Biggest SD card for XDA II ? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Can anyone advise the largest SD card they've shoehorned into their Himi ?
I currently have a few 1GB cards which just say 'high speed', but not specific.
If its possible to go up to ...say 4GB , then are there any limits on memory speed ?
Thx

u can use 4 or 8 GB card but after SDHC driver is ported for Himalayas

okay cheers, I've spotted other posts about SDHC and will follow them just as soon as I can get past first base and install WM2006 ( still stuck trying to upgrade past 14MB of memory ).
Is there any type of 8MB SDHC card to go for ..or specifically to avoid ?

Try reverting to WM2003, use hima doc tool, and the flash back to WM5 or WM6.

hi brothers, i am going to buy a 4G mini sd for my O2 Atom, i am not sure it can be used on it or not. does anyone know about it?
ThX
4GB comes in SDHC format.. I doubt atom support.
i see some Mini SD without SDHC, i still not sure about it. also, some friends told me devide the 4G card into two partitions(2G+2G), will it be supported by Atom?

4G MiniSD cards without SDHC can work fine on Atom devices. You don't need to divide it into two partitions. But you'd better bring the device to the shop to have a test to ensure compatibility, for some cards cannot work or read/write very slowly.
i see i see, thx brothers.
SDHC also can be used with Atom after installing patch from:

Try this drivers from HTC ATHENA for SDHC support on Atom.
(Note, that it was not fully tested...)

guy, if you are afraid to install this driver - you don't really need SDHC support in your device...
"was not fully tested" - it's because FSC Loox 5X0 users had problems with WiFi.
But in our devices Wifi controller is not using sdbus.
Also 8GB miniSDHC card was not tested, because now it's not possible to find this card anywhere.
This screen form my atom exec , Topram 4 gb mini sd...
No more sure ...

Then maybe I should half-confirm that this patch WORKS. No problems so far. However, note that I am using a custom ROM, the one Jiggs posted on these boards. Your mileage may vary.
Sorry for taking so long. I haven't had time to test it extensively - and I still am testing it. Thx.

Hi Ultimate Chicken
I never try the 4G SDHC but today I try to change the registry to adjust the mic volume and I found another registry for SDHC inside. And I also use the the ROM cook from Jiggs ^o^

Rom WM 6.1 with sdhc driver support

Hi,
This is for the masters of roms:
Is possible for our prophets to have a rom with sdhc driver support?
I hope so.
Thanks.
as far as I understand it, the Prophet's hardware is not sdhc compatible - not software or driver dependent... do a search in the forum, the question has been posed and answered many times.
Good luck mate!

But I think with a modified driver at least 4 GB SDHCs do work in the prophet, am I wrong with that?
Im curently using a 4gb sd card from platinum (non-hc), i have no problems so far. i think theres no need for sdhc-4gb cards.
I think that the sdhc is applicable to cards higher than 4GB. As I've read previously on the forum, the Prophet will recognise up to 4GB in any case. I'm not an expert, just repeating what the Masters have said... ;-)
I have tried with lots of differant drivers with no luck. but I had a 4 gb card that did work on my prophet. but it's qualety was realy bad so after some pluging in and out it is totaly destroyd but it did work. so yes a 4 gb can work but can't remember if it was HC though.
I am using a 4GB non-hc card for my prophet too. Lots of space, so far happy about it.
Tried Sandisk SDHC 4GB and 8GB, but my prophet can't detect the cards.

The HTC Prophet cannot handle SD-HC memory cards... The highest capacity you can get with it is 4GB, on a non SD-HC card.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
Working on my Prophet
I got an 4GB SD-HC
It Works perfectly with my Prophet (G3).
But i think theres no way to get more than 4GB to work.

Interesting, what is the card brand?
Yes, tell us how you managed to make it work and tell us the brand you are using. Please!
As I said, the hardware just does not support it... Even if he managed to read it, it would work as a simple SD card...
Please see this thread here

which rom version do you use and which brand is the phone(imate,o2,etc),plus did you install any patch for sdhc (becuase patches seem to fiddle with wifi's),which card is this one(kingston, mobime,NCP)
it will be nice to know sdhc could work.
I think the man just realised it was no SDHC but plain SD...
Card Brand
I got a no-name SD-HC Card. I dont have another s I'm not able to compare speed but its pretty slow I think. I didn't install or mod anything Except the WM 6.1 Professional Upgrade (S4V.20270.1 ROM), everything runs out of the box.

Hi, can you send a picture here, from your SD-HC Card ?

SD Card with wm 6.5

Hello friends.
Tell me about what the maximum capacity that P3400 with windows mobile 6.5 (CE OS 5.2.21232 - build 21232.5.0.1 PV) to the SD card?
I want to buy a 16GB SDHC or 8GB SDHC.
Sorry my bad english
Thanks for any help!
As such i think Gene Supports SD Cards upto 32 GB in size. But for some cards above 8 GB, you will have to apply the SDHC fix for WM 6 available in the Development and Hacking section of XDA Developers. I cant take any guarantees, you will need to take the risk. I guess an 8 GB card will suffice, and will be the minimum risk possible. I have only tested upto 4 GB. And ya one more thing, Do try to search for a card which supports Class 4 SDHC instead of Class 6. This is written on the card itself. I am using a 4 GB Class 4 card and it works fine.
thank you, I will try SD Casse 4.

JAMin Not recognising more than 2GB Memory

Hi guys,
Just purchased a 4GB SD Memory card (NOT SDHC) today and feeling confident I inserted it in my phone hoping it would work but apparently would not. I take it out and stick the old 2GB back in and works fine. So it's not recognising anymore than 2GB. I have tried almost 10 diffrent SD Card drivers/patches before and none have worked properly. Can anyone post a link to download a reliable driver that will let me use my 4GB SD Card?
I have tried using search but have found nothing useful or just dead links.
Thanks guys!
Oh and I'm on the RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID.exe NVID ROM
at the moment. If I need to update to a ROM to get 4GB Card to work just let me know and i'll update my phone with it.
EDIT: Just put my firmware to the official iMate JAMin Latest firmware avaliable.
Hi there!
As far as I know Our beloved Prophet does not accept SD cards bigger than 2 GB.
If you had read all the threads in this forum you wouldn't have had to but a 4 GB card to test this.
A good advice is to read all the threads one, two and three times befor doing anything.
(I read the wiki's and threads half a year before flashing my Prohet)
I'm pretty confident that if someone found a way to enable bigger SD cards than 2 GB it would be all over the forum in no time!
By the way, your question doesn't belong in this forum.
In Prophet Accessories would be more appropriate!
Please read all the rules for posting in this forum!

Try to flash other roms......
Hi, I'm using a 4GB (not SDHC) card in my prophet successfully. If it helps this is a link to the ROM I am using. I did download it from this forum about 2 years ago but I can't remember exactly where from now.
It is a WM 6.1 ROM with next to no other software included. I prefer this as I can choose what I want to install and maintain a healty 28MB of Free RAM.
You may not want to stick with this ROM, but I know it works with my 4GB cards, so it might be worth trying out
