Would this work with the Hermes?? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam Accessories

hi
I walk to work and back everyday and I listen to my DAB radio all the time.
Problem is (and I realise its not the biggest problem in the world) I can't hear my phone so always miss calls.
Can anyone think of a solution so I can get audio from my DAB into the Hermes so I can listen to the radio and when I get a call, it interupts the audio? I thought about using the mini usb but that only has a mic in and if I use that, if the phone rings all they'll hear is my radio
Its a big of an expensive solution but would this work?:
http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProduct.action?product=TMR-BT10
So I bluetooth audio to my Hermes then use the wired headphones/mic to listen to it and if I get a call, the audio stops?!
Would that work?
thanks in advance
cel

You could just have your phone on ring AND vibrate and keep it in your pocket so you feel it.
Just an idea

Try these instead. http://www.plantronics.com/north_america/en_US/products/cat1150057/cat5420035/prod29780013
I have had a pair for about a year and the sound is great. You can connect the included dongle your DAB or any other non blue tooth audio device and set up a link between your phone and the dongle with the headset. While you are listening to your music from the DAB if you receive a call the headset silences the music and you can answer the call directly from the headset. When the call ends your music resumes automatically. I may be a little pricier than device you listed but works like a charm.
Note make sure you look at the 590a not the 590e. The 590e does not include the dongle.
Also don't purchase it directly from Plantronics site. You can get it for about $100 if you search the web for it.

BT Headphones Finally Working!

I've spent many a frustrated hour trying to find a way to use my Bluetake I-Phono bluetooth headphones without that damn dongle and at long last, I've found a solution!
"Simply" install the WM2003SE upgrade by toenailed/xda2jojo (which is pretty bloomin impressive, BTW) and then install the HP iPAQ Bluetooth Stereo Headphones Driver Update.
This adds a "High Quality Audio setup" option to the Broadcom bluetooth implementation within the WM2003SE upgrade. Not quite A2DP but pretty damn close. Fidelity, volume, bass are pretty good, particularly considering its a wireless connection, but there are occasional "pops" and "squeaks" to contend with. The connection is so sensitive that I'm having to maintain line-of-sight between my XDAII and the right-hand (BT connected) side of the headphones. I can move several yards away but only as long as I keep the LOS, otherwise the connection degrades significantly.
It's far from perfect but its not a bad compromise until someone cracks A2DP on the XDA (something which I would happily pay £50 to achieve, if any interested party is listening).
Cheers,
Ged.
Headset Update
I've been playing around with bluetooth headset settings and I can't make it work under either BT stack.
BLUETOOTH HEADSET
Hi there mate I have V3 BTHS I tried using broadcom plus the upgrade but its not working...not sure though if I configure it correctly ...When i checked the connection on the bluetooth MAnager/Active Connection it shows an Icon in the Outgoing Connection and it is connected but i dont hear any sounds on my bt headset. What could be the problem? BTW my BT works on the orig bluetooth progy but only on the calls not in music players and sound notification. Hope you can help me. Thanks
As I understand it, you can use a BT headset for calls or BT headphones for music, but not both. My headphones are supposed to work in headset mode but they don't... for the moment at least.
Sorry I can't help further mate.
I understand "High Quality Audio setup" is A2DP. There is nothing more to achieve.
Surur
Okay I have the Bluetake i-PHONO on order. Can someone please tell me if it's possible to use them as stereo headphones and a headset at the same time? When you add the Bluetake to your BT setup as high-quality audio, can you add it at the same time as a BT headset? Does it show up as two icons in the BT manager? The Bluetake is supposed to automatically switch between A2DP and headset/handsfree profile... What I want is to be listening to music using media player over A2DP, then hit the button on the Bluetake and pick up a call. Isn't this the way it's supposed to work?
BLUETOOTH HEADSET
oh ok now it makes sense hehe. thanks PinkySlayer. Iphono is bit expensive though its almost a price of a mini ipod...
Expensive they may be, MTX, but I HATE cables, and what's the point in carrying around an MP3 player when you already have one in the form of an XDA (albeit with a few 1GB SD cards in tow)!? I'm working towards a personal nirvana of "single music source, multiple outputs"; I have an FM transmitter wired up to my GPS enabled car cradle so both my WMA and TomTom audio come out of my car speakers; I have wireless Sennheiser headphones for the house and now and now I have wireless BT headphones for mobile use.
I didn't think that was the case, surur. It certainly isn't in practican terms in that the Bluetake phones work great with their own BT dongle (which truly supports A2DP) but with the "High Quality Audio setup", things arn't so rosy.
That's what the Bluetake phones are designed to do, trhuseby, but I think the only way to achieve that at the moment is to use the BT dongle for music playback and then connect your XDA direct to the phones in headset mode. I believe that the phones would then automatically swap from music playback to headset mode when a call comes in, but you have to use that bloody dongle.
The settings for "High Quality Audio setup" do allow the (de)selection of both audio and headset connections but alas, this does not make it work.
BT HEADPHONE
yeah i hear you Pinkyslayer...I really like to have a bt headphone i'm just looking for a cheaper headphone. i was thinking on buying a HP or Toshiba headphones

will this work? Thanks
Can't see why not.

Hi, finally did you try the Bluetake? Did you found any solution or stereo headphones with headset working for you?
Thanks

A2DP can i do what i need to with it

Im wanting to get stereo audio for use in my motorbike helmet for music. At the same time have the audio from tomtom to come through the ear piece. then when a call comes in take it. so i can let folks know i need to pull over for the call.
Also i want to be able to use the voice dial to make a call, save taking off the gloves to dial.
I currently have a jabra 205 which i use in the car but only have the tomtom on the xda2i.
I have run tests, the xda2i lets me listen to music on the jabra (very poor quality) tomtom also comes through as the music is playing. when a call comes in the audio switches to the call but when the call ends the music n tomtom switch back to the xda2i and i need to press the button on the jabra.
On the mini s i cant get the audio from media player to come through the jabra.
I know what ever i get im going to have to strip out and fit into the helmet (doesnt bother me as long as it will work, i am an electronics engineer)
so what stereo head sets are there and will they do what i want
Wrong forum for this topic. Please post in "General" or "Accessories".
hmmm
Err this is the accessories bit for the wizzard/mini s isn't?? As the question is about A2DP and it working with the mini s, and if the mini has the ability to run music, tomtom and calls through Bluetooth headset.
If this does need posting in another area will you post the link to which area you want me to put it in.
Thanks
203 views and only one reply telling me its in the wrong place......
i have got the motorolla bluetooth headset (big and embarassing to wear) and it works very well with the wizard (I am using mr clean tmobile uk rom), and does everything you want, but the only problem is a cant get microsoft voice command to work reliably by pressing the button on the headset.

Moto pc850 dongle + jensen wbt212 + 8125

I bought this headset and so far its been good for the price. It was like 25 shipped on ebay. Only gripe is that it can only do volume on the headset, no back/forward.
It works and sounds fine on my 8125, however I do hear slight crackling throughout songs. Im sure i could help it with some tweaking.
But my real problem is that it doesnt seem to work with my dongle. So im calling out anyone who has a pc850 and a stereo headset. What do you use to connect through bluetooth, "Audio Gateway" or "Audio Headset". My jensens only allow me to use audio headset. When I connect I start to hear static on the jensens but thats it, no audio is passed, even though the status shows good signal. 0 bytes are transfered and received.
However, when I connect in headset mode, I do get the prompt that a high quality audio connection has been found, and the message "the next time an audio player is opened, audio output will be sent to bluetooth. So its quite confusing. First I dont know which connection to use, then I can only use one, 'audio headset'. then it seems it works, then I get no output.
Looking at a review of the ht820, i think the reviewer used Audio Gateway, which is why im asking.
to test i have been using windows media player 11 and some mp3s, wavs, avis. also are you suppose to hear audio through your speakers once the headset is connected? because I do and i thought that was odd.
Just to throw this out there too, one, and i mean ONE time i tried to connect, It was actually sending information, but it was the ring you get when someone is calling on the headset. also I could see info being transfered from pc to headset through the status page.
Also to note the dongle works fine with activesync and the 8125. which is great because it would be useless at this point if that didnt work.
How did you get it to pair with the 8125?
So the issue I have, ..
I can pair the two devices, and in bluetooth settings, I can find the wbt212, set up as a hands free device, .. when I go to make a call, it doesn't auto-connect to the headset, and the "turn on hands free" is grayed out. The headset never stops blinking the fast 3 blinks.
Was there something special you had to do?

Cassette adapter for car radio?

Does anyone know of a adapter I can use to connect my 8525 to my car cassette player to play some mp3s?
Casette adapter
I'm using regular (wired) casete adapter which I got from RadioShack and connect it to R35 which in its turn is paired with TyTN. By this I can listen mp3 stored in mн PDA as well as on-line radio through car speakers. I should note that quality is much better than I expected, better tha regular radio (not HD )
Wonderful news thanks..
I installed the Sony MEX-BT5000. Its able to stream audio from the tytn via BT. Very nice, it connects automatically when I start the engine. I also use it as my handsfree for calls. At first, callers said they couldnt hear me loudly, so I flipped down the faceplate during calls and now calls are good. This is because the mic is behind the faceplate.
Just thought I'd throw it out there...another option to connect the tytn wirelessly.

This is wonderful news because I was just looking into some bt radios..
Do you have a BT headset? I'm curious if I can still use my headset while in the car and just do the audio part..
I do have a BT headset, but I found that the combination doesnt work well. I tried to split the audio streaming to the headunit, and then the handsfree to the headset, but the results were unreliable at best.
I've found that the headunit mic is good enough quality to speak through, as long as you flip down the faceplate. If you dont want to use the handsfree, you can use the audio only and regular Tytn phone. The BT connections are separated by Sony.
Interestingly enough, I was able to internet radio stream via BT to the headunit, and run Tomtom navigator 5 BT GPS unit at the same time. The music volume was decreased and the directions came over the music.
I guess I could just turn off my headset while in the car. I assume it will mute the radio when calls come through..
So you don't get any skipping or anything while playing mp3s?
Do you store your mp3s on a storage card?
Mp3s stored on storage card and internet radio streaming doesnt skip connected via bluetooth.
What is a R35? Is it a BT radio reciever of some sort?

[Q] bluetooth speaker phone defaults

I am sure this may be an issue for some people. my car stereo has bluetooth that links with my phone and mutes the car stereo and turns on speaker phone when a call comes in. i like the fact that it mutes the stereo since i usually have it very loud, but my problem is i cant set it to default to the phone earpiece and not the speakerphone, even when i answer a call and press the button to keep it on the ear piece, it switches right back to the stereo a second later, i press it again and it stays on the phone. i have had this issue with all my other phones as well and it drives me nuts. is there anyone who can come up with a fix for this?
i appreciate any input anyone may have on this.....
thanks
It is not a problem with the phone, it is to do with bluetooth profiles as they are designed to communicate with TWO devices not THREE. I also use car stereo for playing my music. I do not get that many calls while driving so I never use my bt headphones.
Moved to proper forum.
sorry about posting in the wrong forum. I am only trying to get it to default to the handset when i pick up a call. i do not use it to play music, so i have no need for that to even be an option, i just want to be able to pick up a call on my phone, and have it stay on my phone while it uses the bt link to mute and un mute the stereo. i find the speakerphones in car stereos to be totally worthless for talking, but i find the mute feature very useful.
