my usb connection failed at the beginning of the update to wm6 = i try several hard reset and the defaut settings are implemented but when i reboot i'm stuck to the beginning screen (htc with the logo) = any idea before i have to ship my x7500 to SAV ?
thank you
david
try to get into boot loader mode and try from there
i think its camera , vol down, reset all at the same time
bootloader:camera+commanager+reset
else, tryfrom sd card:
Rename the .NBH file to ATHEIMG.nbh and copy it to your miniSD card. Press camera+com manager+soft reset to bootloader and wait for reading ATHEIMG.nbh from SD. Remember, the miniSD card must be formatted with a FAT32 filesystem before copying the file ATHEIMG.nbh to your miniSD. After finished, do a soft reset.
it's very detailed procedure . Put miniSD card to the unit do BL mode - it will start ( if your unit is CID unlocked for all ROM's) or for not unlocked - only CID passed ROM

Strange that I followed the above steps but the in bootloader, the ATHEIMG.nbh files is just not being read and loaded. The card was formatted in FAT32 already.
I just see the word "serial" at the bottom of the boot loader screen.
Anyone knows what I might have done wrong?

Hi I have done a search on the existing thread but can't find any relevant topic (for aussie).
I have a dopod 838 pro current using Black 3.0.1
IPL 1.04
SPL 2.03
I have decided to flash the ROM back to the official 3 network WM6, so I downloaded the RUU from 3 network website, and run the RUU. It works fine until it booted the phone into bootloader mode, and it just won't continue anymore (no memory card in the slot) The error message is saying it can't detect my phone (well activesync doesn't recognise the phone in bootloader mode anyway).
So I un-packed the RUU, renamed the NBH file to Heraimg and put it to my microSD. however my phone (while in bootloader mode) doesn't detect the microSD card.
can anyone give me a hint here?

1. Make sure you've got a good charge in your battery as it will take a while! Make sure the card is Fat32 formatted.
2. Rename the file on the SD card HERMIMG.nbh (your typo or lack of extension may have caused a failure as the bootloader looks for the exact filename)
3. Put the card in and then hold down the OK button (left side) and the power button (right side) and press reset with your stylus.
4. After a couple of seconds - you should get a screen with instructions on it (and list of what's to be updated) - Follow the instructions and all should work.
Hope this helps - good luck!

2. you can try first this http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=30&Itemid=27
if you received message image corrupted sent to imei-check to fix.&70pounds...then good lack..

1. With a card reader on your PC, format a non-SDHC (<=2GB) microSD card into FAT32 (tested to work up to a 4KB cluster size)
(the default size for a 1 GB would not work, also if it takes only a few seconds to format
try formating with some other slot/device. A 1 GB took over a minute to format correctly)
To format your Card - Open a DOS box and type/copy and paste this: ( format ?: /FS:FAT32 /A:1024 )
Replace the ? with whatever your SD cards drive letter is... ie: f, h, I.... Mine is G....
2. Copy the ROM to flash (xxxxxxxx.nbh) to the root of the microSD
3. Rename the ROM xxxxxxx.nbh to TITAIMG.nbh
4. Insert your card.
5. Force into the boot loader with POWER-CAMERA-RESET
6. Follow the instructions and you'll quickly flash your Titan...
7. You may have to soft reset once it says the update is complete
(If you are using UC let the customizations run so it will read the SDConfig.txt file)
This will work to flash with an official ROM and radio, I think regardless of the boot loader you have installed. But ensure that you have the correct boot loader (olipro 2.40 for this GPS ROMs) installed for when you do eventually finish with your flashing and are ready to boot into the OS.

Which rom and radio where on the phone prior to flashing and what are trying to flash now? Sound like you have a rom radio mismatch.
If you are flashing one or the other from a pre GPS setup it will do as you describe. Once the phone boots put it in bootloader and flash the correct rom or radio to match what you just flashed.
I'm just taking at a guess as you have provided little to go on.
If thats all he did ,then he didnt read the WHOLE wiki..... Start over from the beginning of the wiki... Did you install the correct bootloader? Did you install the correct radio?

can someone help me? all reply will be appreciate...
mine is :

spl: 2.10 olipro
Try the sd card method to fix.
1. Format sd card fat32 and copy the .nbh file onto it. Rename to hermimg.nbh.
2. Insert card and reset to bootloader.
3. Follow on screen directions.
Should reflash the OS, just remember to have more than 50% battery power and backup your sd card so you can restore it before you flash. SD card has to be 2Gb or less.
Cheers...
sdcard upgrading
man i already follow sd card upgrading but nothing happened when i get onto bootloader screen.
2 things to check, the .nbh file MUST be named hermimg.nbh with no spelling errors. The sd card MUST be 2Gb or less and HAS TO BE FORMATTED FAT32. It comes formatted FAT.
To get to bootloader, hold power, ok button above flywheel and reset with stylus. Hold in until tri-colour screen appears.
I know you are familiar with it but others who read this may not be.
Most people who say that it doesn't work have the one of the 2 things I mentioned set up wrong, mostly they don't format the sd card FAT32 as they assume its already formatted like that. I also found, on occsion, even though I had formatted the SD card \fat32 that it required formatting again.
Hope this helps.
Cheers...
i downloaded the a WM6 software and the ruuwrapper and the Hard Spl v7. I flashed it but nothing happened . Need help
Hold down power button, ok button and reset with stylus. Hold in until tri-colour (bootloader) screen comes up. This should tell you what SPL you have. Should be 2.10 oli...
If you have Hard SPL installed, you can use the sd card method to flash your rom. This is a must if the radio rom is part of the rom you are flashing - generally only in stock roms.
You must have a 2Gb or less sd card formatted FAT32.
1. Format Sd card FAT32. Copy .nbh file on and rename to hermimg.nbh.
2. Insert sd card in Hrermes and reset to bootloader.
3. Follow instructions.
Easy as 1,2 & 3....
Cheers...
Okay, so today I purchased a Hermes. While it'll take a while for it to arrive, I want to be prepared. And I certainly don't want a brick. So I'm pretty paranoid. That's why I'm asking, is the following procedure correct? (It's basically what I found here)
Download HardSPL
Download the ROM
If I have HardSPL (which I doubt), skip step 4
Install HardSPL
Sync and connect (with USB-cable) using WMDC*
When sync is finished, run RUUWrapper.exe
Follow the instructions (accept, next, accept, next, update)
Flash
Sync and connect (with USB-cable) using WMDC*
When sync is finished, run RUUWrapper.exe, the one shipped with the ROM
Click AutoDetect
Follow the instructions (accept, next, accept, next, update)
"Enjoy my updated device"
Download and install the .cab-files provided by Torben here. (Or should I change the registry?)
*I've read that there are some problems when syncing with Vista (which I, against my will, is stuck with), is this still present when using WMDC instead of ActiveSync?
Thank you for taking time helping a confused noob!
Mate, if you have a problem with using the PC, use the SD card method (must have Hard SPL V& installed - SPL - 2.10oli). To install Hard SPL using the Sd card method, go to page 116, post 1160 on the Hard SPL thread. It has links and the method to install hard SPL using the sd card method.
For ROM's use this method -
1. Format sd card (2Gb or less) FAT32.
2. Copy .nbh file of the rom you want onto sd card and rename to hermimg.nbh .Insert back into Hermes.
3 Put Hermes into bootloader - hold power, OK button above flywheel and reset with stylus, hold ALL buttons in until you get to tri-colour screen. If you have done everything right, follow the prompts.
Cheers...
But then I would have to buy an extra memorycard for the outragous prices of $7. But, I suppose I'll have to... Thanks for your reply!
Horrors......
Okay, I read the post. Very good! Just to make sure, I should not copy the RUUWrapper bundled with HardSPL? I add SSPL_HERM.exe and HERMIMG.nbh to the root of the newly formatted (FAT32) SD-card (not SDHC), run SPPL_HERM.exe from the phone, press the powerbutton when instructed to (to flash) and then reset the device somehow, once it's done. After that, follow the instructions here (phone connected to charger since it takes 30 min) and then all be fine?
(Yepp, I'm a pretty paranoid creature)
I just thought I'd reply to this message because I'm about to flash a custom Rom to a new iMate Jasjam and that my user id is errily similar to yours
I've used a 2GB Micro SD card to flash my last ROM upgrade (thanks to CRCinAU) and it worked a treat.
Cheers!
Oggy.
On my device (MDA Vario II) it stops at the bootloader screen (tricolor), and nothing happens.... but my device is not bricked, if i call softreset everything works, but i need hard spl to use an unlocker .... (which is also not working right now)
Did you run sspl.exe from the phone first?
You need to run this as it puts Soft SPL on so you can flash Hard SPL BUT you need to run it from the Hermes and not the sd card.
To get out of bootloader just reset with stylus.]
Also check that the sd card (2Gb or less) is formatted FAT32, comes formatted FAT by default.
Make sure you have renamed .nbh file to hermimg.nbh. Spelling matters...
Cheers...
jep done as instructed, still the same problem
What happens if it's not formatted FAT by default? If I can format a card as FAT32 but wasn't FAT originally, would it possibly brick it? (Not doing it (hopefully), just curious)
okay got it, cards broken, i think, used a new one
Doesn't matter if it was originally FAT32, most sd cards come formatted FAT by default, it has to be FAT32 or the flash WON"T work...
