Dead Mic of HTC TyTn - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Software Upgradin

i have htc tytn herm100
from a couple of days i had a problem that during a call mic of tytn stops working
then i run rescue audio recorder(coz it displays the voice meter)
then try to hit lighty with a pen or finger near the mic
then it starts working.......
yesterday i opened tytn
and cheked that there is a four pin mic ( i think a mic and preamplifier is built in it)
one pin is ground
other one has 2 volt on it...
fortunalely i have a Imate Sp5m dead in my stock.....
so i opened it there was the same mic but a different text written on it...
so i replaced with it,,,,,,,,,but no voice........
i have also solded 4 wires to te points and make them as long that they could reach out side the tytn
then tried ordinary mics as well.
but not worked
now i m in big trouble.......
and using only blue tooth handfree .................
plz help me if any solution or any diagram
plz plz plz plz plz plz

crap i had this happen on my wifes prophet, hope it doesnt do it on my hermes too.
im guessing you cant do a warranty repair?

no i cant get warranty coz i have got it used ..only set no warranty
so i have to repair it my self
plz help me friends

me too, but my hermes has a problem not like u
his mic is also work, but when I flash a new rom , it's work normally , but after that it's work very small , my recorded work small , I don't know why,who can give me advise.thanks.

I had a broken microfone on one of my 5 hermes (yes I have exchanged it 5 times in less than a year!). Luckly I do have warrenty so I got mine replaced, but I dont think it was actually my microfone which was broken. The USB looked broken so I think I had a short in the USB port leading the phone to believe that a microfone was plugged in, therefore disabling the inbuilt one. You might want to give that a look into.

i also think that this is usn socket problem
coz it was started from the usb port

I finally killed my Blueangel I did it! HELP!

Well after 1 year of use and abuse.. i manage to produce the first phisical damage to my Blueangel
Just received a Car mount with external speaker and while fiddling with it the suction cup lost grip and the whole thing fall off the table (1mt +or-)
Well the mini jack for the hands free (which at that time had connected an enormous plug to convert 4pins 2.5 mm to 3.5) got torn off from the soldered points and was completetly loose... So hands on i managed to open the darn beast with a jewler tool set and much to my relief the 10 pin's connector (only god knows what they're for) has enough space to use my soldering iron to fix it back...
The problem was that one of the contacs in the board got torn off and for much i tried to recreate i think i didnt succeed as i only have audio from the headset now and not from the phone itself...
I am posting as maybe one of you guys could provide a connection diagram for the darn think so i can try to isolate the problem.
Please dont let me down...
Cheers

Sounds like you've a short in the connections for the microswitch *inside* the headphone jack - this is there to detect heaphones being inserted and switch the mode over. I would think default state isn't hot so a short would seem the logical answer.
edit - possibly the headphone jack's microswitch itself is broken?
Richard
That's why i need a diagram....
Yeha that's what i think, If i knew the pin out i could try to override the short....
i did a long research and it isnt posted anywhere....
Please help!!!!
I know that when u insert the jack in the hole it "pushes a lever that overrides external sounds... i just need to know which is !!!
Found solution... see there...

O2 Atom - stereo headset problem - because of upgrade ??

Folks, Anyone having issues with factory provided stereo headphones (wired) after the latest ROM upgrade? My phone at times fails to recognise that the headphones are removed (FM keeps working, I can't take calls etc). O2 service fixed it once; however, problem keeps repeating (goes away after i remove and insert the headphones few times). Just wondering whether there is any issue due to upgrade. Did not have this problem before upgrade though.
Hi I face the same problem, I had mine coming from Hong-Kong without backlit, send back and got a new one today. Working this time, have tried all the stuff, last thing I did was put headset in to test radio and was ok but now there is no sound anymore !!! It seems the connector believes the earphone is still plugged. Even doing like you in and out several times, no sound coming back and the radio always start as if headset was in. I do not want to send it back again, pay customs for the third time....
Very disappointed, I would better keep my wizard or s100.
If anyone have an idea ? Do someone know where to find a step by step instruction to disassemble the atom ? May be it is just the contact in the connector staying closed??
Thanks Stéphane
no solution
I had to send it back for replacement :-(
I've an atom pure white instead and is working OK

Head phone is not working!!!

Tonight I try to listen some music on my Tg01 and I discovered the head phone is not working, the answer button on the lead is not functioning either. I dont think is the lead because I keep it very safely and very careful not to damage it, I suspect is the micro usb jack is faulty but I can sync with PC with no problem. Have any one have this problem before?
If I can`t solve it I just return it to Orange for a new phone Phone just 6 months old. Hate to buy a new lead because I just can`t find it and I don`t think that`s the problem, not to mention waste of money.
I am using FFboy WM 6.5.5 Sense 2.5 Beta3 rom BTW.
Problem solved by new micro usb headphone lead. Toshiba one is broken ........

Where did you buy it from?
I got it from local market for £5, I am looking in to LG micro usb headphone adaptor too, I think it might work as well.

i think there's a nokia phone that uses the same adaptor too....

i know you fixed this...
but in case it helps anyone, my headphone somethimes doesn't work - the sound goes to the external speaker instead, but if i quickly dial a call (any #) & then hang up (before it rings at the other end) then the sound is diverted back to the headphones
Hi adzman808, I thing that this question was brilliantly explained in Modaco's forum by Kevin, some months ago....
http://www.modaco.com/content/toshiba-tg01-tg01-modaco-com/298887/headphone-amplified-sound-output/
I modified a couple of speakers (following the Kevin's instructions) with success. I had exactly the same issue, speakers worked perfectly but, sometimes, sound source changed randomly to device's speaker.
I just soldered a couple of resistors between left /right line and ground, as Kevin said, and problem has been definitively solved.
I'm sure that you have he same problem. By the way, in Modaco I was(am) Xdalover. Nice to hear from you in Xda dev as well.
Hope this help you
Cheers

I think it`s the same problem as my faulty toshiba lead, just yours is on the way out. Get a new lead and try it.

I believe this is a uUSB control software (driver) issue - have also experienced on occasion.
Typical scenario is when the TG01 has been on charge via the uUSB; unplug the charger and then plug in the external audio connector (eg. one of my home-brew cables used to feed an external 5.1 sound setup - see the Modaco post Pere has just flagged) - device refuses to put audioout to the uUSB and will only play via the speaker.
I have previously resorted to a S/R which evidently reset the uUSB controller to respond correctly to insertion of a B plug wired for audio.
Adzman808's solution is evidently achieveing the same result but by forcing a change of function call by initiating the phone call - hadn't thought of that trick !
I'm still looking unsuccessfully for source of the relevant chip that I identified in the previous post about the uUSB which is supposed to be able to support external charging and audio out and some other functions at the same time....

Xperia u microphone not working

Hi guys,
I've been looking for a couple of weeks now how to solve the problem with both the microphones not working on my Xperia U st25i.
After trying everything I've read about this topic (disabling the live wallpapers, Live Manager, soft reset, repair with PCCompanion, etc) I haven't been able to find a solution. So I ask a friend of mine, that has the same model, if I could disassembly his phone and try to connect the bottom part (where the primary microphone is allocated) to my phone to see if at least my primary mic would work. When I was at the point of disassembling the bottom part of his phone I saw that the ribbon connected to the phone could break so I decided not to go any further. So I reassembled his phone and the result was that now his primary mic isn't working. So now I have one phone with both microphones not working and another one with the primary microphone not working.
Anyone knows what could I have done disassembling my friend's phone to break the primary microphone?
Thanks
Ok guys, I've finally figured out. Turns out usually the zif connector has a black plate that holds the connector in place, but for some reason this two phones didn't have it. So the solution was to bend a little downwards the little pins above the ribbon so they can make contact to the ribbon itself. Now the mics are working.
SOLVED.

LG V10 Hi-Fi DAC Runing for no reason .

Hey folks i wanna throw her some question and also share some knowledge ....
I have LG V10 32GB
Barely one years old .
Someday during work i looked at my phone and saw that the Hi-Fi Dac app is runing for no reason and nothing is plugged to my phone .
The results - I couldn't make phone calls and the phone didn't had sound because he thinks earphones are plugged ....
Anyway .... I try to restart the phone , Took off the battery , Try to recharge it and also tried to plug aux cable and headphones to see if it will get off and eventually nothing happened .
I know it will sound weird but i took air compressor and tried to clean the inside of the PL plug .... and walla it helped ! The app got off and the sound and calls back to normall .
So my question is : Why it happen ? and if there is a different way to solve it ?
It could be a software problem ? Or hardware problem ? .
It can be related to the fact iam working with Metal\Mechanic\Welding
and some small peice of metal got inside the pl plug and caused some metallic reaction ?
And the last one there is somebody here that its also happened to him ?

its a hardware "problem", you just need to be more careful with the jack and micro USB port, keep it away from dust/metal/whatever because its the worst things you can damage outide your phone! You can buy a replace for the headphone jack because its modular an can be replaced...and after that your problem will be solved.
if you want protection for your ports buy a Nillkin Nature for it like i use and have the ports protected...i do it from the day 1 on mine.
