How can i install new themes ? - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 ROM Development

hi
how i can install new theme on my s200 and where i can find thme ?
all tanks

Use Total Commander for deleting write protection of your windwos files in this way: Goto windows, Search, and search all png- and brn-files, mark them and goto properties. Unmark "Read only" and press okay.
Now you must replace the windows files with your theme files...here with the welcomehead.96
Also you must have for "X" the new Biotouch.reg. Use a reg-editor and replace the Biotouch.reg in HKLM/Software/HTC with this new file. Put the cmt-file into pocketcm(version 0.15), choose it in program and the imort-files into the mortplayer-program...if you use it. Goto Start/Settings/Today and choose the theme "Black X"

I believe he just asked for themes.
Anyhow, to change to a different theme, you can simply search the forums for files that end in .tsk
Copy the *.tsk file into your Windows directory, then you can click on Start -> Settings -> Today (and change it from there)

tank you Taurus i ask just abot themes exactly
tanks another time
bye

Help with small problem, password protect.

While playing (a bit too much), I must have deleted the password setup icon/file from settings and cannot change or disable the password screen. Anyone knows what the file name is and can post it here or email me the file. I know the password and can get in but I really don't need it and would like to disable it.
The shortcut is exactly like this:
"ctlpnl.exe cplmain.cpl,1"
>> without "" quotes

Thanks ezzkht, but how do I create the shortcut?
Try to copy any shortcut from \windows\start menu\programs\
and paste it to the location you want, rename it & edit it using Total Commander (right-click on it & choose Properties, then go to Shortcut tab and change the TARGET parameter to "ctlpnl.exe cplmain.cpl,1" without quotes.
The icon will automatically change to the password icon

Sorry ezzkht, I did exactly what you said but it did not work. Tried with and without quotes, tried 0 instead of 1 but the icon never changes to the password icon just an executable icon but nothing happens when I click on it.
OH yes you are right!! sorry!
Ok here's the shortcut, I just get it from my device..
I opened it with a HEX editor & found the following line inside it:
51#ctlpnl.exe cplmain.cpl,1?\Windows\cplmain.cpl,-6000
plz tell me if it worked with you
Hi ezzkht, I tried but this also does not seem to work.
I checked the registery and their is a mention of a Password.cpl in the Windows directory which is not in mine. I installed logologin and picturepassword and have recently removed them, don't know if they might have also removed this file. It may be the the problem, do you have this file.
Neither me, I don't have password.cpl file in \windows directory!!
I have cplmain.cpl only!
I noticed that the password link points to cplmain.cpl with a parameter of : password.cpl
I guess that cplmain.cpl is a composite file which contains alot of programs, one of them is the password program!
Do u have the cplmain.cpl in windows directory??

Thanks ezzkht, this was good but it still did'nt work. I think somewhere their is a file missing. I will try emailing MS and see if they have an answer.
You welcome, but I did nothing!!
A hard reset could help, unless you are not willing to install your programs all over again!

You got that right, finally got all the programs and the look I want. I am going to do a backup via Activsync and a clone backup tonight at home then if all else fails I will do a HR, copy any missing files from the windows directory and reinstall my backups.
Seems a great idea
Compare the two WINDOWS directories, and copy only the missing files..
Good luck dude

Use a reg editor like sktool, Goto HKLM/Software/HTC. Export the Biotouch folder to your MyDocuments-Folder (for Backup), copy my biotouch to storage card and import it with the reg editor to the HTC folder. Soft-Reset your ppc.

Two new themes for wm6: Glass X and Glass X Blue Edition (Post4)

Download here
mind to teach how to place it in the touch XB?
tq
i love it,it is awesome man.
I completed the variation of the theme: GlassX Blue Edition
Thx for feedback, zeroed.
If you wanna use it with X/XB, or IX replace your Biotouch.reg with the one i offered in the download area (HKLM/Software/HTC). Before make a backup of the file. Use totalcommander for deleting the write protection of your brn, png and bmp-files in windows: Go to windows, press search, write *.png (next steps *.brn and *.bmp) in the field and when all are found, mark them with ctrl + a, goto properties and unmark Read only. Then copy all files from the download to windows, the cmt file to Programs/Pocket CM and restart your prophet. When it starts new, go to settings/today and choose your today theme from the download.
This procedure you must only do one time, and you can use all of my themes.
For those, who wrote me, that they need help for an installation of my thmes: Click on one of the theme links in my signature (ex: Glass X), in the post i included now links for installation instructions and other changes.

hack, hack, hack, all day long...

hey there...i was wondering if anyone could take a sec to help a n00b out...
i've been working on a rom (6.5 build 23544) using Ervius visual Kitchen for gene by BesFen for a few days...i've finally found all the packages i want and made a few ones myself...i made a test rom and its running well...
but there's still one huge hole left in my finished build...so i just needed some help i.e. needed to know a few things
1. where do i change the the default splash screen (the orange windows image) that pops up after the boot screen
2. where to replace the startup gif image and wav sound
3. how to set an external theme as my default and removing the inbuilt themes that come bundled with the 6.5 builds
4. how to change the default icons (i have an icon pack as well a cab file of the same)
5. if there is a way to set up a shutdown animation and splash screen in the kitchen before creating the rom
6. edit any other settings and tweaks while still in the kitchen phase
7. change the start menu icons for the softkey buttons and start menu
8. edit the taskbar and softkey bar to make it transparent on the today screen as well as inside the menu
9. remove default ringtones and replace them with our own
i tried searching the net and going through the posts here but i'm drawing blanks...
i'd appreciate any solutions that come my way!!
solutions!!
found a few solutions myself...a lil' help from the boards...
if anyone else is interested in them, here they are-
1. the splash screen can be changed by replacing the welcomehead.96.png in the "SYS\28230\dpi_96_resh_240_resv_320\COMMON\Redist_dpi_96_resh_240_resv_320\" folder file with your own
while you're at it, you could replace the complete.96.gif file too
*but make sure that you have edited your images to the correct format and resolution before making the changes
2. the animated.gif and bootuphtc.wav files in the "kitchen\OEM\OLDGENE\COMMON\OEMOPERATORS" folder can be replaced with your own
4. add your icons in the "kitchen\SYS\28230\dpi_96\COMMON\Base_DPI_96" folder thereby replacing the default icons
*make sure that the names of the icons you add to this folder is the same as the default icons
6. to change the rom's date and give it your own name, make changes in the "mxipupdate_OEMVERSION_100.provxml" file in the "kitchen\OEM\OLDGENE\COMMON\OEMVERSION" folder,
this can be done by opening the file in notepad and making your changes in the 'value' section
do correct me or suggest an easier method if known to you
as for problems 3,5,7,8 and 9...research and testing is underway...hope to get past that hurdle soon...
use the attached folder and put it inside OEM
solve your ringtone by editing the *.rgu file and initflashfiles.txt file available in this folder
solve your theme problem by editing the *.rgu file and initflashfiles.txt file available in this folder
Note: I have used two different mp3 file for ringtone n message notification

any idea about gettin transparent task bars and menu bars??
i wanted to make them completely transparent, not transluscent...
i've gotten transluscent ones working in the start menu but i can't do anything about the today screen!!
i am also searching how to add new theme...but i found this is..

you could just add the theme you want ( in .tsk format) in the kitchen\SYS\Themes_Lang_0409_DPI_96_RESH_240_RESV_320 folder...
tried it out and worked well...
all you have to do is go into settings\today\ when the phone starts and select which one you want...
as for setting your own theme as default...clueless...
guessing you have to extract all files from the theme and place them in the kitchen\dpi_96\COMMON\Base_DPI_96 folder and edit dsm and rgu's from somewhere to set it as default
personally...i've found a loophole to the whole theme problem (pardon the pun) so i don't bother with it anymore
more solutions...
3. to remove the inbuilt themes like dvf green, vera wang red, etc. etc. just delete the theme_dpi_96 folder in the kitchen\SYS\23544\dpi_96\COMMON folder...
to add your own themes copy the .tsk files into the kitchen\SYS\23544\dpi_96_resh_240_resv_320\0409\Themes_Lang_0409_DPI_96_RESH_240_RESV_320 folder and delete the inbuilt .tsk files you'll find there
*NOTE*
for those who want to have a modified theme, i suggest editing the .png images in the folder mentioned below...the ones with "classicblue" "default" and "black" at the start of their name to your preference and leaving the classicblue.tsk file untouched so that this theme becomes your own in case you install another theme and want to go back to your edited theme
7. edit the .png images in the kitchen\SYS\23544\dpi_96\COMMON\Base_DPI_96 folder...
the softkey icons are the ones with names like default_toolbarIconBubbleButton.png...they're all around the same area, so easy to find...
for editing, i suggest using photoshop of you have it, else an easier alternative is the paint.net editor available at http://paint.net
8. now i couldn't get a transparent taskbar and softkey bar on the today screen without using titanium but i did manage to get it to be fractionally more translucent but editing the .png files found in the folder mentioned above
i'll attach the files if needed...
my ROM's coming along so i'll keep you posted with more solutions as they come along...have fun cooking!!
Suggestion
Remove all landscape theme files, bcs no-one uses the GENE in landscape mode and it will make the ROM lighter in weight

the rom i'm working on (and using for testing purposes) doesn't have landscape theme files...i've just added the wallpaper for kicks...

How to install .cab into custom rom file in kitchen?

Hello!
Ok, i mean it like this!
When you customize a ROM file in Kitchen you have many files there... How can i add a .cab file so when i "install/flash" that rom on my device, it will have the program installed?
Hope you understand my question!
-Thanks in advance!
google 'convert cab to ext', then put th eoutput into the
EXT/shared/(subfolder if you want)/yourconvertedcabname/
folder of your kitchen.
example, my first few entries are..
E:\kitchenSone\EXT\SHARED\samsEXT\APP-FakeGoogleMaps_VJBrisk-djet
E:\kitchenSone\EXT\SHARED\samsEXT\Chainfire-HD2-3D-Driver-Patch-2_0
E:\kitchenSone\EXT\SHARED\samsEXT\CHTEditor.v1.8.5.1
and in each of those folders theres a /files/ folder, a skip file, and an app.dat/app.reg

ok, so i did this :
"Output EXT" C:\CAB_Converter\Converted_EXT
Open the project i have in osKitchen, press "Import" and "Import a new EXT Package"
In the new windows i have it like default, Source = "Windows Mobile or OEM Package.
I add first Co0kie Home Tab v2.0.0 and change destination to "HTC Leo" and group to "HTC Leo Packages" and name Co0kie Home Tab
And i did same with CHTEditor v2.0.0!
After that i go to EXT Packages check the left box before the file's and then press "Start Building"...
Then i flash that rom!
When i go on my phone, it's not installed...
To install it i have to go to program named Search Phone, search for HomeTab , press it, and install on device...
WHY DO I HAVE TO INSTALL IF AFTER FLASHING IT!?!!
Other rom's have it allready installed, so they can start using it without installing it themself!
EDIT: Tryed the same with Co0kie.HomeTab_v1.8.5 and CHTEditor.v1.8.5.1... The same thing happend!
Ahh its been so long I forget the next bit, sorry.

All i need to know is how to get co0kie home tab and CHTEditor pre installed when making a new rom in osKitches!
Could you post this thread link if you know someone that might can help me?
