dear users i am in real touble i have a Qtek 9100 its language is italian i wanted to change it into english in pda here is no english language in it my friend tell me that your phone is G4 and your CID is open you can post your problem to xda forums and users helping you and he also tells me that i can get the english language by changing the wm5 to wm6 he dont have wm6 plz give me link of wm6 and tell me how to check that the Pda is G3 or G4 and what is this for thanks if you have and give me the good information i am new to pocket pc mobiles (plz! do this)

Please read the stickies and you will find the ShellTool method to flash a ROM to G4 device.
You don't need WM6 if you just want to switch to English. Look for the "Wizard Love" ROM (That can be flashed through RUU directly).
(Alternatively, you may try the new SoftSPL method)

OK. That may not be a problem. Have you tried following the procedure? If so, do you get errors? If so, what are they? Also, Please tell me what ROM you are trying to upgrade to.

We would give you the solution if we knew what it was.
CID is Country_ID - when locked you have a limit on which ROMs can be loaded. For example if the CID is locked then you can't load a German ROM on a Chinese device. Unlock the CID then you can.

I´ve got a Prophet (SPV M600 of Amena), and I´m trying to upgrade the last spanish ROM qtek´s 2.20.7.36 (oficial), and it´s imposible my M600 is spanish, and I must not got any problem with the vendorID.
What is the problem?, Coould you help me?

Well folks
Someone gave me O2 XDA Neo which was in German. I successfully used the PDAmobiz tool to convert the german to english rom and now I have no problem at all. I recommend to everyone to use the tool.

The solution for G4 devices is the same as they do with Wizards,
it 's just a fact of cooking your own Rom.
I just upgraded my German XDA Neo 2.21.0001 G4 device with the new standard Qtek s200 2.10 Dutch Rom. You just leave the IPL and SPL in your device like it was and just change the Rom image. There is a nice guide from Faria in the wizard topic about cooking your own rom. Just follow the guide and set your favorite Rom on your device, simple as that !!!
It really works, just check it out ;-)

For what I read this is no solution... It's just mending the problem... Cause you'd have to do this every time you want to upgrade your rom...
How about the PDAMobiz way? Dunno if that works... But seems promising... The problem is that it hasn't got much of a feedback...
Yes you have to do it always over,
but it 's not that hard to cook your ROM,
in ten minutes it 's complete.
The PDA Mobiz thing didn't work with mine,
so I tried this ...

I have some simple question.
- I have an XDA neo from O2.
- it is G4 (.0001)
I want to update it to the latest GERMAN rom. Do I have to CID-Unlock it? Which tutorial applies to my problem. And can I still do a Backup of my original Rom (or is the O2 Rom on your page a sufficient Backup?)

You asked the same question about your Qtek 9090 12 months ago. Surely you've learned to RTFW in that time.
Under the Hermes WM6 there is an upgrade guide please read it.

You did have a 9090 when you posted on 25-04-2006.

And if your English really isn't so good you really will need to understand the above guide or you'll kill your phone.
DEFINATELY run Hard SPL v6 (SPL 1.40 Oli) before you begin because it'll save you problems later.

English rom needed badly,somebody please help me, I own a MDA VARIO g4 whith is unlocked and working great, but it is in dutch language and I need it to be english. Here is the problem, I don't have a xp or 2000 based computer at home, so there is no way for me to cook my own rom at this point. I surf the forums on an iPAQ trying to download all I need and than it's a trip (so 20 miles) to the next internet cafe trying to put it all to work. So far, I was able to hard unlock my phone and remove the simlock. Everything is working, but in dutch. It's a t mobile mda vario g4. Please help
read and follow the methods SoftSPL or HardSPL to upgrade to latest wm6 or 6.1 WWE (English) Rom,you can read about this in the G4 sub-forum posted as stickies.
I was looking and couldn't find a clean wm 6.1 rom for wizard g4 . Everyone of the posted ones has some progs in it. Does anyone have one or can post a link?

i think there was few older builds of clean WM6.1 roms in the wizard mobile thread. Another thing what you can do is to download the desired rom and kitchen and remove the stuff you dont like in the kitchen
Never tryed that, so better not Will try and search more if i could find maybe with minimum programs.
It's not hard to just turn off Touchflo on the ROM in my SIG. After a fresh install, has over 45MB of free memory, and averages about 20MB of RAM at idle.

You have two choices:
HardSPL (semipermanent, fools the hardware into believing that it is unlocked)
SoftSPL (temporary, places the phone in a semi-unlocked state long enough to flash it)
For most people, I recommend SoftSPL, simply because it's easy to revert back to your OEM ROM in between updates, if you turn into a flashing junkie.
