It's not activesync problem. Check your cable. If a problem same, try to hard reset your device

Cool - are you using DeJe's drivers?
http://www.deje.gmxhome.de/
Note - I have done / do this with my Sigmarion III (currently) and a Toshiba e7xx (past) - however both are USB and not serial.
I'd definitely be interested in how you did it too!

hi jmbneaf - sorry a bit off topic;
your profile show :---- current: XDA-I WM2k3 w/ PPCtechs 64MB & Battery Upgrade - ROM 4.01.16 cooked / RS 6.24.01. So it is possible to upgrade the XDA-I? and what do you mean battery upgrade, to what (did not know it was possible)???

search ebay for sx56 battery pack.
good luck.

ntabikha & iggy - mine doesn't have that bulky external battery thing ... :?
The guys at Pocket PC Techs did the upgrade 8) - physically added another 32 Mb of SD RAM to the motherboard and then changed out the internal battery for a bigger better more efficient one. So, I have 64Mb of usable RAM, same 32 Mb ROM + a 1800 mAh battery (stock battery is a 1500 mAh with less efficient charging). I go about 1.5-2 days between charges depending on my usage habits.
So to the naked eye mine appears stock, but is anything but. Check out the upgrades here: http://www.pocketpctechs.com/Services.asp?type=TMOB
Tell Mr Wesson and the guys I referred you to them - you'll be glad you did.

Thanks,

jmbneaf, i know that upgrade too, but... my battery now is 3300 mah
average use 12 hours of always-on mp3, radio steaming or chatting.
i wish there was a way to mount an sd card internaly though .

If you look carefully you should see that the discussion is about the XDA1/Qtek1010/SX56 or whatever they call it. Not the XDA2. Hence no bluetoth.
raptorz2003x,
How is the documentary going? Do you have any pictures or additional details to share?
This is a neat project I agree.

For some reason my 8525 does not work with any rom with AKU 3.3, when I try to enter the comm manager it gives me that wait sign, and when it goes away nothing happens. Also the phone always says no service, and it does not even recognize when I don't have a sim card in. But the biggest problem is when I downgraded back to my old rom my Wlan does not work. No matter how i try and turn it on it does not start. If I try to start it in comm manager, i get that wait sign, and when it goes away the wlan is still off, the keyboard shortcut doesnt work either. I have reflashed the phone many times, and that hasnt fixed the wlan problem. BTW i flash from an sd micro card because I have windows vista and the regular upgrade method doesnt work on it.
Is there anybody that could please help me, it is out of warranty because I bought it on ebay, and I don't have the money to go about buying another one or repairing it (do they even repair pocket pcs these days?)
I toook the battery out and smelled the inside of the 8525, I think it smelled kinda funny, is it possible for the wlan chip to burn out?
btw, i will be willing to reward the person who helps me fix my pda (don't expect too much, im broke, probably $20 through paypal)
The first thing you need to do is flash to original ROM using XP and a USB cable.

Just asking, but would that be any different from getting the .nbh file from the original rom and flashing from SD, or does something different happen that could be causing my problem?

So just out of curiosity, what made you smell your Hermes? Because I tend to smell things, and I wondered if it was just the urge to smell it, or if you anticipated the burning-electronics smell...

I wouldnt trust flashing in two ways:
1. Retractable usb cable
2. SD card
You never know what can go wrong. Use XP and a REAL USB cable. If you still have a problem, very possibly you still will, but at least we can mark that off the list.

I never used virtual PC before, I dual boot.
hypothetically, If I flashed to the original rom using XP and the wlan still didn't work what would I do next? Also i just realized that my pda is hotter than normal, and sometimes when i plyg it in the amber light blinks instead of being solid.
LOL. I hope you have a warranty.
I dont know, if your WLAN wont even power on after a SUCCESSFUL flash of a confirmed good ROM (the original ROM) then you sound screwed to me.

That's not good, I don't have a warranty.
Well anyone have any info about the AKU 3.3 and phone module problem? I think it might have something to do with the radio
@cjchriscj
I think you already know you have an issue. Base on this thread and your responses, it sounds like you have a feeling things are not right. Most of the time when you feel that way, you are usually correct.

yea, I kinda assumed that, but my 8525 has many problems, I posted about another problem that I have where I can't use the onboard microphone for voice calls, only note recording, and the wired headset's mic doesnt work either. The only way that I can use my 8525 as a phone is with a bluetooth headset which I fortunatley have. But, I'm over that problem. I need help with the AKU 3.3 roms messing up the phone radio

you need to go back the shipped original ROM since we know that ROM works. AKU 3.3 is TEST so it is not good to use it as a hardware diagnostic tool.

whoa, thats news to me, I thought cingular officially released the new rom
Is there any sort of diagnostic tool for the hermes? I remember when i had my Ipaq Hx2415 it had a self diagnostic tool that would check all the functions (wifi, bluetooth, sound, touchscreen, buttons, etc). It would be great to see if something is really wrong with my wifi
OK now i think that the wifi is running but the pda doesnt know it. The battery is draining faster than normal and also it runs very hot. I put it to charge and when i came back it was blinkin amber and almost dead (yes, it was plugged in)
When will someone come up with some sort of interface software (Maybe using the USB port on the 4 in 1 Cable.) so that we can printout emails & documents from our Windows Mobile device.
My old Nokia 9500 using Symbian supports this as does my very old Psion 3a!
Jetcet print from Westtek version 5.1) just came out with a new version that will print to IP printers and IPP printers, bluetooth, etc...

Well, how about usb printing. I haven't been able to find any software that does this..

Hi,
I have installed Black Berry connect on my Atom Exec. I am using RC3 by Abusalza.

Try to install and take your pda to Local BB Supplier. He will try to configure the same.
