Help needed!
I had G4 device and wanted to upgrade to WM6. I followed the steps
1-Downloaded Unlockwizard and run it as instructed.
2-Downloaded SPL/IPL 3.08 and upgraded.
3-System rebooted as normal.
4-Flashed latest WM6 ROM from (PDAVIET).
5-System hanged and then NO POWER, NO BOOTLOADER MODE.
Please help if it can be recovered.
Question ... you have use Unlockwizard? Have you SIM unlock or CID too?
Have you realy reboot after IPL/SPL 3.08 update?
I used lokowiz02b to unlock the device.
First did CID unlocking and then Unlocking, both went well.
I rebooted after IPL/SPL 3.08 and booted normal.
Are you sure it is a G4?
If so, congratulation that you have bricked your device, and you can't recover it by any easy way (In fact, the only way is to use JTAG connector, however only a few people is successful).
Blame yourself by not reading the stickies carefully.
this is why i ask the question ... unlock G4 realy??
you cant CID unlock a G4! only g3 is possible with lockwiz.

i bought t-mobile mda vario locked on any network thats y i need to cha*g* imei no.
step 1-- "can you please tell me which specfic rom should i use to downgrade it 1st"..

step 3---- use iwizard to cha*g* the imei... any way what is awizard for???

You have a G4 device you CANNOT downgrade to a 1.x rom.
You CANNOT flash your IPL/SPL if you try you will definately make your device an unrecoverable brick.
IPL/SPL has nothing to do with CID or SIM locking or unlocking. They are the bootloaders for your radio and OS.
You should never have to change your IMEI number. This is actually illegal in some places. The only reason your IMEI number would not work is if your phone was stolen and in turn reported stolen by the original purchaser. In which case the IMEI would be blacklisted so the criminal could not make use of the stolen phone and hopefully would get the idea that stealing phones is not a profitable venture.
If you paid for and used the IMEI Unlocker software correctly then your device is probably unlocked and you can try flashing G4 safe roms to the device.
If your phone is locked you have the means to unlock it if you paid for it from the website, if you didn't pay for it and got it from someone else it will not work as the algorithm is based on the IMEI # I believe.
Lastly CID unlock is not the same as SIM unlock. What are you trying to do and WHY do you need to do these things to your phone? You haven't made this clear and I don't think you understand what you need to do to get your phone working the way you want it to, if you keep progressing this way you will ruin your device. I suggest you stop and read the G4 forums.
Hi mate,
i've got exactly the same device, look at my signature how flashed WM6, there is no need to get rid of IPL/SPL 2.21.0001 or G4, even CID-unlocking is not necessary. The only limitation is that you can't change the splashscreen - i don't mind it anyways.

Of course you can change the Splash Screens. I have a G4 Wizard and now have XDA Mobile 6 and added the Splash screens that are here:

but you need to use the Update Utility from Wizard Love, just swap the nk.nbf file.
You can also use the Update Utility from Wizard Love to change the Radio ROM.

i used the imei unlocker ..i think it could make bricks
i unlocked my phone 8125 (g4) w/ 2.21.0001 2.21.0001 after that
it would never come out of boot mode
from just that i think it somehow screwed me

No known recovery method for a mixed IPL/SPL in G4, it's a currently a brick.
I have a 8125 G4 sim unlocked w lokiwiz and a flashed WMSE5_rev4 with soft spl, well the problem that i have now is that i recentley tried to flash a new wm6 rom without hard spl ( yeah i know stupid) And now i am stuck on tri color boatloader screen no matter if i turn it off or not still goes back to the same thing. and yes the rom that i was flashing was g safe, i think were i messed up is not CID unlocking it with hard spl?when i tried to flash the new rom it went all the way to 100% and then gave error after that. NO activesync connection right now

Ok this is where im at i have tried to flash other roms, NOTHING. the phone is cycling between charging(when on charger) and bootloader every few seconds then i pull it off and nothing. i cant get hard spl to recognize the phone nor will activesync. i understand that i need to CID unlock the phone but i cant even get that far?
any suggestions? please walk me through it im not stupid but HTC's are a whole new ball game for me. im used to motorolas(by the way they suck!)

Get the original stock ROM for your Wizard version and flash it to get your OS back, then you can HardSPL or SoftSPL.
p.s. G4 Wizard does not have free solutions to actually "CID unlock". Either HardSPL and SoftSPL are hacks that tricks the RUU to allow flashing, you will still see your device as Locked in WST(Wizard Service Tool).
go to activesycn settings turn OFF allow usb connections and retry
I read it here in another thread after I returned My P4300 to cincinati bell in exactly the same condition you described.

I Have read allot of data, unbrick tutorials and upgrades suggestions...
but I Still haven't found what is the correct upgrade stages.
As far as I have read from the unbrick suggestions, I've reached to the following order:
1) Upgrading SPL (Enabling KITL)
2) Unlocking
3) Upgrading radio
4) Upgrading Windows
Can someone confirm or recommend/add other steps ?
During the upgrade steps, will the HERMES be usable ?
Unlock first THEN hard spl.
DONT mess with your radio if it works fine, as this is part that can COMPLETELY brick your phone(you may be able to use as a PDA but not gonna be a phone EVER again.)
Load an os(either a stock one OR one of the cooked roms our TOP chefs cook up.), most come as OS only, no radio.

It is useless for me, I cannot unlock the phone, due to different locking technique.
there are few posts about a locked Jasjam, with no olutions.
all the unlocking process went well, 3 times...
after the unlock process, when I insert the sim, it connects to the network, (indicated with 5 lines) and after about 5 seconds, it disconnect and says :
"The system detected an invalid SIM card"
and asks for unlock code.
now I have the following versions:
IPL 1.01
SPL 1.40.Olipro
Radio 1.16
any ideas ?
The Solution
To unlock Cellcom (Israel) JASJAM, As weird as it sounds, you should disable/deactivate/uninstall/whatever the EYRON Multi language support, which comes pre-installed.
I'll let the experts explain it.

Please note that I Only Unlock the SIM, and not SuperCID, the .BAT file of the unlocker says:
"CID Unlock: will make your phone SuperCID forever, don't check this if you are unsure. HardSPL will do same effect without loosing warranty."
Olipro ver 7(Hard SPL) This is considered the best for the layman, if you want to develope roms/ programs then you should use ver 9. However, ver. 9 does throw up an error after flashing. There is no problem and olipro said he'd get around to fixing it, BUT.......

I have upgraded to Olipro V7
When I Boot into bootloader, I see:
IPL-1.04
SPL-2.10.Olipro
But I Still not get any sign of KITL according to this threat (Step 5).
The Device is booting normally, as if I'm not holding any bottons.
How can I check if KITL enabled ?
Do I need KITL while using OLIPRO V7 ?

Did you read the Upgrade guide which is the 1st sticky on this page ?? If you didnt just do it
You should know 1st what device you have G3 or G4 (when you read the guide you will know)
Then you should hardspl your phone and then your ready to flash your device with the preferable rom you want to.
After the flash you should hard reset the phone and your done.
If you dont understand some staff like hardspl or hard reset .... just read the quide.

I have a G4,i downloaded NVID.EXE and ressurected it,now my phone appears as a qtek s200 now should i go on and try to upgrade to wm6 again or should it brick again?
You forgot to HARDSPL.
DO it first. After that flash the ROM again.
You will need to hard SPL before you upgrade! Make sure you use a G4 HardSPL or you will permanently brick your device.
But thats what i dont understand.How can i hardspl?I read the guides and its so complex.I got the G4 .nbf and used the G4 ROMUpdateUtility_NV_G4.exe and it did update.Now i am trying again the wm6.1

Use Prophet Tools (link in my signature). Go to the "HardSPL" Tab, select the radio button at the top called "G4" and then click "HardSPL".
hey, im new but have read many of the pages here. i have burnt roms to my first wiz (G3) unlocked it and everything went well. i came about a wiz (G4) last week wm5 bland rom locked and want to get wm6 on it so after my research i went to the IMEI unlock site and purchased the unlock for the g4
the unlock seemed to go well the first time but, it won't come out of boot loader mode
i ran hornet o.10 for g4 it runs and completed to 100 % and then on reboot it comes up with the boot screen again

SPL 2.21
i ran the tnt 1933 rom this morning and it completed 100% but still i have a boot screen
i know im missing something the battery power is fine .
i downloaded the stock rom for cingular but it won't load it has error "(294) INVALID VENDOR"
any suggestions ...

Are you sure SPL is 2.21 and not 2.21.0001 as IPL 2.21.0001 ?
Well,if its 2.21 only,the phone's got mixed Bootloaders (IPL/SPL),IPL 2.21.0001 are G4 and SPL 2.21 is G3,I don't know how you got it,but your phone is 'Bricked'

so it appears there could be a problem with the imei program,
as i said it never came out of boot mode after the unlock
and no errors were shown ...
i could get another and replaced the main board, this one is in new condition
except for the custom bricked rom . in the future i will not play with a g4
thanks for the diagnosis, no way to flash a new spl / ipl ... i did read that if
it booted you could get it back in some chance cases .. i am curious as to how this happened (others not doing this for a hobby could brick there only phone)

I recommend trying to flash back to original service provider ROM, then unlock again and try another. As long as you can get to bootloader (tri-color screen), there's still hope for your phone. When it's in this mode, and you plug in the USB, does it say USB at the bottom of the phone screen? If so, you are not dead yet.
Custom build wm6 roms like TNT etc... never Brick a G4 phone as no IPL/SPL is included in them,they are completely safe for G4 devices.What I can gather,it must be the wrong imei unlock code perhaps.
Well,like Myrddin Wyllt said,there's no harm in trying,so if it gets into Bootloaders,try to flash the official rom and if there's an error "wrong update utility" ,replace the RUU in the rom with this RUU and run this RUU,hope it might work.

yes sir i can talk to the phone from xp pro ..
USB does come up
so i can swap the RRU with the nbf file i need ...
no file name change required on the xxx.nbf file

ok, i swapped out every RUU i could find i get errors from
read file
invalid vendor id
wrong update utility
im too new to figure this out ..can you extract a ipl / spl from an
official rom and then flash that to get the boot loader's back in sync
i found the att 8125 ipl /spl nbf when i flash, it runs to 100% reboots but no changes
anyone have a link to flashing just the ipl / spl on the g4
i am most thankful for any advise ..
try running the hardspl on phone, it might just work to revert it back to a G4 spl.

Also I paid to the IMEI Check and I had to change the plate because the PDA died as yours. E had not returned to the money of the IMEI Check only reply to me was that it had to change of plate ..... It had the unblocked CID?
