Why do I need to flash my ROM? - G4

Okay, so I tried to flash my ROM and bricked my phone so Tmobile sent me another one. My question is.....DO I need to customize my ROM and if I do, how do I choose the right one for me? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Deidre

If you're satisfied with the performance and features of your phone, there's no need to flash your ROM. If not, you can perform upgrades but should take care to follow the detailed instructions available on this forum.
Cheers!

(reg) thread for ppl who needs to flash back to stock roms for warranty

hello,
I believe that this is a pertinent issue which most of us will be interested in. i have seen many ppl having issues trying to flash back to the original rom. What should we do if we need to flash back to the original rom for warranty purposes? Should we just run the official rom file from HTC? or is there some way to uninstall SPL first?
hence, i hope that the pros in XDA willl be able to come up with a step by step tutorial for these people!
I am not a pro myself so i would not be able to come up with a specific step by step tutorial.

Question about flashing roms?

Hi ive tried to do alot of research as to how to flash roms and so im not getting a clear image from anyone thats posting things. Again im new to galaxy s2 got it bout 2 days ago and id like to be a flash junkie again from my x10 thaats how i was what i want to find out from anyone that can assist me and explain step by step how to flash roms on my device. my sgs2 is from bell and its kg2 with 2.3.3 and i see on forums of 2.3.5. so id like to know if im able to flash any roms on my phone and how to flash and things it doesn't seem straight foward as how xperia x10 was lol sorry for being a noob. once i get my answers go ahead mods or admins to closing my thread. thank you
You can check out this thread for a step by step guide for installing 2.3.5. You can also find all the firmware's leaked/official that you can flash here. The only thing I would advice is for you to read up as much as you can and familiarize yourself with Odin, if you are not already. Also when flashing roms it's safest if you don't include the .pit file. If you ever want to flash back to the stock bell rom, you can find it here. Good luck and happy flashing

[Q] Help me please... regarding my Unserviced Verizon Fascinate

Hi Guys, can you please help me updating my Samsung Fascinate Verizon phone, it's currently running @

Why can't you just use droidstyles guide on here. I don't think you need anyone to walk you through it step by step when he has already done that .
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
and dont forget to look at jawmans noob glossary aswell.
Are you rooted?
@droidstyle i saw your post. so neat. i was about to try it, but im not sure which one should i do first, since your instruction is like for those who have 2.2 or froyo, i only have 2.1(eclair), i want to get atleast froyo for now, or maybe ginger bread but i dont know which one should i use first?
i saw your psot in this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238070
please response..
You can use any of sections 1,2,3, or 4 as it doesn't matter what you start with but rather what you want to end up with. For example, if you want to end up on Ice Cream Sandwich (newest OS) use section4. If you want EH03 Touchwiz Gingerbread (last version officially release by Samsung) then use section 2.
Again, use the section that says the ROM you want your phone to run. They aren't meant to be followed in sequence. Just choose the section that names the ROM you want to end up on.
Follow the steps word for word. I have a feeling English may be your second language, though you do speak it very well. This guide puts the steps in very simple terms. If you don't understand you probably should seek a guide in your native language or someone who can translate for you.
Best of luck.
step 5 actually worked fine, i tried the froyo 1. thanks droidstyle
i actually want to ask some follow up question..
Does android phone have adobe flash player, cant find it in store, but it is a required file to run some applications.
Also i want to ask your honest opinion guys, which among this software should i use? which is stable have long battery life and good for games. as of right now im using the froyo that can be found in Section 5.
Last question, is there a way to download apps, for free instead, i mean full version for free, cause i tried using my CC and it's not working wonder why.. its always declined.
Thanks so much anyway for all the answers i got from you guys. appreciate it so much.. kindly answer my other questions please Thankyou so much
-- Also i want to ask, cause i really can't understand the advantage of having the phone rooted or what. kindly please tell me the advantage please if you have time.. appreciate it so much!!! rock on!!

You should create a nandroid backup as soon as you finish a good enough config as a base line to return to.

Try to google for "blackmart", it'll let you install anything even things which should never be installed hence the need for nandroid backup.

A rooted phone let you have more options to decide what you want to do to your phone. For example Droidwall only works on rooted phone, the firewall will let you block all apps which wanted net access for ads which nearly all of them do and bogged down your data bandwidth if too many of them were installed.

That's one of multiple threads here asking this question.

What should my first Custom ROM be???

So, Im looking for some help here.
I am using the X821 version Le Max 2, and I have just recently rooted successfully. I wanted to ask for some suggestions with what custom ROM should I try out first? I suppose I am looking for a very stable ROM with theming to black capabilities. Other than that, I am open to anything, but I do need some help from some of you more seasoned or veterans in this smartphone tech game... Please leave me with some comments or suggestions for my first custom ROM to install, maybe some pros and cons or ROM specific issues if any. Thanks so much for all of your help with this question guys.

You can find all the available ROM for this device in the development section. Each one has a short introduction about what the package contains and found bugs. Nobody can really tell which one should be on your phone, It completely depends on your preferences. You need to decide what's more important to you, then make the choice. E.G. If customization is a must have feature, You might wanna go for the CM based ROMs like ResurrectionRemix, Mokee.
