Dear All,
I was using 4.0.0.3. During my air travel i used to switch on the flight mode and it after landing i used to turn it off. It used to work properly.
But now after every time i land my phone refuses to detect a network. So i have to take out my sim. put it inside a 3310 or any other phone where it start working. After that when i put the sim card back in to my neo it starts working fine.
Is there something wrong i m doing.
regards,
vinit
Does the phone turn on when you deactivate flight mode? Do you have to remove the sim or does a soft reset suffice? Try to clean the card, I had similar problems. Try to reactivate the phone not by using the comm manager, but the wireless manager (tap on the connection icon in the top bar).
i had similar problem but it finished after uninstalling htc xbutton . or not installing it at all .use gullum's IX rom its without xbutton.
I do not use HTC xButton. It is not installed on my phone.
I used all methods suggested by the infestor. Tried cleaning the card many times. The phone turns on when i deactivate flight mode. Even tried doing this using the buttong on the tray as suggested by infestor.
I have to physically remove the sim card. This is turning quite a bit of a problem. Tried to take it to my phone operator. In front of them it suddenly started working fine.
Should i add that mine is an old sim card. i think a 16k sim card. it was issued in 2000. Can tha be a reason?
Regards,
Vinit.
I had problems on my prophet loggin into network because I had manual network selection. Somehow it didn't connect to chosen network from time to time, so I turned it to automatic and everything is fine since then. Maybe this will help ?
settings/phone/network -> network selection (under WM6 and WM5 i think)

Tried this as well. The only solution which i have right now is to switch off my phone when i m flying..and switching it on again...
the only solution is to press green button (call button) after you switch off flight mode and it will work.

I just got back from Dubai this morning, and I recieved my first call from the plane. Fine, it worked.... but then...
disaster struck!
The phone has the "no signal" message when I click on the reception icon. I've tried to click the "turn phone off" button but nothing works...
I can't get into the phone settings in the start menu to change networks...
I'm trying to back-up to SD to do a hard reset, but the phone re-boots itself every 4 minutes! The device is also very slow in responding to the commands. E.G. when I place my phone code it takes 3 seconds just to type in the number... strange! I have 48 / 64 MB free in memory and a 256 MB SD card...
I can't connect to activesync because the decive is not being recognized.
I took out the sim card and am using a crappy nokia until I get this deal fixed.
I searched the forum for possible solutions and some came close, but none popped the cherry...
Have any of you experienced this specific situation? Is there anything I can do to recover my data before hard-reseting the Qtek? I made about 30 new contacts on the recent trip and was going to sync when I got home from the airport... but the 1010 keeps passing out on me!! It's like giving a date a full bottle of Crystal Champange before hitting the bedroom... Sucks!
HELP!
Have you tried a soft reset without the sim or sd card in the xda?
From My experience, I faced this situation (very slow response) once when I selected "Calib/Debug" option by mistake from the GSM menu in the bootloader. The only solution was to do select "Reset" from the same menu but more than once. Hope that will work with you.
PS: if you didn't go to the GSM menu, forget what I said ... your problem might have another cause.

It's a long shot, but this could be dirty SIM or SIM contacts.
I've installed WM 2005 ROM version 1.50h. If there is new SMS , the device won't turn on automatically. What should I do ??
May be you can soft reset.
My experience with 1.5h: when I turn to flight mode ON then turn to flight mode OFF (to select another SIM in dual SIM holder) the radio will not swith ON. phone function is still off. I need to soft reset several times to see the signal strength.

It's not supposed to, it will play a sound, but screen stays off in case the device is in your pocket or bag or something.
Hi!
My HTC Hero (not locked, orginal firmware) constantly showing me that there is No Service, and while trying to connect it's saying - "Your SIM card does not allow connection to this network". After Turn ON/OFF Flight Mode (or reboot) everything works ok again for a while. But later the problems appears again.
I ordered new SIM card, but it doesn't help. So it doesn't matter whether it was old SIM card( ~2000yr) or new (2010).
I tried to put a small paper there sim card holds, doesn't help too. So sim card holds well, and it's not a mechanic problem.
You is my last chance!
the problem is common.
the hero has a problem that of you do not have the sim card in properly it comes lose due to vibrations etc. make sure it is completely locked in place by dragging it as far left as it will go.
hope this helps
Or it could be that your phone has a fault. In which case return it to where you bought it from.
I had that quite often on the original radio.
check on Modaco and make sure you have uploaded the latest Radio ROM to your device.
that fixed it for me.
I've not had it since i loaded the JU radio.
I had the same problem. all what you have to do is a hard reset.
HARD RESET
1) Turn off the Phone
2) Press HOME + POWER KEYS (keep them holding for about 25 secs)
until you see a screen with a phone and a triangle.
then
3) SLIDE YOUR KEYBOARD TO OPEN IT
4) press ALT + l ( TO SHOW YOU OPTIONS)
5) Press ALT + W ( TO FORMAT ALL DATA)
It worked for me.
Whenever I go to underground parking or roam, then phone will sometimes never get connected again - just saying "emergency calls only" in the display instead of operator name. I can get connected to the network again by doing airplane mode on/off, but this is a huge hassle as it can take hours for me discover that the phone has went into its not wanting to reconnect to network mode.
This was first day out the the box, nothing done with the phone. Tried recover to factory reset, same issue still. Is the phone simply broken? It's not a SIM card issue, works great with old WinMobile. I have a Samsung Gio.
Hi there,
I have this Android chinese phone which was given to me as a present, no manual.
My problem is that the phone has two SIM slots and after I turn the device on, it boots and tells me that 1 SIM is missing. What happens after that is that it recognizes the SIM card in the other slot and connects to my mobile provider but the connection lasts couple of minutes and than I have no signal for a while. After some time, the connection to my mobile provider works again, but after another couple of minutes, there is no signal again.
I presume that the phone wants to switch to the other SIM which is not there.
How can I turn off this switching from one to another SIM?
Or do you have any other idea what could be causing this (regular) disconnection.
Does anybody know how to enter in boot mode (or any other mode where I could influence this switching between the cards.
The phone does not have any installed app which I could use to influence this SIM-switching.
Thanks for any help/advice
