Because I write in Serbian language my messages etc., I would like to disable T9 and options like adding word.
Could someone tell me how to do that?
I have already disabled completing word in Input options and nothing happened
Thanx in advance!!
XT9 Enabled
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Layouts\e0010409]
"Ime File"="\windows\eT9Ime.dll"
"Layout Text"="eT9 IME"
XT9 Disabled
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Layouts\e0010409]
"Ime File"="\windows\compime.dll"
"Layout Text"="COMP IME"
*The last 3 digits of the registry key (ie 409) may vary depending on the language code used.

why you try to modify the registry? the way to disabling xt9 is so easy bro
first open setting>>personal>>input>>then in input method change keyboard to touch keyboard or touch keypad>>press option tab>>press xt9 settings>>uncheck auto substitution and word completion....
enjoy to tap sms with your language

i recently upgraded to WM6 and everything is working pretty well. for some reason i no longer have predictive texting. all my input settings are correct set word matches to 4 and start predicting at 2 letters in. this also makes it hard in sms w/o autocomplete working properly i can type in a partial name and see matches.
Did you change your regional settings or language input/output? I lose predictive texting every time I enable Japanese i/o.
yeah come to think of it i did have japanese enabled on my phone. i actually set it back to english via Regedit and it works fine now.. lol Duh!!
i now have predictive texting and all my symbols work on my phone.
i left these keys as is
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload] "Default"= e0010409
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload\1] "Default"= e0010409
and changed these keys to their current values
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Oem\Qwerty] "Layout"= 20411 (Hexadecimal base)
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keyd] "Locale" is in the registry (add it if it is not) and set to 0411 (Hex) or 1041 (decimal)
I will definately give this a shot. I have been searching for an answer to this problem for a loooong time.

Damn, man!! Good job! Works perfectly. I had also been searching for some time on how to solve this problem.
EDIT: It works but only gives me one option per input, instead of up to four, under English only settings. Any ideas why?
Ditto. I lose all my Japanese input when I make these changes.
Also, my keyboard symbols are messed up. However, I believe the results (with the keyboard symbols) will change depending on whether you have a 8525 or Tytn or X01HT etc.
hi there!
I use the iGo (Stowaway) bluetooth keyboard with the WM5 drivers on my niki300.
unfortunately, it clashes with XT9, even in ABC mode.
with XT9, typing is very slow, as i am much faster on the keyboard than XT9 is with keeping up with what i type.
whenever i switch to ABC, the bluetooth keyboard behaves like the 20key slideout keyboard in ABC mode.
for example, if i hit the Y key twice, it writes X, not YY.
has anybody any idea how to solve this? ain't it possible to disable XT9 (and its bad habits) completely for use with bluetooth keyboards?
thanks
Bernhard
update: I just found out, that i have to slide out the hardware keyboard, long press the SYM button to show the XT9 options, go to ABC and close the hardware slider again! now the stowaway behaves correctly...interesting.
maybe you wanna try this cab so that you don't have to press XT9 to oget to ABC everytime you wanna type.
Cheers
thanks tacia, I know the thread where this was posted.
actually, I wrote two little MortScripts that set the registry key to 0 or 1 and put them into the HTC home launcher.
so when i want to use the bluetooth keyboard, i launch the ABC script. when i quit using it, and i am back to using the built in hardware keyboard, where i want XT9, i launch the XT9 skript.
I can upload them here tomorrow if somebody else is interested (along with the start menu links you need to add it to the launcher).
Hello together,
on AP3.0 i used this mentioned from iiidefix:
just change
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\Qwerty]
"Layout"=dword:00020409
to
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\Qwerty]
"Layout"=dword:00020407
do a soft-reset and your keyboard has the German QWERTZ-Layout
But this won't work on AP 4.0. Is there another way ?
Dieter
Schaps!
You can use Schaps Advanced Config for this.
I tried it yesterday and got my QWERTY keyboard to behave like a QWERTZ keyboard.
Thanks - worked fine for me !
Dieter
I have a QWERTZ keyboard layout on my athena, but üäö don't work. I used to write uao and then hold the blue key and press space, but this doesn't work anymore.
Any ideas?
Just discovered it's not working on mine, too, but to be honest:
From your post I've mentioned for the first time how to create ä, ö, and ü
This means: never missed that function too much.
Regards Dieter

hehe ... you have one advantage ... no ö in your country's name.
You shold use "Austria"
or "Land der Berge"
Dieter
that's the answer to all my "regional" problems!
I'm happy I could help you and make your live easier
Dieter
I experienced the same problem with the accented characters not working via FN+space.
The following registry change fixed it for me:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Layouts\e0010409]
"Layout Text"="eT9 IME"
"Ime File"="\\windows\\eT9ime.dll"
to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Layouts\e0010409]
"Layout Text"="COMP IME"
"Ime File"="compime.dll"
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2149991&postcount=214 for the original solution.
Hi,
I am using Gullum's Touch X ROM. I want to change the layout for the Word Suggestion that comes automatically when we type something. Earlier when i was using Touch VIII ROM the words were coming in a drop down style. HOwever this one is more complicated to use when we type. I have highlighted the area which i want to change.
Thanks in advance.
Naveen
I thinks it is XT9 suggestion.
Try this
With XT9 Enabled I Had:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Layouts\e0010409]
"Ime File"="\windows\eT9Ime.dll"
"Layout Text"="eT9 IME"
With XT9 Disabled I Now Have:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Layouts\e0010409]
"Ime File"="\windows\compime.dll"
"Layout Text"="COMP IME"
*The last 3 digits of the registry key (ie 409) may vary depending on the language code used.
Please use search function.

Thanks a ton !!! it works like charm...
Attached is snapshot after changing the key.
When I try and send a text message using the numeric keypad (rather than the QWERTY keyboard) the input defaults to XT9.
I cannot for the life of me work out where the setting is to change the default to non XT9 input.
I note their is a cab file on here to remove XT9 all together but there must be a setting somewhere.
Any clues?
Only a setting in the registry....
You need the cab ...sorry..
Changed the registry to start up with the default keyboard maybe?
REG:HKCU\keyboard layout\preload\1::text:00000409
REG:HKCU\keyboard layout\preload::text:00000409
This disables the Windows applications that start up via keyboard shortcuts.
You don't need a cab to change this. See here.
