Voice Speed Dial??? - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

So I noticed that Voice Speed Dial is removed from DCD's ROM.
Anyone know how I can get it back? Is there a cab somehwere I can find to download and reinstall it? Or a better, alternative program?
thx

I second this question. Thanks for the help.

Maybe I'm an idiot... but I dont see which CAB I need to download there.
Also, I know about MS Voice Command, but I'd rather not pay for something I had working perfect for free.

I used this one.

I personally like the voice speed dial much better than the Voice Command. Voice Command takes up about 2.5 meg of ram and works about 80% of the time. I guess voice command just does not like my voice because it always wants to dial another number. I like voice speed dial because it seems to work every time and uses little memory. Chad

Seconded, I wouldn't mind checking that out... I'm using the MS Voice Command, which I like because it doesn't require training voice tags and find it works really well through Bluetooth, but it is overkill because I don't need it for anything other than dialing (I could probably use it for more if it DID more, but it's only half-integrated, it seems).

man that just aint right....... how can i get the oem vice dialing back? anyone?

Get the Cyberon Voice Speed Dial... this is the OEM which DCD takes out of the ROM.... the CAB is available on the PPCGeeks website.
I got it working back to normal again, although the button assignments get kind of screwy, but they still work.

CAB fixed mine
I am on the newest DCD ROM and the voice dialer worked but only the dialing part, not the application launcher or settings. I grabbed the Cyberon CAB and installed it, did reset like it said and all is good.

Voice dialing soft?

Here I go again with my upgrading issues. I recently upgraded my ROM to PK Black thanks to olipro unlocker, the whole athena project, HeartofDarkness, and ITXDA. THANKS FOR A GREAT ROM and all your help.
My new issue......I need a voice dialer that works. The dialer that was in the shipped ROM of my 7501 was great. Is there a place that I can get thdialer in CAB to re-install to my device? I am currently using VOICE_Tri. It does work but only when the phone is actively on/unlocked. So if my phone is in my pocket and or locked, I cannot dial. The original dialer worked when my phone was locked or not near me. I really want this back. Can anyone suggest a dialer that works that I don't have to buy? Can I strip it from the HTC ROM?
Thanks in advance.

Try this! You might have to purchase this one though!
You're welcome, really.
Do you remember what you used prior to upgrading ?
Heavyweights are:
- Microsoft Voice Command (doesn't need training);
- Cyberon Voice Dial (requires tagging).
Both are commercial products, but since you rightfully own a device that was provided with either, there shouldn't be much problems if you did bit of searching on the forum or googling and found workable archives...

The voice dialer I was using previously was included in the shipped firmware on my 7501. I have no idea who made it or if it was simply part of the ROM. I did try the one offered on mahmood's site and it seems to be working well enough for now. I will use this latest one until I find another. I did have Microsoft's version when I had other devices but I often had trouble using it with a BT device. There was one that I read about that announces your incoming calls and other little neat things, but with all my reading, I forgot its name. So, long story short, I am ok for now, but still always on the prowl for biger, better, faster, smarter, easier etc.
So keep me in mind if something surfaces that is a dowlaoad (pref. free) that I can try.
BTW, do you know how to get PocketCM off of my device?

you might have to use a registry delete on that one. some how it installed in your registry...thats why you cant easily remove it. try resco registry. you should be able get in and delete it with that software.
BTW...that link to that Voice dialer...yes it removes once you go into settings and Remove Programs. I dont think however, that it gives you the option to save your settings. But who cares.... Good Luck buddy!

No voice dialer on AP Dual 3.0???

Surely, i'm missing something. I can't use voice command on my lg style i or any other headset, apparently there is no software on this ro m to do so. There's not even an option in contacts to add voice tag. Can i download the necessar software somewhere? Any feedback is appreciated.

If you have an american accent, then microsoft voice commander is probably a better software, as it does not require any voice tag to be created.

BT voice speed dial *add - Read if you need it.

Hi,
I am using the [wm6.1]Prophet S4V.19701.01 (UC) version in my Prophet with success.
However there is for me a mandatory application, I work 85% in the telephone in BT and for me the Voice Speed dial is very important.
After some study I realize that maybe this version may not be the correct one for me, should I use this one instead?
[wm6.1]Prophet ShadoW 2.0 Touch Edition
The touch is nice, but is this version Ok? Is the BT problems solved? Should I install the Cube from the original coder?
Or I should add the voice speed dial cab to the Prophet S4V?
It would be nice if one of the rom makers could build a “professional” rom with the most important office applications, BT and touch integration .
Thanks for the reply and many thanks for the rom and all the code work around this subject
Rui
I use Prophet_S4V.19701.01_C_Twisted_Green_Extended_ROM from l3v5y and also install Cyberion Voice Speed Dial for bluetooth calling everyday, and it works perfectly.
It located somewhere in this forum.
Touch has been installed in this ROM, but if you mean Cube, you can install by your self. The apps also somewhere in "Development and hacking" forum
Many thanks, I will have it in consideration.
@legedug just one question, the Prophet_S4V.19701.01_C_Twisted_Green_Extended_ROM have already the Cyberion Voice Speed Dial on it, only the cube should be add after the instalation.
Correct?

does it also have a black theme? as

This cab is good for me, but to make it work with the button on your bluetooth headset you also need to do the following changes in the registry:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTAGExtModule = "\Windows\OEMAGW.dll" (string)
@pkarin you are correct, without this registry key the BT voice dial will not respond.
Thanks
I recently got a replacement for my ATT Tilt. The new Tilt came with WM 6.1 and did not have the Voice Speed Dial program which I used in WM 6.0. I really like this program. I installed the one from Post #11 above and did the registry change in Post #12, but the file does not exist on my phone, so I still can not get my Motorola H350 to activate the voice Speed Dial program. I really don't like using the Microsoft Voice Command program for voice dialing via Bluetooth.

Nice one
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-6800-xv6800/91652-sprint-native-big-button-dialer-theme-here.html
that should have what you want. the retouched dialer that is floating around will mess up your phone. if you already tried to install it, hard reset. you have already failed...
i tried search came up with nothing, there's a few floating around but is for gsm. you can try it yourself.
mills, i tried that one also, but it doesn't seem to work to well with dcd 3.12, it installs but when you go to the dialer, it's all bugged.
by the way, i know dcd 3.12 dialer is similar to the touch, but i have dialer pop up issues and need another one to install over it. i don't like the iphone diamond one.
Nice dailer...
Install dailer...rest of file from diamond folder into /windows
for black skin... copy files from black dailer.zip into /windows
to fix smartdailing...copy etphone.dll into /windows
.... you will have to change name of orginal etphone file first then copy new one into /win folder and then delete old file.
P.S.,,, its easier to search this forum using google.
http://www.google.com/advanced_search?q=+site:http://forum.xda-developers.com&hl=en&lr=&as_qdr=all
not really a big fan of the diamond, i don't like the way it threads the recent calls.
is there no cdma cab (that's safe and retains all functions) for the touch dialer? please don't tell me to search i've tried it a million times and looked through all pages.
Well if you looked through all pages a million times there must not be one then. Try strolling through another forum, or use google.

Just looked through that thread, it's not skins i want, it's the actual dialer cab. the stock one that comes with dcd 312 i'm having pop up issues with. There is one cab dialer on that thread but it's for gsm.
Prep: just because it's not uploaded here doesn't mean no one has it, pretty sure it can be extracted from a cdma touch (someone correct me if i'm wrong).

with that one ##778 still showed information, * numbers still worked, and speed dial worked. speed dial = smart dialing?
is there another way i can try if 911 works, besides actually dialing it?

the one you directed me to was the one i tried before, and it doesn't show up correctly. the number pad is all jammed together, and the parts of the contact list leaks through the dial pad. i think this is because you said on post 233 that you need to uninstall the old dialer, which i can't, because it's the stock one that comes with dcd312.
so i should be safe with that retouched wizard 2?

The Mogul Big Button Dialer CAB is the Actual Dialer and the Touch CAB is to skin the dialer to look like a Touch Dialer.
There are tons of dialer variations out there. Feel free to use the SEARCH function or Google to help you out first if you need anything.

[Q] Using Google Voice for VOIP Calls...

So, I' keep reading that you can use Google Voice to make voip calls through wifi with tablets like my YP-G70. But I can't figure out how to do it. Every post I see anywhere says to just have it forward to Google Talk. I've done that, but still nothing happens...
Maybe I'm just missing something?
Any help would be very greatly appreciated, and I really hope I didn't miss a post that already answered this. 'Cause I really looked. =\
Also, any other app suggestions that could do this better would be awesome, too.
Thanks in advance!
Use Groove IP, and link it to your Google Voice credentials.

I can definitely recommend GrooveIP. And from what I can tell, you can now make calls straight from the Google Voice app using "Click-to-Call" (added in the new version of Google Voice).
I currently use GrooveIP still though, since it's most convenient. Calls sound fantastic if your on a good connection, slightly laggy over 3G in some cases.
Ahh, thanks! Installed and working gloriously.
... Although I feel kinda dumb now.
But thank you for your help!

Doesn't surprise me at all. But I bet when they do charge it's probably still going to be a ridiculously cheap alternative.

Yes, the earpiece works with the phone feature only (just talking back & forth). Adjust the volume in the settings first before you make your first call. Talk about ringing your in ears, man!! The button, on the earpiece, only works the "play/pause" for your music on the Galaxy Player 5.0. So you'll to your phone the player itself. Cool? Cool.
Anyone get VOIP working well on their player? I've tried ALL combinations of different software packages with my 5.0 (grooveIP, SIPdroid, talkatone, etc) and cannot find one that offers a usable delay. Every single call I've ever made has has been laggy as hell - even with a full wifi signal, wifi security off, no firewall and fast internet. My test calls all deliver voice through the player with at least a second delay, and having a conversation is almost impossible.
I've tried playing with all the SIP/VOIP settings, played with call quality, codecs, everything! Some settings have made it marginally better but still not good enough. I also bought Tegrak overclock hoping maybe the lack of processing speed on the 5.0 was causing an issue with the codecs - even overclocked to 1.5ghz there was no difference whatsoever.
I'm running gingerbread, but I can't see ICS being any better.
Anyone have any ideas, or is the hardware on the player just insufficient?
Me too I tried all kind of settings with GrooveIP and Talkatone and I just couldn't get rid of the 1 or 2 seconds delay. I'm curious if anyone else sees the same thing or do you just not notice it? It's there.
Thanks!
