microSDHC 8Go Sandisk: 50€!!! - Touch Cruise Accessories

Hello all!
For me it will be 8Go, here: http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B000WH6H1M
What do you think?

I am using the SanDisk 8GB microSDHC with my O2 xda Orbit 2 and it's working fine

It's perfect, my friend! Been using it for a week, it's very sweet and fast. Works like a charm. Love the USB reader
Go for it! ...unless 12GB are coming soon?

Yeah, i'll buy an 8GB too, but i found it a bit cheaper!
http://www.mp3-player.de/index.php?page=article&ID=6190&aid=128
BTW, whats the max capacity supported by our ppc?

That's a nice price indeed!
All WM6 devices with microSD slots should support cards with up to 32GB capacity.

When I read the reports a few weeks ago it wasn't 100% certain that the 12GB Sandisk would ever be released. It was shown at the CES exhibition in Las Vegas last month but some reports said that it was just an early unit to demonstrate and that the actual unit that would hit the streets in June/July will be 16GB. This does seem to make more sense and maybe they're keeping the 12GB in reserve in case they get production issues on the 16GB or some competitor gets to market earlier than expected and they need a quick response.

That's not quite correct... devices must support microSDHC protocol in order to support that high capacity cards.

I am looking forward to the release of the Patriot MicroSd 8GB SDHC Class 6, Class 6 is the highest transfer speed available at the moment:

What is your transfer rate with the 8 Go µ sd card and usb cable to pc ?

4GB - is working

Just for Info
Now we just have to wait for a major price drop. €99 is a lot of money compared to the standard 2GB mircoSD which are available for around $20-25. But great info anyways.
Something like this??

Exactly, it's just disturbing that I already bought a 1GB and a 2GB microSD. If prices drop faster I will get a SDHC, I think.
Yes...I am using a 4GB Sandisk HC micro SD card! Working fine on my Herald with WM6. It is a little big thicker than my normal 2GB card and so you "gotta" help it a little bit to remove it from your phone. It came with an adaptor and a USB stick SD card reader. Even my laptop is happy to read/write on it. I am running Vista on my laptop...
The best part...I bought it second hand (cheaper) as the guy could not use it on his phone.
I can confirm that too...
I've been using a 4GB SDHC in my Wing since I bought it, love having room for movies and programs.
Just wanted to add another confirmation to the list.
Thanks folks. I know what my next purchase is!
Anyone try the 6gb card yet? Both are Class 4.
Hello!
Since one week I had a 6GB SDHC on my P4350 and it works fine.
Greetings
Alex
wow, the 8 gb just went out
Do you thing a 6go SDHC memory card such as this one would work on my terra?

Also has anyone tested an 8GB SDHC? like this?

I am not sure if this are micro are not. When i go to newegg, MicroSD and SDHC are different categories. Thanks for any help.
UllSang,
The links you posted are for Secure Digital (SD) card sizes. The Hermes uses microSD cards. These are much smaller physically.
Both SD and microSD have the high capacity version (SDHC and microSDHC).
MicroSDHC cards work on the Hermes only with the latest cooked versions of WM6.
The second one is a standard 8GB SD card, afaik there isnt an 8GB MicroSDHC just yet.
We know 4GB microSDHC definatly works (you need a recent version of WM6).
you do realize those are sd cards right?
oooppss. . .sorry.. didnt realize sombebody has made the correct point.
hey mrvanx sir. you might want to fix the link on your ROM: part of your signature.. (or is that just a teaser? )
Hmm. I had a feeling that it was not microSD. Good think i asked before i bought one. So can anyone point me in the direction of a 4GB microSDHC? Thanks a bunch.

What do you mean a VGA pda phone? I also just bought my Hermes therefore i would rather not spend a lot of cash on a new phone.
Man those 4 GB SDHC cards are soo expensive. i can get a few 4 2GB for the price of one of those.

SanDisk today announced that it is has begun sampling 6 and 8 gigabyte (GB) microSD High Capacity (microSDHC) flash memory cards to major phone manufacturers and mobile network operators (MNOs) for testing and evaluation. The new cards are ideal for the growing number of feature-rich multimedia handsets that bring together phones, music players, hand-held computers, digital cameras and more. An 8GB microSDHC card can store more than 2,000 digital songs, or more than 5,000 high-resolution pictures, or up to 5 hours of high-quality MPEG 4 video2.
Retail release of the cards and availability to phone manufacturers and network operators are planned for later in 2007.

Hi OlSarge,
www.blt.com. The warehouse shows inventory in realtime. Looks like they had 125 on order and got in 50 which leaves a back order of 75.
Thank you Alylea. I just ordered one from them too.
Nice, I'm thinking of getting a 6GB one too, the 8GB is a bit too pricey for my liking (Approx $140).
Just out of interest, seeing as they are based on the new SDHC format (FAT32, not FAT16) - will they work with the Hermes okay?

Hi Gav,
All indications are that they should work fine as long as you are running WM6 BUT my I recll seing somewhere on this forum that not all ROMS are set up to work with SDHC.
BTW; my sources tell me that the 8GB won't be in mass production until very late '06 or possibly even early '07.

Hi Cypher38,
I just looked at the listing for Schap's 3.54b and it says that there is support for SDHC so it should work.
got my card working by using tnt 2 rom
I wish there was a cheapy MP3 player ($40ish) that would take this memory format. Anyone know of any? I've googled for 3 hours looking for one before asking you guys.
I just order from the same place. They said there are 40 in stock. I can't wait to get it
you could use some cheap mp3 player, but i really like my cowon D2 (2gb/4gb) + SD card yes it does support SDHC with latest firmware
its not a simple mp3 player its a PMP i just got my sis 8gb SDHC card and it works perfectly from newegg, can you imagine the 16gb card? and so on.... man thats crazy for a touch screen pmp heh you can get both the mp3 player and the sd card from newegg. I just wish someone could cook some new diff firmware for that thing would that be sweet or what.
Anyway back to 6gb, i ordered mine and i used the free shipping at amazon and it said it would be only 4 days \o/ so that makes up for the 6 bucks that you would pay for the 3-5 or so and still have it for about the same days heh.
im sure its based on location though.
oh ill try this microSD with adaptor in my mp3 player and see
i really wish though that they would not use microSD but regular SD cards, cause they are soo much cheaper then the micro or mini, but i think cell phone manufactures made it standard almost for the micro
mostly not for the pocketPC/PDA's but for the slim phones :/

Those who kill functionality, power and gaming at the expense of style?
do you know if that work in tytn
Hi
Thank you for all information’s you provide here
Any one knows or already tests Micro SDHC 4 GB or Micro SDHC 6 GB On TyTn with OFFICIAL HTC WM6 Upgrade!
I call HTC America and the person keep answering that TyTn NOT support more than 2 GB
I am confused! I read in more than on forum that tytn with official WM6 support 4 GB!
Whey HTC keep telling the opposite
Thank You
6gb sdhc card
Hey I here you guys got the 6gb sdhc card... has anyone tried it on the sprint mogul 6800 yet???
i personally do not know about official mobile 6 supporting sdhc... but as far as cooked ones go i hear that most of them do, and if not you can always go to a diff one right? that does
dont bother with calling for official support unless its written on the box they wont say jack, even if the upgrade does support they will not, unless you get lucky and get someone who knows what there talking about, and even then they will cover there asses in some form or fashion.
got it today!
http://www.amazon.com/MicroSDHC-Ada...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1191473928&sr=8-1
if you order that one for $78 it comes with a adaptor to SDHC and also a SDHC to USB, which is nice since my lame multi card reader doesnt seem to read past 4gb?
i put it in, it did not see the card right away after soft reboot... it picked it up using the rom in my sig
also i used the free shipping that supposed to come in 5-9 days and it came in 3 days

64 gb micros....unbelievable

Has anyone seen this? http://tinyurl.com/ybz2qfd
man that's crazy, although the 64's won't work with g1, I think its expandable capacity is only 32gb, but that's still big! Not sure of the class #'s on these bad boys, but I'm sure if there aren't any 6 or 10 class versions available yet it won't be long!
EDIT: nevermind, they're all 32's.....the 64gb has something to do with flash or whatever, IDK
32gb is the addressable limit of the SDHC standard.. when 64gb cards appear they will be SDXC, which means no current hardware can use them. Awesome.

Strange you should say that....

As I'm a newbie, I can't post external links.... but apparently CAN post links where "http" have been changed to "hxxp". I spotted this link earlier today, from Morgan Computers - a BIG hardware-clearance company in New Oxford Street, London. £51 for a 32Gig SDHC card.
" The 32GB SDHC memory card is German made, leading edge technology at its best! It also comes with a lifetime manufacturer warranty.
The 32GB SD Card offers high storage capacity with a write speed of 10MBytes/s and a read speed of 20MBytes/s. It is ideal for new generation digital camera and other applications with SDHC cards slots.
Compatible with All SDHC devices
32GB stores approx 1200 x 10MP Photos, 545 Hours of MP3
May be in Eco Friendly Bulk Packaging
*Please Note: SDHC cards will only work in devices that are compatible with the Higher SDHC Specification cards"
I'm going to invest in one of these for my (new!) Desire - my two G-1's will have to continue to make-do with 8 Gig Sandisk TF cards.
You let us all know how that works.

I have two 32GB SDHC's, one is class 2, the other class 6.
The class 2 works but it's insanely slow and it consumes a lot of battery due to the extra hot time required for reads and writes.
The class 6 is extremely fast and doesn't cause noticeable battery drain.
So am I correct in assuming that the higher the class number, the faster the performance & lower the power usage?

Meh. Until there's a PAE firmware released for the device. Like how a 32bit OS can only handle 4GB RAM until you enable PAE. (In windows, you can simply "turn it on", in linux you need a kernel with a PAE module enabled)
PAE, or Physical Address Extension, should allow for a 52 bit limit on physical memory but only supports a 48-bit virtual address space. 4 × 10245 bytes, or 4 Petabytes and 256 × 10244 bytes or 256 Terabytes, respectively. (What that means is, if the hardware doesn't support 52 bit addresses natively, then they highest capacity that can be reached via PAE is 256 Terabytes through virtualization.)
What does that mean for an android device? A PAE Kernel Module could be created to allow for addressing of more than 32 Gigabytes, how far past 32 Gigabytes? That I don't know. I would assume at least somewhere in the realm of 128-256 Gigabytes. I doubt there will ever be a MicroSD card at that capacity though. By the time we see affordable solid-state storage as small as MicroSD with a capacity over 64 Gigabytes it is unlikely that MicroSD will even still be around, and I doubt anyone will still be using the G1 anyway at that point. We're talking another 4 years or so, making the G1 an antique by technology standards.
tl;dr version: Once 64GB cards are affordable enough for it to be practical to put the time and effort into a firmware mod (kernel module, etc) for an android version of something resembling PAE, you can expect -someone- will figure out a way to enable 64GB usage in the G1.
I think we're gonna see faces like this: all the time, when it comes to electronics industry... I can still remember my first Intel 486 with a few MB HDD!
Man one of these would be nice!
For me 6gb is enough..
For music etc i have a mp3 player!
Here we are 2 years later, 256gb micro sd cards are just starting to appear on evilbay.
Also USB thumbdrives that can handle up to 512gb cards

S3 easily, the One X has better design, looks and screen (although these are all subjective), but the S3 overpowers it everywhere for functionality.

I'm 99% certain these are the same item. You will notice that the one that is double the price is sold by a third party seller, not Play. I've noticed that Amazon also sometimes have the same item listed twice with different prices. They even had this microsd card listed twice with different prices, both sold by Amazon. Look here scroll down to Amazon's own price of £164.98 and then look here. Same item from Amazon £49.69.
Anyway I've ordered mine from Play at £44.99.
