The two cards have practically the same read speed, 10 MB/s, but when it comes to write speed, the Sandisk is more than 3 times faster, app. 6.2 MB/s, and this of course is clearly noticeable when copying large files to the card.

as a warning, people on other forums over the internet have reported that there are some fake cards out there that rip people off...
they sell cards saying that they have 4gb but instead it is just a 2gb, hacked someway to say its 4gb!
some cards never even work!
others may work for about a month, then break after that!
my opinion is, stop giving away your money, ans top believeing all the liars that say that their card does work!
and if you want a 4GB card, wait until some wonderful hack comes around and enables SDHC on the wizzard (like it did for treo 650).... and then only buy from reputable stores like newegg, and trusted names like sandisk !
why do you think trusted companies never make "hacked 4GB" cards????
Why are they releasing real 4GB cards in SDHC format?
BECAUSE THE 4GB normal SD CARDS DONT EXIST!!!!!!!!
there is always the choice of buying 2 2GB cards!
ohh, and no initianion towards a flame war.... i just don't like to see naive people get ripped off.... also, don't believe every single word i say, the same way you don't believe every single thing other people say, just take into account my OPINION when buying one of thoes non-SDHC 4GB cards.....
If you got your non-SDHC mini card to work great for you, but that's what i think, i would never buy any card from any unknown brand.
new to XDA, and already in love!!!!!!!!!
a cynic might say that the branded companies are only releasing sdhc cards because they cost more to buy.
but that's why i started this thread - to weed out the 'bad' sellers.
i would like people to post their own info and experiences, and they can always edit their post if the card fails at a later time.
one issue suggests that 4gb cards are real - why can only the newer serial numbered wizards recognise them? if the cards are all hacked 2gb cards, then all wizards should be able to see them, shouldn't they?

Hi guys,
I bought this miniSD card from seller: powersellerturbo and put already 3147.44 MB and 687.56 MB remain. Total: 3835.00 MB. So far so good. can't complain. It's as fast as my old one (haven't test it though but works fine with my mp3s and games installed there).
Hopefully it will help.
Have a great day,

Moby Memory
Bought my 4GB from Moby Memory for £30.
Mines a U-TEK. It always works great for about a month and even benchmarks faster than my 2 GB card. Unfortunately after a month of use though it always decides to corrupt itself so after about 4 moths of having to reformat and put everything back on it I went back to my 2 GB card and only use it when I want to watch the movies and things that I have on it.

That one wouldn't work because it is a full size Sd card.
Hey everyone, I'm new here but I thought I could help out. I bought a 8GB microsd card from a-data through newegg for about $56 with shipping, and it works fine in my new t-mobile wing which is pretty much bone stock at the moment.
I have a SanDisk 8GB card and everything works great

8gb micro sd hc
I bought a SanDisk 8gb Micro SDHC and wouldn't register on my WING. I quick formatted several times but didn't hit me to do a full on FAT32 format. Once I did that, the 8gb was registered. Much thanks to the forum!
AMAZON
I saw some 8gb on Amazon a couple nights ago for about 6 bucks
Try ebay, just bought two for each of my phones for 40+(total for 2) with sd adapter and card reader, many different sellers on ebay, i just try to stay away from china sellers because of the shipping times.
是的,完全没有问题,因为我目前用的就是8gb的,花了145地钱呢!
ive had the 8gb from sandisk for 2 months now. it worked fine until now. my wing reads is very slowly now and my cpu does not even recognize it. i even got another card reader, it took me 3 hours to backup everything off the card through my phone via usb. im now back to the 4gb... i need my 8gb back so badly...
what about 16 or even 32gb ? is it worth to use one of these sizes???
I had a 16GB in my S621, just brought home my new P4351 (Herald) and it works perfectly.
yes, 8GB (cheap) microsdhc is working (at least on my herald)

Cheap MicroSD cards for flashing

In case anyone was looking for some cheap MicroSD cards that can be used for flashing, I thought I'd share some links:
$4.00 for Kingston 1GB MicroSD Flash Card w/ SD adapter:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134215
$9.49 for Kingston 2GB MicroSD Flash Card w/ SD+MiniSD adapters:

Thanks! Just ordered the 1GB.
You can usually pick up 512mb ones on ebay for less than $5 including shipping as well. And 512 is plenty big to use for flashing..

But newegg has this deal right now still:

I'd recommend checking out www.todaysdod.com for daily deals that sometimes include these for cheap. I've seen 2GB cards on there for the $5 range, and I picked up a couple of them on Woot a while back for $4.xx.

16gb micro sd problem

I bought a new kingston 16 gb micro sd.
Now the card says it is not bigger than 961 MB.
I have format the card twice fat and fat32 but it is still 961 MB..
What do I wrong, or is the card wrecked?
Thnx
If that happened to me, I'd take it back where I got it for a replacement.

If you got it on ebay there is a 95% chance you bought a fake 16GB micro SD card. I stay away from memory cards offered on ebay. Its a very good chance that it actually is a 1GB card made to report that it has 16GB when it doesn't. If you did get it on ebay hopefully ebay or paypal will be able to help you get your money back.

Yeah, I just read about that today too, and remembered this thread...I'm guessing the problem is more widespread than just Kingston, and is the source of many of the SD card issues people are having...just like the one above (including the "ghost-source" cards found on e-bay).
Here's an article with a slightly shorter explaination of the same report in that link chompx2 posted above.
So can anyone suggest a good class 6 card? I don't want to get one that turns out to be a fraud. And as bad as that would be, it would be even worse if I got one that worked as advertised and then a couple months later dies and loses all of my data.
Any suggestions for a card that wil be reliable for the long term?
Try the A-DATA 16GB Micro SDHC Class 6. I just got mine from Newegg.com.
I swapped out my Sandisk 8GB Class 2. I noticed a big difference on speed. I got mine for $54.86 including tax. Shipping was free. Mine does not come with a SD adapter but I already have a couple of them. Newegg does have Micro SD cards with the adapters. Just search around. Hope this helps.

Was it from ebay? SD cards are one of the items that I've started just paying the small premium to get from a known-good vendor (i.e. newegg, etc), just because of how commonly they're counterfeited and find their way into "unofficial" sales channels like e-bay and so forth
In December 2009 I purchased 2x 16GB microSD cards from eBay China for my new HD2. They took 2 1/2 months to arrive and when I got them they both only showed as 1GB and the writing on the cards were flaking. I was so upset. I could have gotten an 8GB microSD locally for less than the price of one of those fake 16GB microSD cards. At the time I had the original HD2 2GB in my phone, so even the 2 fake cards were useless.
I tried the Paypal resolution process, and it did not work. I never got back the US$80 I spent. The seller has disappeared.
In 2008 I bought 16GB microSD cards from eBay UK when they first came out at US$110 each and those were real (one was lost in a car, the other sold several months ago), so this time I was looking for a deal. I lost big time on those fake cards.
I bit the bullet and bought a single 16GB microSD Class 6 (also from eBay but from Topram US) to hold out until the 32GB microSDs came out (and now until they get faster and the price gets cheaper).
Stick to 'reputable' sellers on eBay, do not make a purchase based only on the best price, or take the risk of not getting what you paid for.
Here is a good seller with a good deal
I bought a 16gb class6 card from this US seller a year ago. It has been a great card and I have had no problems whatsoever.
Here is a link to a Kodak (Lexar) 16gb Class 4 card for BIN $40.24 with free shipping.
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Lexar-Media...-/400143735721?pt=PCC_Drives_Storage_Internal
I very recently bought a 32GB microSD on ebay from a HK seller grandtechdigital.
The card was a fake. It does have a capacity somewhere around 8-16GB, though. I only ended up paying $31 US for the card, and the seller gave me a refund since it was not 32GB.
The trick with Ebay is to make sure you file your dispute in time if you are getting jerked around. If you wait too long, then you have no recourse. I could be wrong, but I think you only have 60 days.
Good Luck!
Does anyone know how to fix the bad card I have? I know that it needs to be reprogrammed to show the actual capacity. Right now, it looses files when I try to copy too much data to it.
Found another even better deal!!
Check out this one!! 16GB Topram Class 6!!
