I just got my Cingular 8525 unlocked, and now trying to change to French OS, i'm not so clear about changing the OS, beside i have to download the Rom from Hermes_Upgrades, what else program and software do i need? and can you tell me what do i have to do next? thanks a lot!

yesterday i wanted to remove HSPL as explained there:

but the update failed and i get this message on the bootloader: Upgrade ROM code error Please try again.
I tried to flash anything without any success including hspl3 because spl version is 3.03 and my stock rom was from SFR(Vodafone France)
So please help me!

Without HSPL you can't flash custom roms or radios.. you can try flashing stock ROM from SD (which will overwrite the spl) to get back to an SPL compatible with the HSPL utility.
That spl is from from the latest htc stock release 3.14.. you can also look into sspl.
There have been threads on this topic, all you need to do is search

You need to see if your phone is branded, and what region it is from.
WWE, NLD, Asia etc...
Orange, Vodafone, Telus etc...
Only finding the correct stock rom can help you out here!

and for the goldcard just have a look to the line that i had posted it
the problem is when i enter psdread -1 in the command line it does nothing
i can't find the cid of my sd card through the bootloader
edit:it's ok i used another phone in order to find that

that means the rom isn't for your device, so if you think you are using a goldcard, you aren't.
Oh, and is THIS an sfr rom?
