When I pause the movie and play again.
The movie is getting very lag.
But if I enter preference setting to set the audio page and back to player.
The movie is good again.
WHY.......
I need help...
Not alot of info to go on there dude, which WM version are you running this on?
One thing you could do is download a tweak app such as HTCustom by shadowmite.....and increase the memory cache levels....this has been known to help with video playback on certain devices.........also go into the advanced settings in coreplayer and enable microdrive mode....run the video from the microdrive and see if it helps.
Try the microdrive tweak first.
The OS is WM6
If I check the Microdrive mode.
Should I change the "Microdrive start at"?
Now is 1472 KB.
I have the same problem with core player...but all modification with cache or microdrive settings doesn't help. I think it is a bug in the audiostream, because when i change the audio settings the movie runs well...but when i hit pause and then start again the movie is laggy

I'm having the same problem playing back basic MP3 files, audio only. Very weird.
**Edit, my problem seems to only be on 48 kbit/s MP3 files, higher bitrate play without issues. Anyone seen this?
Same problems here - the following settings solved my problems:
menu-tools-preferences-select page-buffering-buffer size = 24000KB
menu-tools-preferences-select page-video-video output=raw frameBuffer
In mine I find out that if you go to full screen clicking in the screen then goes to lag thing but if you click the tiny icon in the right-top of the screen then goes to full screen without a problem.
This is happening to me but only with video and only in some videos not all of them.
My fight with Coreplayer is more on video being frozen when the screen contents changes very quickly. For sample on the intro of SouthPark when the hands quickly makes the characters with papper pieces. That scene is very quick and I got the image frozen sometines. I'm playing around with the buffering options but the problem remains.
Best Regards,
mahjong
P.S.: nrm your setting doesn't solve the problems to me. I tried with Direct Draw, ATI, Raw and many other without success. And I got my buffer to 40000 and 100%.
I'm sorry my suggested settings did not fix your problems. There is a vast world of potential settings - both in Coreplayer and registery.
I am running Coreplayer from the Microdrive but the movie is on my storrage card.
Is the SouthPark video short enough to post somewhere for me to try?
I'm using it the same way... program stored at microdrive and movie stored at miniSD.
Unfortunelly is a complete SouthPark chapter so is big (the one banned because "attack" scienciology). Anyway I'll keep on playing with the settings.
Thank you,
mahjong

I'm having the same problem with sections of The Daily Show, usually when returning from a commercial break and the logo flashes across the screen it just stops dead. Very very frustrating, please share if you find a way to resolve this problem.
I will. But looks a matter of playing with settings on memory, buffers, and video configuration.
Something I test is the difference on having the movie in the Microdrive or miniSD. Looks the same to me... and it's not strange since I'm using a buffer size of 40000 KB with a preload at underrun of 100% what as far as I know means that Coreplayer need to load 40000 KB (100%) of the movie into the memory before starting it.
That means (from my point of view) that the problem relays in the procedure of taking images from the memory and not from the SD or microdrive.
I'll keep on testing. And I need to compare those problems with TCPMP.
My problem with TCPMP is that damage the notification queue every single time I install or run the program.
Best regards,
mahjong

Hello and good afternoon everyone,
Not sure if I am bieng a total speng here or if I actually have something.
I have now updated my UK ameo to WM6.
I reintalled Core player (legal paid for in my name ) and TCMPwith all the plugins I had.
Now for some reason when I have the imageon video driver selected and I play movie I get a screen filled with comlpete static fuzz instead of my nice sucking lady (or what ever other movie I play )
I am sure I experienced this before on WM 5 but it sorted its self out.....
Has anyone else experienced this with WM6?
Any work around to get playback sorted??
Thanks

Same problem here....
ATI have refused to give the Imageon specs to Coreplayer. In Coreplayer you can go to menu/tools/preferences/video and select raw framebuffer. That setting works fine. I can only imagine that in TCMP it would be the same setting.
This works for me
This is a little crude, but for CorePlayer, go to Menu>Tools>Preferences>Subject Page>Audio. Then the change the Stereo mode from "Stereo" to "Stereo swapped" and back to "Stereo". Click OK and play the movie.
The movie will play fine.
Good luck!
To update my answer
I located a much better solution in the forum - change the buffer to 24,000 KB. This produces perfect results.
This is my YouTube search/player application. Bit like the latest CorePlayer.
It allows you to search for videos in a nice friendly Pocket PC 2003 and greater app and then stream the full FLV video (not miniscule MPEG4 versions) within its own player.
This app can also download the FLV videos for offline use and also then extract the soundtrack to an MP3 file.
The app is written in a mixture of .net and C so you need the .net runtime, v2 or v3.5:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...49-3c6b-42f1-9fd9-0041345b3385&displaylang=en
The video player overlay is hacked out of TCPMP and the FLV part is based on FFMPEG.

Things planned: Support for YouTube logons, video uploads, user favorites and better caching/buffering.
Things not planned: Other video sites.
Known issues: Square mode not quite right. Other character sets (Chinese etc.) don't work apparently. Close button sometimes takes a few pushes.
Everybody should note that this application will eat bandwidth, no consideration has been made for data consumed, so Wifi/ActiveSync or unlimited 3g only, be prepared for a big data bill otherwise. Won't work well on GPRS anyway as FLV vids are quite sizeable.
Download Latest Version (v1.0.0.11) from here
Comments / suggestions welcome.
Great! I'll give it a go.

WOW! GReat App!
May I make a request? Anyway you can make the "skin" a black color by any chance? My entire phone is customized to be in a dark tone and the white just looks very out of whack. Thank you very much for such a great app! Keep it up!
Great!!! I can't play with Coreplayer on my prophet, but this rocks! Wheel done, man. Thanks

What can i say .....
Finaly i can see the real thing
Your the best.
It just shuts down as soon as it buffers the video for me. It searches just fine and all, but right after buffering it closes itself. Tried a soft reset, but no change.
On a side note, would this be able to function as a stand alone FLV player? So that we could download FLV clips off the web, save them on the storage card and watch them later? I've tried the TCPMP w/ flash plugin solution but it never works for me.
Very nice.
Can I make a few suggestions - Can the buttons be made larger and more finger-friendly, can the soft keys either be used for something or left out, and I dont think the d-pad does anything when the video is playing.
Also can the buttons be made rounder instead of square.
Surur
Great work. I would definitely like to see a Save Video function too though...

Works well but one thing i've noticed is that when I search it doesn't give me that many options. Like i type in "Ric Flair" and it only gives me 4 videos to choose from. Obviously there are alot more than that, unless im doing something wrong.
Please upload to the forum... only 600Kb
bugs?
awesome program! a few things though, i'm running this on a sprint mogul, no2chem 2.0 ROM, when i play the video in landscape mode the video starts towards the bottom of the screen and blocks the 'stop/full/cancel' buttons, i have to close the video by just poking in the general direction of where i THINK the stop button is...
also another suggestion, perhaps an option for more search results, right now i'm pulling only 4 or so and i would like to be able to get every video that's available.
besides that, this is an awesome program, thank you!!!

Still early version, literally just it going today!
Landscape mode and VGA are next on the list for testing and fixing.
Currently it is set to return only 5 results, just to make it quick! Will include some config options in the next few versions to change this.
Download function - noted, might also be able to include FLV to other format conversion.
Skins and finger friendly buttons etc. again noted but low on the priority list.

Hi,
i converted a few movies with h264/512kbits/25frames. The movie plays a few seconds smooth, than it dropps a few frames... How comes?
Does this depend on the read access speed of my sdhc card? Its class 6.
The same problem playing podcast e.g. rtl akuell, best of youtube.
Michael
Mine is working great with vids.
I have SILICON POWER 8GB MicroSD.
Maybe it comes from the way they are converted.
Try doubleTwist. It's working great with my Hero.
I used EncodeHD. It's a fantastic program converts about anything to anything. Including a recent update to have a conversion profile of "T-Mobile G1".
That has same screen size and res and G2 so works like a dream
The following both worked fine for me:
1) Encode with http://handbrake.fr with the ipod/iphone preset.
2) Download video from http://video.google.com via "Download video - iPod/PSP"
I tested a bit with further h264 options, and B-frames are definitely not supported (just like iphones/ipods). Size-wise, I find that with all h264 tricks turned on, one hour of full resolution TV at pretty good quality ends up being 300-400MB. Restricting to h264 playable on the iphone/Hero and resizing to 480 pixels wide, the file ends up 150-200MB at similar quality.
It is not a problem with the converting.
I tried handbrake, videora, TMPGEnc etc.. all programs I use for my iphone.
I also tried less resolution, less frames, 512 kbs.. etc.
The problem is the same with regular video podcast.. in 320*240...
It looks like the video stutters for a small moment.
Maybe my phone is not o.k.?

More likely the problem is with the mini SD card, I think. I used the 2GB card that came with the Hero, which is class 4 I think. Maybe try a different card or test your card on a different computer.
Since July I have an annoying problem with playing a video which was made by camera in VGA.
It freezes every 1 - 2 seconds.
I have problems only with this type of video.
Which packages do I have to replace?
Or do I have to do something else in my kitchen?
P.S. Tried 2.14 - 3.14 Drivers.
Does anyone know, how to solve this problem?
Please, HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TCPMP (The Core Pocket Media Player) is a free alternative. This is where CorePlayer came from. It plays any format with the best results, it can even display subtitles. It will make the best use of your hardware. Assuming you have an HD2, it will play DVD Rip movies without any problems, just as you get them on your computer.
I want to get rid of freezes for default (HTC) player, because I want my HD2 work better with default soft.
You could try installing leo cpu speed and disable speed scaling, that may help.
Sounds like an issue reading from the sd card though, it may be worth backing up your files and formatting the card.
Did you change roms recently, i.e. around July 1st?
I made the last my rom yesterday.
And this issue have all my users.
Doesn't anyone know how to solve my problem?
If you could upload a sample captured video, then somebody can try in their mobile and then you identify its an issue with player or recording format, bitrate etc.
Not an unusual problem by the looks of it but sooooo annoying and soooo many options to try and fix the problem.
(edit - just to clarify, its more of a skidding than a skipping - the sound/rhythm is stretched and short of shudders like when a CPU is under-load with other apps running, but I've currently got over 100MB at idle.)
I've read the following forum which has so many options in it and a lot of good info so I'm going to slowly work through a few of the options with my Xperia and see what might solve the skipping issue.
http://androidforums.com/incredible-support-troubleshooting/72913-music-player-skipping-cause.html
I initially started using the stock player that came with the Neo and noticed it skipping every now and then but then yesterday when coming home from a music festival with a few new albums it came to time to STOP the skipping.
I always copy files from original CD's at the highest quality and then drag and drop them directly into the folder on the SD card to cut out any other application adding its musical interpretation into the tracks with missed data and timing etc (this is a practice I started years ago so hopefully the tracks are the best they can be)
So from here I start fiddling with the device......
1) I noticed that I dont get any skipping when using ES File Explorer to play the files but the problem ES File explorer is that it doesn't appear to have a shortcut directly to its media player and I dont want to have to go hunting for files EVERY time I want to play music.
2) So now I've started Meridian just as a test and it definately made an improvement = less skipping but still some
3) So I"ve moved Meridian to System App as suggested in the Forum and I'm running the player and keeping a close ear on it to see if it skips.
If it does the next step will be to start using "AnTuTu CPU Master Free" and setting it to start from boot and set it to raise the minimum processor level to around 400 MHz
If anybody who actually knows about this stuff has any ideas I'd be interested in hearing them.
I dont know why EX file explorer plays the files better than anything else I've tried - I have made it a system (ages ago) but I would also like to know what it uses for media playing? is it using its own complete of settings or whatevers? or is it piggy backing off the standard player? If I uninstall the standard player will ES still work?
If ES is using its own settings - how does it take control of things so well that the skipping stops?
What other media players take majority of control and ----------dam it just skipped, so I'm rewinding to see if its the track.............nope---------(ok onto the next plan and increasing processor idle speed.
4) Increased Idle speed to as close to 400 as I can and 3 min later - still skipping! c##p
Now what? I'm going to go away and think about this some more - if anyone has any ideas please let me know.
I'm trying to replicate your fault but so far its been playing pretty well, Havn't noticed any skipping, stutters or whatever for the last hour or so.. I did notice a slight jitter when I first started up the music player (Stock) but that was just on startup.. now its rock solid.
you might have some service/App running in the background thats causing some CPU strain or memory hogging momentarily.. I would suggest checking your logcat either with adb terminal or an app that can show you your logcat. check this to see if your getting any low memory warnings or any other errors.
I'll start up a bunch of services and apps and see if I can get my music to skip, Ill also search my music collection for the highest bitrate files I can find (might be that I just use lower bitrate MP3's and so they don't strain the RAM and CPU as much as your high bitrate ones)
I'll let you know if I can get my music skipping like yours.
Kiwi
I've experienced this before, turns out it was the SD Speed Increase app settings that was causing the trouble. Apparently, if I change the setting to anything other than the stock (128 [bytes allocation unit?]), my music would randomly stutter/skid. Left it to stock and never installed it again. I hope this helps.
I've had it too, using UberMusic and CPU Tuner. The problem is not the minimum cpu speed, because the cpu will be running full speed when the screen is on (or more than the minumum). With the screen off profile, my cpu is running at 122MHz, and still no stuttering.
I think the problem is caused by low RAM. Uninstall any unneccesary app and try if the problem persists when you're not multitasking.
I've experienced the same problem a few times using stock music player.. but recently I downloaded google music and never experienced it again... you might want to try this app since it's made by google and ui design is awesome!(ics like)
I've been listening to music for 3 straight hours now, I've managed to get it to stutter twice, once opening a news app (CPU strain while updating web pages?) and once when I opened a file explorer (I repeated that action several times since and couldn't get it to repeat the fault) logcat on both occasions mentioned an error: DMAMISSED 32 for the audio driver. In computer terms DMA means "direct memory access" or the newer version Ultra DMA. this is a little chip that accesses external memory (firstly directed by the CPU but then it frees the CPU up to do other stuff while its reading away, kinda like having a second cpu just for reading your music, but it still needs to get commands from the CPU) and I'm guessing that the missed 32 error is the DMA not getting the message from the CPU in time, perhaps the CPU is busy with something else? or whatever, I'm going to suggest running lower bitrate mp3's and see if it still stutters as much (if at all) try ripping a cd at or under 192kbps stereo or even 128kbps.. What bitrate are you running now? 320kbps? Or variable bitrate? Still not sure if its the problem but would help to eliminate it.
DMA Errors could also be caused by an SD card fault.. might be worth trying another card and seeing if it stutters.

I wouldn't have a clue about this bit-rate thing your talking about - how do I check this?
I've also stopped using the CPU minimum speed thing because I think it caused my phone to totally crash and not display any menu's at all - so had to re-install from clockwork mod boot.
When I'm listening to music I'm not ever doing anything in the background with the phone - it just sits on the table or on the seat of the car - this is when it skips.

3) Still running Meridian player due to user friendliness and less skidding - (might go back to stock app to help create more skidding so I can isolate the problem.
4) Track bit-rates might be too high - I will try this as a last resort once I've tried the other options.
5) Try another SD card - hmmm maybe I'll try this another day when I've got some spare cash
In my case, the track bit rates aren't a problem since I often have 320kbps and variable bit rate mp3 files being played in the stock music player and I experience no jitter/skidding.
Ok -
* Instant skidding using Stock Media player with "SD speed increase" app uninstalled.
I'm also running

Would this cause skidding?
Now I'm going to re-rip the CD I'm listening to at a lower rate and see how that goes.
----right I've done that and also realized that when I put the original music files on my phone I hadn't converted them from WAV to MP3 so they were huge files. I've now re-ripped the cd in WAV and then converted the files to MP3 so now the files are approx 3 MB instead of 30 MB.
So now I will play them on the stock player and see how they respond.
that has been happening to me ever since i updated to .42 and i didnt know whether it was because i was fiddling with the phone (rooting, installing ics them which .62 reset to SE GRRR ) or whether it was just the amount of music and i had recently added Kasabians new album Velociraptor .. it was really ("was" hehe) especially because i would play it in the car connecting it to a jack lead on my radio .. and it was driving (no pun intended lol) me mad .. but then today i found my mini mp3 dock and though id plug it in and whack a few songs Foo Fighters and the like .. and I swear it didnt jump/skid/skip/slip once .. it was perfect .. and this was all before i updated to .62 about 10mins ago .. hopefully its all ok .. gotta check and make sure its still rooted
anyway thats my version of events .. peace out

Thanks for your input.....are you trying to say that you dont get any skipping when you use the mini mp3 dock rather than the jack lead?
I get skidding both through the lead and through Bluetooth.
Since reducing the size and format of the files I've not had any skidding or skipping.
