imate, since I saw no improvement with newer RadioROMs).
I have T-Mobile USA mobile service with Total Internet plan if it makes any difference...
The questions:
is anyone else experiencing problems like this? any workarounds?
is phone line is supposed to work simultaneously with GPRS? Could it be caused by a difference between [GPRS simply connected and no internet activity] and [GPRS connected and sending/receiving data]?
could it be related to the settings of activesync (how often it syncs with Exchange or be continuously connected)?
Any help is greatly appreciated...
Incase there is any data transfer happening at the time of the call coming in (pls note even while polling there is some data being transfered) the call will not go thru.
I have been using WM6 roms for the past six months... from my signature you can see how many i have treid, in each of the roms.. I also use push mail, hence I am always connected thru edge....I get phone calls even when connected to GPRS.. however if there is any data transfer happening at that point in time the call goes into my voice mail.
i think it is problem of your service provider, try another radio rom?
I am having the same problem, any solutions?
It happens to my device roughly once a month, and my GPRS is always off. So IMHO it is related to WM6. It did not happened on WM5.
My gprs (edge) connection is always on and I have the same problems on the radio rom 2.41.21. Try to use the radio 2.61.21 - no problems with incoming calls...
Korand, thanks for the suggestion. I actually tried 2.61.21 a couple of months ago - it didn't fix this problem
For now, I've changed my Activesync settings so that it will sync data via GPRS every 30 mins (before it was "stay connected all the time") - hopefully it will decrease the probability of getting the incoming call at the time of data transfer.

lol... this is no problem.. this is wht is supposd to happen on GSm.. because it works on a single FM frequency n not a band like CDMA or TDMA.. this is normal.. its jus like whne ur using ur dialup internet n ur phone line gets busy.. soo no solution unless u switch to TDMA
hahahha, you don't know what are you talking about, what FM frequency, this is not Benefon Delta lol

ok.. then can u tell me the kind of modulation is used in GSM.. go wikipedia ur ass n u will see wht im talkin.. ur such a n00b
it is Gaussian minimum shift keying (GMSK).. jus a modified version of FM to use support multiple communications on a single frequency.. talk to me when u got ur engineering degree..
No calls reception - no calls outgoing
I have a TYTNII who suddently has the same problem of incoming calls directly to mailbox, for each calls, and also I can't call anymore.
Does anyone solve this problem?
With the Sim card in my Qtek 8300 WM5 I don't have the problem.
HTC support say they don't know this problem and ask to make a hard reset...
ROM 1.56.406.5 (30/8/2007)
Radio 1.27.12.32

seems then its a common problem since tytnII has it may be there is something written in registry to divert call to voicemail while data traffic is going ON to avoid bad colliding accidents of voice and data packets on the same highway
to avoid dirty signals..thats all..
btw,all i know is that GPRS+receive calls = bandwidth bottleneck...see? how "cheap" the GSM is
so,the solution is to disable one of them...
Sorry for the noob question, but i have looked everywhere and could not find an answer.
So yesterday I install nueSPL 2.47, on my Verizon XV6800 and then flashed to Radio 3.42.50 and then flashed to DCD Rom 3.2.6. I had some problems with authentication, so I called Verizon and they couldn't fix the problem at night because the system was down but they were able to fix things the next morning. Not sure what they did because they didn't give me a new A-Key over the phone.
So after that I was able to place calls out. I then downloaded the Verizon cab and was able to connect to the internet. I am also able to send and receive txt messages, but I can not receive phone calls. Now strangely after ending a call, I did receive one phone call but that was it. The rest of the time anyone calls it only rings on their end and then goes to voice mail. Then a few seconds later I will get a notification that I have a voicemail.
So since all this happened I have reflashed the dcd rom and reloaded the carrier cab. and called both *228 -1 and *228 -2. I still can call out, use gps, internet, and txt, but not get any calls. Any one have any ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
that very interesting... I recently upgraded my father in law's phone and also experianed the same thing.
Also interesting, when I did the upgrade to my phone a few months ago I had to get an a key.. I also had to get one once after a hard reset. Perhaps they fixed something for this.
Keep calling VZW not all techs know what there talking about, eventuality you will run into one that know exactly how to fix your problem.
Hello,
I recently upgraded my verizon vx6800 from the stock radio and OS to
3.37.75 and 3.3.4.
The first time i loaded the radio and OS, i proceded to load activesync (to work exchange), media player, google maps, ect...
I then noticed that 95% of the time when a incoming call would come in, the caller ID correctly displayed, the phone rang and vibrated correctly, my bluetooth even rung, yet i could not accept the incoming call. Even the accept button on the phones LCD would flash when i would hit it, yet the call still wouldn't answer. i could end the call with no problems, or even mute the ringer with no problems.
problem happens with bluetooth enabled and disabled. doesn't matter if i try and accept the call from the bluetooth.
if i'm on the phone, and another call comes in, i can switch between the calls no problems.
out going calls are working 100%.
so, i reloaded the 3.3.4 OS. Tested incoming phone calls, and they worked 100% of the time. I loaded my bluetooth, tested incoming calls, 100%. I loaded activesync, and after 30mins of letting everything sync (tons of emails, 4000 contacts, crazy calendar) i decided to test incoming calls. The problem starts to re-occur; incoming calls ring my phone, but i can't answer them!
[email protected]! i also search google and these forums and haven't seen anyone with a similar issue.
I recently reinstalled faria crossbow on my g4 wizard (T-mobile MDA unlocked to AT&T) and went from radio 2.25.11 to 3.02, because I was having the common missed calls problem. I always used faria crossbow in the past (for 2 years now) without any problems to speak of.
I noticed this morning that when I go to check my voicemail I can't press any keys in-call to delete or repeat my messages. I can hear the tones as the buttons are pushed, but they do nothing to my voicemails. This also applies to any other calls which use touchtone features, like calling the bank or my insurance company and needing to press '0' for operator. It seems there is no communication between the phone and the network once a call is established.
I tried searching for this issue on google, but its a hard issue to condense into a search term ("touchtone mda problem", for example). So I'm starting a thread because I've had this problem with an 8525 I bought a couple years ago, and after several months of frustration I ended up selling the phone and going back to the 8125/MDA.
Please help me out!
In my experience, changing the keypad tone from long tones to short tones works for me.

Maybe you can try and see if that helps you, or the reverse of that.

Go to Start, Settings, Personal tab, select Phone and change the Keypad: tone.
seems like it should be something simple like that, but no dice. you say you had the same problem and that fixed it?
I had issues with my banks automated system until I switched to short tones then everything worked.
Since this didn’t work for you there must be some other issue.
You could backup your phones info and try a hard reset.
