First of all let me thank EVERYONE who contributed to this site. I'm new to the Hermes world and everything I needed to know on how to flash my phone was documented in a very easy to understand way. My cingular 8525 is now running the cooked WMXL 0.20 relase with an upgraded radio from 1.16 to 1.35.00.11. I couldn't be happier.
One thing i've always wondered about my device is when I go to a site like www.pocketpcmedia.com half the time i try and stream a video i get a blank screen and can only hear sound. Maybe if i stop and start the video a few times i'll finally be able to actually see it. What gives? Upgrading to WMXL didn't seem to fix this problem.
What does the Streaming Media program do in WMXL?
Thanks

Please do a search on streaming video and you will get this post

The issue with no video but only audio seems to occur when the videobitrate of the videostream is too high to be handled by wmp.
For pocketpcmedia you should try to select to "low" bitrate stream (but these sometimes also have a videobitrate wich is too high)
Do you have any examples for streams where this happens?
The streaming media Program is used for streaming in 3gp format. You can for example select the "3gp" streaming format in Orb. Then when you select a videostream in Orb you will see the streaming media program starting.
Hello and good afternoon everyone,
Not sure if I am bieng a total speng here or if I actually have something.
I have now updated my UK ameo to WM6.
I reintalled Core player (legal paid for in my name ) and TCMPwith all the plugins I had.
Now for some reason when I have the imageon video driver selected and I play movie I get a screen filled with comlpete static fuzz instead of my nice sucking lady (or what ever other movie I play )
I am sure I experienced this before on WM 5 but it sorted its self out.....
Has anyone else experienced this with WM6?
Any work around to get playback sorted??
Thanks
Same problem here....
Same problem here....
ATI have refused to give the Imageon specs to Coreplayer. In Coreplayer you can go to menu/tools/preferences/video and select raw framebuffer. That setting works fine. I can only imagine that in TCMP it would be the same setting.
This works for me
This is a little crude, but for CorePlayer, go to Menu>Tools>Preferences>Subject Page>Audio. Then the change the Stereo mode from "Stereo" to "Stereo swapped" and back to "Stereo". Click OK and play the movie.
The movie will play fine.
Good luck!
To update my answer
I located a much better solution in the forum - change the buffer to 24,000 KB. This produces perfect results.
Hey guys, new owner to the Tytan here, I got Sprint's version though.
So far so good with the phone but i do have a couple nitpicks...
I already read about the battery life, i think the one i got at first was used or something cause not even using wifi a lot or bluetooth i was avg less than a day! I got another battery, hopefully it works better...
1st Question: I noticed Windows Media Player has no equalizer, what kind of programs out there do you guys reccomend for playing music that have more options than WMP?
2) I tried playing videos through youtube but WMP keeps giving me error messages saying "cannot read file" What can i do?
I got others but i can't remeber now.
Thanks for your help!
NOT sure about the equalizer...Search for tcpmp and the flashvideobundle and you can get youtube.

Since July I have an annoying problem with playing a video which was made by camera in VGA.
It freezes every 1 - 2 seconds.
I have problems only with this type of video.
Which packages do I have to replace?
Or do I have to do something else in my kitchen?
P.S. Tried 2.14 - 3.14 Drivers.
Does anyone know, how to solve this problem?
Please, HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
try core player, it reads many formats and is very smooth

TCPMP (The Core Pocket Media Player) is a free alternative. This is where CorePlayer came from. It plays any format with the best results, it can even display subtitles. It will make the best use of your hardware. Assuming you have an HD2, it will play DVD Rip movies without any problems, just as you get them on your computer.
I want to get rid of freezes for default (HTC) player, because I want my HD2 work better with default soft.
You could try installing leo cpu speed and disable speed scaling, that may help.
Sounds like an issue reading from the sd card though, it may be worth backing up your files and formatting the card.
Did you change roms recently, i.e. around July 1st?
I made the last my rom yesterday.
And this issue have all my users.
Doesn't anyone know how to solve my problem?
If you could upload a sample captured video, then somebody can try in their mobile and then you identify its an issue with player or recording format, bitrate etc.
Well I am on my third Gingerbread rom (6th overall rom) and I finally have gotten the Vulkano to stream in all situations. Last night I downloaded CM7's nightly build 58 and flashed my G-Tablet. Installation was very smooth using clockworkmod and all 128 apps were restored using Titanium back with no problems. I had wiped and formated just about everything I could before doing the installation. After that I went to the market and downloaded the Vulkano player and at last sucess. I was able to stream from the vulkano both locally and over the internet. I realize some other people have had sucess using Corwins rom (CM7 based), and that was going to be next if this did not work. I had previously tried G-Harmony with no sucess, and then Vegan Tab GB with limited succes. The strange thing with Vegan Tab was it would stream over the internet however it would not stream when I was home locally. Watching the bandwidth I was getting at home the software player seemed to choke everytime it was over 1 mb/sec. When I was out of the house and connected over the internet it worked fine at speeds anywhere from 300-900k. This leads me to believe the hardware accelleration that is now included in CM7 is working with this app allowing it to run over my local network. Another thing that I have struggled with is getting recorded shows downloaded to my G-Tab. Well I still can not get it to work with any rom and the vulkano player but I have a work around for now. By down loading the videos using UPNPdownloader (avlalable in the market for free) you can then watch the recordings using MOBOPlayer or Rockplayer. Now for even better news when Rockplayers asks if you want to use hardware decoding and you answer yes the videos run close to flawlessly. On the other two GB roms it obviously would not work using the hardware decoding. They did run on the roms using the software decoding but they would stutter even at the lowest recorded resolutons. When playing high quality recordings they would be unwatchable due to the delay in video processing in which the sound which was a full 3-5 seconds ahead of the picture. This would make all sense since the Vulkano records in the H.264 video format and if I am not mistaken that is the portion of hardware accelleration that is working. Well I hope this helps someone else.
Lastly I do miss the Vegan Tab interface, the VT Launcher was very smooth and the rom was much more tablet oriented. I can not wait until gojimi includes this in his rom since the rom is CM7 based if I am not mistaken. Please excuse any typos and good luck.

Interesting. I have a vulkano, and am running vegantab with pershoot's latest overclocked kernel - I have not gotten around to getting it set up, but under that other OS (er, iOS?) I would pull over 2Mbit/sec (more like 3) for local HD content, and 1.5+ for remote (yay for comcast HSI) - I should test it out. I'll let you know what I see tomorrow!

Sounds good I am interested to see what happens. I am currently streaming between 1.6 and 2.0 mb/secs locally using the wireless router Verizion put in when I got Fios. My iphone streams locally between 300k - 600k usually.

VeganGinger just gives me a black screen and spinning "buffering" with the Vulkano inside the home. Meh. Not so good!
For the record, Vulkano (Monsoon) refuses to support G Tab and Android 2.2 at all. I'm now in a legal war with these clowns. be careful on CM7 as you may still encounter buffering quite often and screen lockups.
Vulkano issues on CM7 for Evo
I have the Vulkano player working flawlessly on my Nook Color running CM7.1 RC1
However, I cannot for the life of me get it working CM7 and my Evo 4G. Tried the stable and testing builds. I'm still debating if I really want to move to a nighly, but I might just do it to see if it works and restore back to 7.1 RC1.
BTW, I'm so happy they finally have a root process for the Evo 4G on Gingerbread!

Hello,
I am trying to make if possible the android vulkano application to work with 4.4.2 or Lollipop and stream while the screen is off.
This was possible with my 2.3.7. But with newer devices seems impossible. I am digging up some old vulkano posts incase somebody figured this out.
Thank you very much.
