Hello, guys!!
I'm from Portugal, and i have a Qtek S200 G4 that i'm trying to update to WM6, but i can´t!!!
On my desktop i'm running Windows Vista, so i don't know if that is the problem!!!
To begin, i tryed to make a dump of my Actual ROM with the software posted on the WIKI, and followed every single step, but when i can´t make a connection with the PDA, it always fail (CID lock???)!!!!
But so on!!
I started trying to upgrade to WM6 (Gollum's Rom), following the instructions on the first post. Downloaded every file, and let's do it!!
Wrong!!
I start with the upgrade to the WM5 NVID ROM posted there, i connect the phone to the desktop, syncronize (with Windows Mobile Device Center) and start the update utility. Follow every single step, the phone automaticly starts in bootloader mode and ERROR (comunication with device failed)!! It forces me to recover to original rom!!
I thought trying direct update to WM6, but i'm affraid, because every single post recommends upgrade to this rom first!!
Now i'm lost, i don't know what else to do!!!
Can, please, somebody help me dump my original rom an update my phone??
Must i remind that i'm using windows vista!!!

Utiliza uma instalação do Windows XP e creio que resolves o problema.

I did use the original NVID WM5 ROM that I downloaded from this site (FTPsection) that one works oke for me with Vista, instead of the suggested Step 1 Rom.
After that the Update.bat from the cooked ROM works just the way it's described.

Yeah everyone
We consider this not work from Vista without risk and tricks, so many use a XP machine or a virtual XMP machine etc.
If above works, please let us know, would be nice to use Vista to flash for a change, the problem lies with the RUU utils, most of them just are nut Vista compatible. It all comes down to finding the right RUU util for each flash job.

Well you can use Microsoft Virtual PC to create a virtual PC running XP. I believe it is possible from there, another option is using VMC for doing the same, I know it works there (has been mentioned here before).
Or create a dual boot pc so you can boot into XP when needed
We all hope for a good Vista working sollution someday...

Now i have another proble, i hope you can help me with!!!
I'm installing some software i need, but i would like ti install it on my storage card, but during the installation i dont get the prompt to choose where to install!!!!
How can i make installations on my storage card???

Hello all, i'm searching the ROM 1.66?? for my Qtek 2020. Does anyone have it? From were can i download it? It's strange since the new ones are sold with that ROM and i cannot find it anywere.

well the imate rom is out at that version for download
and my qtek2020 came with it but it's got some issues with not wanting to turn on once in awhile and the only cure is hardreset

So it means that i can use that version without having to hack it with the Rom tools? It's just direct? i will give it a try then. Do you think that your problems are related to that ROM version?

i cant say if it's the rom version which are giving me grief
because it came with that version so i've never tried other rom on the device
i dont know where to download it because my came with it installed
i somebody can tell me the adresses i have to put in dmemdump or whats it called so people dont get the bootloader or what ever they dont want from the rom and got a place to host the rom i could take it off my xda2 and copy it to that ftp
but all grps, mms. wap settings are set to some phone company so they have to be removed and new ones have to put in manualy for people to be able to use it because the phone company is not a big international phone company

I have always had success with this method, back when i was using the normal stock Qtek ROM, and AS 4.1 (and i still use it now as my default and only way to connect to my PC)
Install USBKiller.cab
Make sure it is set to SERIAL and not RDNIS
Go to settings-->Connections-->USB to PC --> make sure there is NO tick mark in "Enable advanced network functionality"

thanks thanks thanks my friend after hours and hours trying sincronize my prophet and after a lot of hard formats you solve my problem. Finally my s200 is working good with my pc. just one question there are some problem if i update wm5 to wm6 using this serial connection?

I'm from portugal dude, send in the grade de minis
You can use it to upgrade, I did it too. By the way, If you try to connect with vista you'll need to go back to rndis connection, so this cab is a diamond
My Qtek S200 Is Blocked (HTC Prophet)

Hello to all!
Being fan of HTC phones for more that 3 years, many and many times I've asked guru's how to unlock different models.
But today i got a Touch Dual, PTG, sim locked to TMN PT.
Spent all the day on the Niki's forum in hope to find solution for SIMunlocking - but nothing.
Finally I managed to install USPL and after, to flash it with an WWE Shiped ROM from HTCASIA. but WTF... phone is still locked.
Well, here I realized an old method I used to trick Nokia Locked Phones by Using MULTISIM Cards.
I still have my MultiSimCard(programmed with SimEmu6.1) with 2 numbers on it, my work number and personal one.
The trick I did - I programmed another number on my MultiSimCard as it is an TMN card with an corect IMSI and any Ki code.
Inserted the card into Niki and started fine with that TMN number. After that - from SimEmu program I switched to my Work number wich is from another country and another network, and "voila" - touch didn't ****ed me off, nor rejected my card, but started to get signal from my network operator.
I'm a lucky - 'cause I cloned my simcard's when they was COMP128v1 and didn't change my SIMs from that time.
But I guess this trick can be realized by using some adapters for DualSim.
Yeah.. better to have a phonebased solution, but until our guru's will provide us that solution, feel free to use this workaround.

Don't worry about it; having now solved how to make a patched AMSS boot, I can now provide an unlock for any device I like, so just hang tight, I was planning to do this device next anyway

actually it's not even research any more; all I have to do is change step 1 to flash a Nike Hard-SPL, tweak a few other things and the thing is basically ready to release.

Hi, I've an htc touch dual 20 keys version that I bought from vodafone spain, and I'm looking for an original updated to time new rom, either in english, spanish or portuguese(portugal). So I'm new at these stuff and I don't know what to do with the sim lock and I want to unlock it, can you explain me how??
Or with a new rom, either original or not, what rom do you recomend me to unlock the sim block and be more stable with my HTC NIKE?
I don't know how to install the new rom and those stuff, like spl and other things, can you post me some tutorial links, to don't mess up to much with the phone and broke it.

Este rom está en español y fue liberado por "Hellonasty", incluye el driver s600 que mejora el rendimiento grafico, Lee este thread para instrucciones de desbloqueo, antes de flashear tu telefono.

Look here the original rom. But this rom has been cooked in spanish 2 days ago.

i think ,the english language ROM is good for every prophet.
I'am chinese ,but i use EN ROM.

oh,there's a nb file,you could found a nb change to nbf tools in google,
i have a chinese version,maybe it's not good work for you
it is a nbf file! but when i try to use it with vistaRU i receive error 269! it seems that the rom isn't compatible with the VistaRUU!

I can flash it with VISTA.
Update your Driver first.
than use vista ruu
i've update the driver, but when i drop the nbf on the flasher it doesn't tell me anything about Device ID and other, but i can however push next button, and then i gave me error 269!
i've tryed also in xp: put the palm in bootloader mode (3 colors), launched the Vistaruu but still the same error!

İf you get this error. I think you didnt make hardspl right. I think Lazytool will solve your problem.
i've read that if i use vista, i don't need to do hardspl...

ok, i have used the first guide from windows xp, and then i've used vistaRUU still in windows xp. So i've flashed the rom. but now the palm it's extremely slow. so it's hard to explain it in english, however i've seen that touchscreen doesnt work: if i push on the left, it push on the right (it's an example), beacause when i've flashed the rom it doesn't ask to set the touch screen! so what can i do? i've try to do an hard reset but it's still the same thing: it doens't ask me to set the touchescreen!

After flashing the ROM have you make a Hard Reset ?
And have you read the tread about the ROM you have choose ?
Maybe someone have some suggestion for you ...

Dopo aver installato la ROM hai fatto un Hard Reset ?
Devi riavviare il telefono,quando lo schermo è ancora scuro devi premere
CONTEMPORANEAMENTE i 3 tasti accensione,camera e comm manager
oppure vai in settings,system,clear storage,e nella casella scrivi 1234 e premi yes.Aspetta poi il riavvio del telefono (perderai eventuali dati) e il telefono sarà
pronto da usare.
Poi puoi leggere il tread dove hai scaricato la ROM e troverai sicuramente vari suggerimenti,e se hai altri dubbi puoi scrivere lì

hi paolo, i've tryed an hard reset but it's still the same problem! it doesn't ask me to set the touch screen. i've used the buttons to enter into the menu an set the touch. now it is ok. but i don't understand some thing:

this is the trhead about the rom i've flashed. i've seen that in the archive there is the rom "nk.nbf" but there is also a folder "CONTENT_OF_SDCARD": what is this?
ah! a can't find a lot of program like PPCContactsManager, pbar etc...i don't think it's normal!

Thats why he get 3 color screen. Just make hardspl right than Lazytool flash will help you.
CONTENT_OF_SDCARD, this means programs for rom. İt contains programs Cab files. You setup it from your sd card.
Just spend your time reading all those sticky thread and Im sure you'll start understand it..
