Here is a carbon styled splash screen I made for my Prophet. Just thought I'd share it with you all.
Unzip the attached file. Copy the png into the Windows folder and replace the existing welcomehead.96.png
Looks better on the prophet screen (in my opinion) and releases about 120kb space on the main memory.

I really like the look of that..
..but when I try to copy it over it says Access is Denied. Any idea of how to get around this?

I just connected my device via activesync and just pasted the file in the windows folder using windows explorer. However Neo XL mentioned this in his splash screen post.
Use Total Commander for deleting write protection of your windwos files. Goto windows, Search, and search all png- and brn-files, mark them and goto properties. Unmark "Read only" and press okay.
Now you must replace the windows files with your theme files...here with the welcomehead.96
I havent tried it out myself, but I'm sure it'll work. For this splash screen, use total commander to just change the "Read only" attribute for only welcomehead.96.png in the Windows folder and replace it with the new png.
Do let me know if this worked for you.
very nice!
looks good on my prophet
thanks

Guys I have a couple of tweaks I would like to get help with:
1 - How can I change the highlight color(when you click on files in file explorer and the clock on the today screen, etc...) from the default green to another color of my choice?
2 - How can I remove "Alltel" and "Youtube" from below the Globe on the Internet tab in TF3D?
Oddly...I followed these directions ( http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=44689 ) to a T to remove Youtube even double checked...deleted the youtube stuff between the operator links and it still shows up on the Internet Tab even after multiple soft resets. I will even attach my Manila file so you can see what I did. I did exactly what he said to do.
As for the Alltel link, I've been told to delete it from my Opera Favorites....well.....I deleted it from my IE favorites, but I either A) can't see my opera favorites or B) don't have any opera favorites.
I found the Opera6.adr file in file explorer which is suppose to be the favorites file, but when I open it in MS Word there is nothing on it except for this:
Opera Hotlist version 2.0
Options: encoding = utf8, version=3
Can anyone help me here??
Pic to resolve any questions about what I am talking about and shows both things at the same time

I found the solution for those of you that have the same issue:
Go to your Main Memory then see if there is an "\Application Data\Manila" folder. If there is,...then the fix is simple.
Either rename the \Manila folder to something else
I just renamed that folder to "Manilabak" and it worked perfectly after a soft reset.
Thanks. This got rid of the Alltel bookmark for me but the Youtube bookmark is still there.
I have a HTC MOGUL and in trying to change the START icon to the HTC logo. I have searched around and found a few sets of instructions
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-475408.html
to do this but they were all for the HTC Touch and Touch Pro or were using a different file name EX:shellres.192.dll.0409.mui
I still tried to use the info. I found but instead of changing my START Icon to the HTC logo it made my Mogul hang at the Windows green boot up screen. Does anyone know how to do this. I only have a file called
shellres.dll.0409.mui
and most of the instructions call for the file
shellres.192.dll.0409.mui
I have tried installing Start Menu Certificates then renaming the shellres.dll.0409.mui to shellres.dll.0409.bak.mui and then copying the shellres.192.dll.0409.mui and renaming it shellres.dll.0409.mui but this also caused the phone to hang at the green Windows start up screen and had to hard reset. I also tried the all in one cab and the Mogul did not hang at Boot but the Windows start icon did not change to the HTC logo. Any help would be greatly appreciated I have searched for days and have done numerous hard resets and I'm at a loss. Thanks in advance.
The file shellres.192.dll.0409.mui is used on devices with 192 DPI, hence the 192 in the name. The Titan uses 96 DPI, so this file will not exist on your device; instead it will be shellres.96.dll. I would try to use that file.
Hope this helps!

Hello all,
I tried doing a search but i could not find an answer to what appears to be a simple issue. When I go into File Explorer and attempt to open my Windows folder, it tends to take much longer than usual to open. I'd say about 30 seconds to a minute, where as yesterday it would open up in about two to three seconds. I have not installed much on it since yesterday, when i noticed this issue.
Can any one say what could be slowing it down? every other folder and program is just fine. Its the windows folder that is only slow.
Thanks.
Did you try this:
Change:
HKLM/System/StorageManager/Filters/fsreplxfilt/ReplStoreCacheSize To: 131072
This creates a filesystem 128k sector cache filter, improves data throughput from ROM to RAM (probably) and does seem to improve indexing response and file browsing.
EDIT: file explorer just loaded my "Windows" directory in half a second with this enabled

It's in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5558836&postcount=1
You'll need a registry editor to make the change but there are several available if you run a search.
Great! thanks for the tip. I do have a registry editor on my phone. will attempt and let you know how it worked.
Your help is much appreciated!
where do i enter the value of 131072? under (dec) or (hex)?
It's a dword value. But the editor i use is the one included in wifi remote access so it's a bit different to most and a lot easier to use. So from experience i would enter it as decimal and it should work.
Hi,
I tried both one at a time but its still the same.
anything else we can try.
Thanks
John
Hey i found the fix posted here.

Thanks everybody.

hey there people.
before i get started please BACK UP your phone! just in case YOU screw up.
so i decided to make myself a boot animation w/ sound based on the Salival DVD that the Tool Band released some years ago. This is my first attempt (hopefully not my last) at making an animation. so i have tested the animation and it works perfecty fine on my HTC AMAZE. It is not a flashable zip, so please do not flash. please unzip and place both files in their boot animation folders. i believe that particular folder is rom specific. (Please excuse me as i am noobsome). however i am running NRGZ28 latest ICS Energy rom and the boot animation folder location is under:
system/customize/resource<----place bootanimation.zip and android_audio.mp3 files here!
Too NRGZ28 rom was missing the some coding to allow the sound file to play at startup.
Go to: system/customize/CID and find the default.xml file.
open the defualt.xml file and on the lower half of the file you will see this as the default settigns:

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Please make the change as follows:
add in: "system/customize/resource/android_audio.mp3"
dont forget to save.
I hope those of you who like Tool will enjoy this animation.
Please view my youtube video on the animation prior to downloading (i dont want to waste your time)

Hi!
I update the tool with DISM repair, sfc scannow repair and checkdisk repair.
Hi!
Batch is updated!
Wow!! It is an amazing idea.
I did some tune up in Windoes 11 pro and i removed the right click shortcuts.
I want those from first row up circle with RED.
How can i put them back?
Hi don't Know. I must check it.
Found it. Here on xda.
Re-enable Windows 11's default right-click context menuIn case you want to revert back to the original design, delete the {86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2} key (which includes the InprocServer32 subkey) from Registry Editor. You can also execute the following one-liner on Windows Terminal to achieve the same result:
reg delete "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}" /f
Reboot
