I have installed HTC X-Button on my Atom Life but the software does not work. What is the problem?
Seems to work quite well with Atom.
You shouldn't be. Other HTC softwares can work on this machine. I just wonder why not X-Button and if the experts in the forum can enlighten me.
why not just use o2 menu? that is a application i must install in even for htc devices
htc x button is buggy. sometimes it works, sometimes it won't. even for htc device as well.
Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=306794&highlight=hbutton. This wonderful piece of app does much more than HTC - X Button.
HTX X button
Who needs this when you have better freeware options.
Download from freewareppc st following link pbar, an excellent close button application

Working fine on my WM6 Xda Atom Life

Hi , I would like to know if there is a way to close the WM apps instead of minimizing , apart from 'Running Programs' .
Yep there is the HTC-X-button application available.
Try it out!
X-Button is the only way to go
Agree; HTC X-Button is so handy that many of the Chef's are including it in their cooked ROM's. Highly recommended You can find it HERE, in the FTP files section of the WIKI
I use HTC X-Button all the time. Could't live without it! Great little program manager!
HTC X-Button or you can try Magic Button.. but the HTC X-Button is much better imo
i use spb pocket plus.. comes with application that is the same as the X button..
X-Button gets my vote.

Hi guys, I want the simpler possible wm6 rom (so that I have lots of free memory) with a2dp support, and of course without charging problems.
What do you suggest?
(I liked the touch PDAViet rom but, the windows live doesn't work alright and 16 mb's of free memory are just not enough)
hi...
i support this request.
an clean wm6 just the default app's and tochflo
all other stuff like
HTC Home
HTC Audiomanager
HTC Cube
HTC CommManager
...
Total Commander
could be installed with cab's.

TNT V5 Offical has none of these installed and is probable the cleanest rom you will find for prophet at the moment
... and it run's smooth and fast on my neo
---
but it could be cleaner...
1-calc lite, Task Manager, SmatsKey, WinXplore, Registry Editor, EventCountdown...
are some of the app's that could be installed as cab if wanted.
Cheers,
is there a way to install htc home to tnt5 official?

@bl4ckb1rd

use the search tab, you will find it you will find many other interesting things too.
japp thats what I already did before i asked. i even used this htc home
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=322439
but all i've tested, was ending in slowing my prophet extremly down. took about 17 seconds to open windows folder.... before installation of htc home it was about 2-3 seconds. just want to know which would be the right one. i am familar to the search tab but there are so many different cabs and most of them i tried, made problems.

Did it solve the "slow-down" problem? I am suffering same thing with TNT5 + HTC Home plugin. In my opinion, TNT 5 is fast and stable,... but can not help with TNT5 + HTC Home....
Your feedback would be appreciated...
Jarel
i did not tested wizard htc home (linked from bl4ckb1rd) but the slow down is, because the installed files of homeplug are all planted to windows dir (over 100 i guess).
i left htc home uninstalled and found samsung clock and my spb phone suite updated best for me.
i saw that the tnt5 rom has upx compressed exe files. (powerpoint uncompressed 2.59mb, compressed <1mb - nice!) i like that!
I have found the following applications from teh Touch Duo working on the Charmer with TouchFLO Charmer ROM WM6 ver. 2.1 FINAL by vlodeck
(Credits for this go to the original thread on Elf board http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=336587)
HTC Touch Camera Album VERY Cool, althoguh a bit slow on my Charmer:

or see the following link for video, screenshots and download

HTC Action Screen, Useful touch app to start simple tasks such as new email, new SMS etc. (note has to be installed on main memory to have the icons working)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=56056&d=1193643896
or see teh following link for screenies and download
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-htc-action.html
HTC Touch Keyboard and Touchpad
a replacement for the PocketCM Keyboard, both keyboard and touchpad work great and look neat.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=56606&d=1194027124
HTC new Task Manager (goodby pocket plus)
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-htc-task-manager-v2-0.html
I have not tried to instal the HTC Touch Random Access which is a replacement for the contacts and alternative to PocketCM Contact as i believe this is still more powerful thanks to the management of SMS and conversation fully integrated with teh contact application, and also becaseu nobody has made a .CAB yet and to be honest i cannot be bother doing one nor do the manual install as i do not want to do a manual unistall in case i ma not happy with it.
I hope you will enjoy those apps, I did even if I had to go back and overclock my Charmer a bit to bring back the execution speed to an acceptable level.
Taskmanager works but the option panel for some reason doesn't open up.
Here is a comprehnsive list of all the latest Touch application released extracted fromt eh latest ELF ROM.
A lot of them work perfectly on our charmers with the fantastic ThoucFlo ROM Vlodlek has cooked for us.

Thats a good thread, I'll link it in the touchflo post.
Good keyboard!!!
But Please help me make it in Russian simbol.
is it only my device or does the HTC camera album only browse the pics ON the device memory and not the ones on the storage card?
Already solved:

Thanks for writing app.
I tried it on my e-ten x800. It worked. But the interface is still in the up-left quarter of my VGA screen. Only the phones display in full screen. Is there any configuration I need to set so the control interface can be in full screen mode?
Thanks
Yes, same for me with my X800. What to do?
hi, same thing happened to me with my eten x800... any setting to do it?
Another x800 owner here, and been looking for (HTC) VGA apps for quite some time.
Unfortunatly almost only HTC apps fail to run smoothly because they fixed the location of stuff by coordinates rather than it gets scaled I'm told.
What does work is HTC Backupm which is quite useless to me.
I would love to see a VGA compatibe version of the Album, CommManager, 3G Dialer and random access.
Guess we got to wait till HTC releases VGA devices which won't be for quite some months.

or you can do some quick xml editing of the x , y coordinate system to get it how you like. dont for get to go into\windows and delete "ha_skin_cache_l.dat" and/or "ha_skin_cache_p.dat"
as the name suggest its the cache file for those xml files and need to be deleted every time you update the xml files. if you don't see the dat files there then you should be ok.

OK - so this is an app that spmeone has got working in VGA on the Athena which is an HTC VGA device and you're complaining that it doesn't work on your x800 and that HTC won't release VGA devices for some months?
We have VGA devices and nice people who get things working for us and post them in HTC Athena specific forums - don't moan that they don't work on your poxy Etens!
Once installed in my X7500 (spanish oficial WM5 ROM) the program as to reset my PDA. So I did it. Then I launch the program and said something about missing certificate or part.
Not working at all. So I uninstall it.

Wow, that's quite an attack on us e-ten users.
HTC hasn't released any regular candystaick like devices, just some sub-notebook alike devices.
And these devices don't contain those apps.
As it's hard to find any vga working apps you naturally see us x800/m800/x500+ users all over the universal and athena forums, so get used to it.
As it's now HTC is pretty much falling behind the competition, they focused to much on the mid-market and haven't released a power-user candybar for quite some time, and that's my reason for switching to e-ten for the past year now, and my x800 should last another year.
If you ask me, atm E-ten and some other brands do have the better devices out there than HTC.
The only thing HTC is really good at, and no-one can deny is coding real nice apps, on my late x500 I only had freeware and HTC apps running.
It was not meant as an attack on eten users, just on them moaning that something that someone has got working on the Athena and posted in the Athena forum doesn't work on the Etens.
This is a forum for Athena users - No problem with others using the apps designed for Athenas but if you want to moan do it in an Eten forum not the Athena one!
Hi,
The link doesnt work.
Anyone seen ver. for HTC touch dual? (not sure if it's VGA one).
Thnx

Didn't work on my Sprint Touch Pro. It looked like small like QVGA. And also different lettering...
I was always wonder about why we can't use
HTC application On TG01
I fall to run all the HTC application on my TG01
HTC album
HTC youtube
HTC calculator
HTC camera
HTC Task Manager
HTC dialer
HTC MP3 trimmer
only Sense 2.1 and 2.5 was running(not 100%)
may be we need some HTC driver or special framework to run
is there any one who knows clue about this?
I think that the main problem is the G-Sensor. We need someone able to develope a soft to "translate" the information from our sensor in codes that HTC soft can recognize.
And that's what we expect from this great site!
Come on!
it can handle the xperia x2 task manager , looks good and works well
