CityID - Displays City, State of incoming calls.. - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

http://www.cequint.com/city.html
Has anyone been able to get this to work w/ their hermes? i've heard of a few for WM5..but im using wm6. My problem is that when a call is coming in, the cityID screen is the backround, im assuming showing me what I want to see, but the stock "incoming call" screen keeps showing up, which is covering what i would be seeing from cityID..hmm any help?

Has there been any development with this on the Hermes? I used to try it on the Palm Treo 750 and my gripe with this application is that the data connection cannot reconnect and I would either have to uninstall CityID or soft reset to re-connect to the internet, which was very frustrating. Was wondering if anyone has tried it with Windows Mobile 6, and specifically with the Black Satin ROM.

I need CityID cab file
Can any body email me the CityID cab file to my email id [email protected]

Voicemail and Resco Keyboard Problems..

On my T-Mobile Ameo I have Resco Keyboard installed. Naturally I checked on the handset to see if there was a update available for it and there was. But when I tried to install the update it said 'Installation was unsuccesfull'. The problem I have now is that whenever I restart my Ameo it tries to install the keyboard but fails every time. Is there a way I can stop this from happening?
I received a voicemail message on my Ameo last week, I listened to the message and deleted it, but on the Ameo the voicemail notification will not go away. I even put my sim card into another handset and did not receive the voicemail message. So it seems the notification is stuck somewhere on my device. Any ideas how to get rid of this?? and for some reason I am not able to access any of my messages on the device, email mms sms.....
Thanks for any help you can provide.

WM6 VoIP

I have asked around before about getting the WM6 VoIP on this bad boy, and no one seems interested. The standard Cab files will not work, and it has been speculated this is because of some missing certificate files.
I know there are few out there with other devices that have the 6800 as well, and we can compare the certificate files between the two devices to see if we can get this working.
Certificate bypass...
Have you tried "unlocking" the certificate requirements through the registry?
The settings are available on the HTC WIKI here: http://www.htcwiki.com/page/P4000+Telus?t=anon and will allow programs/cabs to be installed regardless of certificate authentication. Bear in mind, this is NOT a method of unlocking the phone for another network, simply a means to dismiss certificate requirements for program installation.
I'm not interested in the VOIP per se, but if the certificate is the problem, this might be a viable solution... I hope it helps.
Yes I have unlocked the phone. As said its only sepeculated its a certificate issue. After installing the WM6 Voip cab file, all files that are recommended you check for, are there, but the phone does not give you the option to select internet calling.
I have tried it too cannot get the today plugin to show....
internet calling just doesn't show up

all files installed, internet calling checked in today's settings, but doesn't appear on today's screen.
does anyone knows what's wrong with ppc6800?
Does anyone have another WM6 device that they have the VoIP Client working on. I think the key maybe a missing Registery setting, but dont have another device to compare too.
Look in this key:
\registry\HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting\
I am guessing for something along the lines of: HiddenInternetPhone or HiddenVoip with a value of 0.
No "Internet Calling" on HTC P4000 (Telus)
I have the same problem. I installed WM6VoIP.CAB and SetupVoIP_v0.3.CAB, and setup access to the voip provider sip server (voipbuster.com). I was logged into voipbuster on my laptop, and as soon as I clicked ok from the "Setup VOIP" page, I received a message on my laptop indicating that I've been logged out of voipbuster because I have logged in from another computer. So, this means that Internet Calling is indeed working (or at least connected to the voip sip server), but just doesn't show up on the Today screen. I can see the "Internet Calling" option in Settings > Today > Items page, but "Internet Calling" does not appear in the Today page. It may be hidden or missing due to a registry key as the previous poster suggests. I have no idea what that key would be, but if anybody could look and see if you can find anything that would ShowInternetCalling, HideInternetCalling, or something similar in the registry, that would be much appreciated. Thanks.
VOIP works with no Internet Calling on Today Screen
I have an HTC P4000 (Titan, PPC6800) on the Telus network. And by installing WM6VoIP.CAB and SetupVoIP_v0.3.CAB, I was able to go into the SetupVoIP app and on the last tap, set it to "Whenver Available." This causes VOIP to become active if there is a WiFi connection. Nothing shows up on the Today Screen, but in the Phone screen, TELUS changes to VOIP (or whatever you name the SIP connection). After that, all calls are being routed through the voip provider.
The volume of the rear speaker (and earpiece when connected) is rather low, but definitely audible. That's the last piece of the puzzle I have to figure out.
Now Working, just a few bugs
Ok I’ve got the WM6 sip client working on my phone (telus-p4000) the same way with all the same problems as sabrex does. I’ve tried many voip clients on this phone with the same speaker problem, I’ve read some where that the HTC api doesn’t reference how to access the earpiece speaker on the p4000. Believe me these other voip clients work on almost every phone with proper speaker output, it’s just the p4000 that routes the sound to the rear speaker. So what it looks like is the sip extension to the phone software is trying to use the default wm6 routing path there by pushing all the audio to the rear speaker instead of the earpiece. Now a work around like sabrex said is to use the corded external earpiece. I haven’t been able to get any Bluetooth headsets to work on any of the other voip clients but maybe someone will have better luck with the wm6 client. I don’t know much about sound routing in wm6 but any help with a direction to look in would be appreciated, but I think HTC will be the only ones capable of helping with this.

Has anyone been able to get the Today screen plugin to work with the P4000?
Hi All
Can anyone tell me where i can get hold of SetupVoIP_v0.3.CAB ?? Many Thanks!!
Where to get SetupVoIP
Found it here:

This with WM6VoIP.CAB got it working on my Bell HTC-6800 (HTC Mogul / Titan). It's a user-contrib setup program that handles files and registry settings. Doesn't show on today screen, but it does redirect my phone to SIP when WiFi is available.
I've heard mention of a newer WM6VoIP.CAB, but I can't find it. The setup I have working puts audio through the back speaker, and from what I've read will be prone to very quiet audio.
Can you tell me how to di it from scratch? New Phone
i just got my Bell HTC-6800
Do I need to unlock it some how for this to work?
I have tried installing WM6VoIP.CAB and using SetupVoIP_v0.3.CAB to no avail.
Please post details of "no avail". How far did you get, any error messages?
Did you configure SIP using SetupVoIP?
- use Start / Programs / Setup VoIP?
- docs / support here
- did you set options to "whenever available", or "only if cell is not available"?
Which SIP provider are you using?
Are you using 802.11? Browser works?
When you view the phone screen, does the top left show VoIP (vs Bell Mobility)?
The Today screen doesn't work on my 6800, and I don't know how to solve it. I can place and receive calls, but the received audio is very quiet and comes through the handsfree (back) speaker. Headset is also very quiet (both wired and bluetooth). But when I'm at our remote mining areas I can place and receive calls.
Are you experienced with VoIP in general, and SIP in particular?
The whole story is in this very long thread:

thanks for all the info here guys, i was able to get it working today on a bell 6800. im disappointed in the sound and features though. i have a nokia E70 and i use it's built in sip client which works will all the features of my asterisk PBX. i hope that this software will continue to improve.
Hi folks,
anyone managed to fix the audio problem on Titan ( P4000)
I get audio from the back speaher only
Thanks
back speaker audio
this is what i heard about the problem
Apparently HTC does not use standard Windows Mobile Audio paths on their devices as opposed to some of the other device manufactures.
This is word for word from HTC:
“It works on most other Windows Mobile devices because they more than likely use Microsoft standard audio path controls, HTC uses their own software architecture which is why it doesn't perform the same.”
Well, that sucks ...
They supply 80% of PDA phones to the market
and there is no work around it ?
My question, why is the sound quiet? Any other application that would put sound out would be normal volume. Why is the VoIP quiet then??
AGEphone Mobile 2 Speakerphone Edition does support the internal speaker on some select models (more to follow!) as of now!

Missing SMS messages?

Hi. I am asking this question for my partner who has an iMate Smartflip and she always roasts me for not sending here texts when I know I have. (I have a TyTnII with delivery noti on).
It appears she sends an SMS to me and I answer immediately, her Smartfilp does not pick it up but if she receives one 'out of the blue' it's OK. This is also very hit and miss in the way it fails.
Just wondering if anyone else has seen this. Checked the Forum and can't seem to see anything.
Cheers.
BTW, tried the obvious and put the SIM card in a different phone and it works fine....
Doesn't she use any data connection (GPRS)? The SMS should be delivered even when are connected but I have experienced delays of messages (I recieved SMS's few hours after the sending even my phone was turned on).
No GPRS in use as it's a PAYG SIM. Just the standard service center number.
It's really strange, the messages are not delayed, just don't appear on the phone even if I send them and get back a delivery notification as if its getting certain data it can't handle.
It's probably been fixed in a HTC firmware update but you know how iMate are slow to follow...
You can install any firmware you want to. If it's not a problem for you/her I hope update (which wipe out all user data as well) helps you. The newest firmware from Cingular would be probably the best one. (I dont have phone from Cingular but Im using their fw so it must be the same with iMate)

How to block calls while on EVDO?

Hey guys, I put this over in the regular titan forums, but I wasn't sure where it belonged.
I am wondering if there is any way to send all incoming calls to voicemail when I am using PDAnet to get online. I know there is a PDAnet setting to "allow calls when connected" but even if I uncheck this, calls still come through and discconect my internet.
The reason I'm posting this here is because if something specific to PDAnet isn't available, or possible, is there anything that I can do to the phone to not have incoming calls disconnect my internet connection? I had a Motorola Q for a little while, and there is a "bug" that actually does this automatically (sends call to voicemail while on EVDO). It was a setting in the DEBUG menu, in the field test option, called DDTM, and it was by default on (I think), and so people had to change that to off (could be switched) to allow incoming calls. It was perfect for me though. Now, I think I tried looking for a DDTM setting in the mogul and I had found it a while back, but I dont think it did anything with regard to my situation. So my questions are:
Is there anything with PDAnet that I can do besides the setting I talked about? Registry or something...?
If nothing with PDAnet, then does anyone know how to change the DDTM setting on a mogul? I got into the DEBUG menu (##33284#) and I didnt find any DDTM setting there.
Besides the DDTM setting (since it hasn't worked for me in the past) is there any other method you guys can think of that will do what I want?
Thanks!!
Call Filter
Yes there is There is a program called, Call Filter. you should be able to google it an find it.
SPB Phone Suite can also filter calls.
My understanding of call filter programs is that they screen the calls once they come to the phone and then prevent the phone from ringing. I would imagine this would still disconnect my internet services. I messed around a little with SPB phone suite, and I have nexvisions rom, which comes with Call SMS blocker (it has a call filter option). With SPB phone suite with the filter enabled, I couldn't even connect via PDAnet, it gave me an error 619 or something. With the Call SMS blocker, the program didn't block my incoming call at all, so that's more the program's fault. But am I mistaken in thinking that a call filter program would not work for my needs?
You don't need those programs to do it. Go to phone setting > Mode of Operation > change to EVDO only. This will automatically block all incoming/outgoing calls.
PS you might have to edit your registry if Mode of operation doesnt show.
I believe DCD's clean rom has it on his rom.

Yes it does.
That does seem to work for my last option. But I cant receive any calls at all when in this mode, so I guess I would have to manually change this each time . Is there any way this entry can be automatically changed somehow with a script or a registry change? Also, this wouldn't work in areas without EVDO right? Since I'm disabling 1x, it would seem like it. So no software solution for this eh? Wierd how the glitch with the Q was perfect for me...
You are stuck with the manual fix tbh.

False Positive Voicemail on ATT

I'm using the TG01 and I keep getting a false positive voicemail indicator on the Titanium Home Screen. Calling and leaving a voicemail and deleting it does not work, calling ATT to have my voicemail reset does not correct the problem.
When you call into the VM ATT service from the phone to check your messages, it sends a VM control SMS to the phone, indicating that it is not being properly processed. Has anyone else seen this, or know of a problem besides a master reset - which is annoying b.c. this is the second time this has occured in three weeks.
Thanks!
Search for the tool HushSMS. I Had the same problem and did resolve it with HushSMS.
Isn't this the opposite of what we want to occur though? We are trying to hide network messages from the device not from those we send to.
No, with HushSMS it's possible to send a message to your own phone, that changes the SIM Setting and deletes the voicemails that are not there but which WM shows you.
Thanks that worked!
You're welcome
Although...on second thought - this makes it dissapear but does not prevent it from occuring again - was this the same result for you?
No, it occured never again.
Did it occur again at your phone?
Yeah it occurs again everytime I get a VM, bummer. What type of SMS did you send with Hush SMS?
Is there a way to officially set up ATT VM on an unlocked phone that I'm not following correctly?
The rom update Toshiba released recently did not correct this either as I had hoped. Any thoughts as to why these control SMS and MWI don't process correctly?
Removing the indicator with a Ping0 message in HushSMS is a workaround to parse the indicator but does not prevent it from occuring agian.
Anyone know how to fix this? Getting really irritating honestly.
Same here...
I am on Virgin mobile in the UK and I have the same problem, I got a voicemail this morning and I have deleted the voicemail but it still shows on my phone.
I have rebooted and its still the same
I have to use HUSH SMS to clear my voicemail indicator.
For me it's actually a problem on my sim card. After a flash there is this residual text message that says i have a voicemail. It's wierd.
Anyway, it's a MWI Disable command with HUSH SMS
Click Send MWI, Voice, Deactivate.
Also, you can mess with your windows mobile enabled friends by sending an enable
